    NEXT. LEVEL.
This app is the best kept secret on the entire App Store. I found it scrolling randomly through search results for “metronome” and I’ve never looked back. This app can do so many things that other apps can’t that it almost makes it hard to describe to people/hard for them to conceptualize until they see it. Try it, you’ll never go back. Show more

This is, without a doubt, the best tool for practice. An excellent app to improve your timing and to program and master fills, beats... Just about anything. I love it. Chuck Mancini - PA Show more

    Best metronome app out there!
Very easy to use, I’m only scratching the surface of what this app is capable of. Upgrade to the pro version, you won’t be disappointed!

I can’t say enough great things about this app
I’ve been using PolyNome for years and it is one of the most important tools in my practice and performance toolkit. It is packed full of so many features that I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface, but it’s also really easy to use and the basic, commonly-needed features are intuitive and easy to access. The customer support is next level; I will share a story as an example. I was trying to create a playlist to mimic a practice routine used on an instructional DVD so I could do the routine on the go. It involved a feature I wasn’t too familiar with. There is an extensive library of help videos, but I wasn’t sure exactly how to do this thing I was trying to do, so I emailed Joe for support. Joe replied that same day with a link to a YouTube video that would help me. However, I was astonished when I watched the video and he addressed me by name! He made the video just for me to answer my specific question! Who does this? Joe at PolyNome does. I can’t recommend PolyNome strongly enough. Show more

    Polynome is Amazing!
This 2.5.5 update is amazing! This is a powerhouse metronome app. I've had it for over 4 years. It is quickly becoming the gold standard for any metronome. Joe keeps updating and offering great playlists and constant instruction on how to best use Polynome. Incredible. All apps should be this good. Show more

What the hell have you done?
New update adds piles of things I don’t want, and seemingly hides everything I’d been using. Will look for replacement ASAP.

    fun surprise during pandemic
edit May 2020: as much as i love using this app now, i’m RLLY wishing i could just tap and drag each note individually and vertically drag each volume than have to scroll & scavenge thru a sea faders & if the notes somehow show some kind of feedback that the volume change is taking place, that would be cool. ‘Either shown via the SHADE or transparency for each NOTE VELOCITY itself and or the background of each character. That visual representation would be cool because as reading the notes, we have an even finer tuned representation of the beat were focusing on Im trying to look further into this onomatopoeic tiktaktok type language on percussion, but to the average person (who isnt a hardcore musician), again the visual representation would really help universalize the experience for all users This app’s sick nonetheless _____________________________ Edit april 2020 I feel like im learning more about percussion than i thought i knew, but in a lot of funner a way digging around the guts of what patterns are screwing around practicing alien beats lol Im more the synth player, but this app sticks out in a weird liberating way imo Like ive bought drum apps before and they seemed like “just whatever”, but this is giving me a more imaginative yet tangible perspective. My only update suggestion is to somehow make the faders feel more organized, maybe by giving them a flatter gui/shape? That and a “Custom Color Themes” option in settings WikiLinks the app specifically lets u customize all colors and i wish all apps had that function, but the “Dark High Contrast” theme in PolyNome would suffice & would be useful to many being easier on the eyes. v glad i’ve found this randomly and got it? Ive really just wanted a simple metronome for my iwatch at first hah Show more

Best tool ever to practice with
I was introduced to this tool by a professional drummer friend. Once I started using the tool I could believe I didn’t know about it earlier. My practice has become much better and my playing is getting better. Amazing tool for practice! Show more

Paradigm Shifting Metronome & Metronomic Learning Tool
This app will change your life. On any instrument, it is the perfect companion and there’s no metronome that even comes close. It has any choice of sounds, subdivision overlay faders, two separate rhythm entries plus with two Lines each that can reflect the selected sticking from multiple sounds in each limb, polyrhtmic and counting full screen visuals, online public community library of presets and playlists, playlists that cycle presets and sub presets, setlists, the list goes on, on. The bottom line is if you’re in anyway interested in the world of rhythm, this app is worth every cent. We have a lot to be grateful for from drummer Joe Crabtree, it’s sole developer. Have a new idea or an issue with the app? He’ll hear you out and address it. This app is almost perfect as is, albeit with a relative learning curve that pays dividends (aided by joe’s vast video tutorials linked within the app and beyond). This app will only continue to grow in scope and sweetened layout ergonomics. With this tool, our learning is only limited by our imagination and discipline. Thanks Joe. Show more

A little over my head, but excellent...
I‘m not a drummer & therefore this is beyond my skillset. However this is feature rich & a marvelously designed app.

    OMG!!!
Nothing comes close! Every drummer and drum teacher should use PolyNome. It should just be the standard for learning how to play.

    Simply phenomenal

    Polynome
This is a great metronome. You can do poly rhythms with ease. The price is very reasonable and you can take it anywhere. Run it through ear phones or a speaker and the sound is great. Show more

    Used to love this app
Haven’t been a fan since it was rewritten, and everyone had to pay for the Pro version a second time. I feel like maybe the devs are trying to do too much with it. The interface seems cumbersome. It definitely is not something to use when you just need a simple click, as you have to program in a rhythm before the metronome will even work. Who’s ever heard of a metronome that you can’t just hit Play and go? Also, the app has an inbox? That’s annoying. Is there a way to avoid receiving messages unless they’re of vital importance? I originally got PolyNome because I wasn’t entirely happy with Tempo Advance’s weird interface. I was perfectly happy with the original version, and I wish the devs would have kept it available with occasional compatibility updates as necessary. The new version makes me consider going back to Tempo Advance. At least it’s equally usable/fast whether you need a simple click or a complex polyrhythm. PolyNome is not worth using unless you’re doing something complex, and have the time to program it. Show more
