No idea why this app used to be able to detect my AVR, but I’ve tried everything to get it to work again. So frustrated with this. Never going to buy Yamaha products again. You should also avoid them to prevent total pain and anguish. Show more

Absolute trash. This reminds me of looking at Kronos app reviews, everybody saying that a 4y/o must of designed it. That’s how I feel about this garbage app. It does not stay connected for more than a few moments and there is absolutely no rhyme or reason as to why it disconnects. It seems that it is worse ever time I attempt to use it. I do t get it, is this really that difficult to do when this is your job? I hate this terrible app, I do enjoy it when it works though, but that is almost never. Show more

No longer sees my RX-3080 on my network and no longer works after years of this app working!

For over a year the app absolutely refuses to see the receiver. I’m connected over Ethernet. Manually setting things up has been no use, I’m disappointed. While my receiver is an older model from around 2015 I’m not expecting new bells and whistles. I want straightforward simple control of basic functions. As long as the app refuses to see the receiver I can do nothing. Show more

Used to work great. Now nothing! Been this way for months. No changes at all on my end. Won’t even find receiver. Try it by manually enter IP and still nothing. Show more

Please update the app to fix this bug: Launching my BD-S677 Blu ray in this app on my iPhone 13 causes this app to crash. Removing the app and restarting my phone does not help. The app works on my daughter’s older iPhone. Show more

Yes, I am formally admitting I’m in a relationship with this app. Have been using it for a couple years now. Left a negative review for it previously because when my iPhone iOS updated the AV Controller app seemed to forget my network settings. Eventually I figured out how to restore them and the app worked fine again. Got a brand new iPhone and when the AV Controller app stopped working I blamed it, instead of the iPhone. [Side note: if you upgrade to an iPhone 13 pro and everything is fine, except the Wi-Fi connection, check to see if the phone is trying to run a VPN. This is especially true of Verizon customers using their Digital Secure app.] Once I figured out the VPN issue on the new iPhone, the AV Controller was working flawlessly again. It seems more intuitive than the nice remote that came with my receiver. And you have to admit there is something very satisfying about hitting the power button on your app and hearing the receiver click on. I like all the cool audio presets, as well as having the ability to tweak them. And having ability to play music from the receiver’s FM, or Apple TV, or the various other music services on it, or from my iPhone is really nice. The app takes a little time to get to know, so you have to be patient and stick with it. But once you’re aware of its capabilities, you’ll really experience the value it brings. Show more

App won’t let me stream over Pandora without agreeing to streaming terms in the “Option” menu. However, after restarting the app, it still won’t open that menu.

This app worked for many years on multiple devices. Now it works on none. No changes to WI-Fi, routers, devices only exception is IOS updates.

It has been well over a year since this app has worked with the latest IOS. Clearly not a priority for Yamaha. If you want an app don’t buy their receivers. Show more
