This a great app. I'm an aspiring bass player and having access to all these feels that can loop presents a great learning opportunity. The loops are well executed and the app is certainly a patient accompanist. Recently I was checking out the New Orleans type loops and was delighted to hear that the bass line for John Scofield's 'Three Sisters', a variation on the Pointer Sister's 'Yes We Can Can', that I've been working on, could lie right in the Gene Krupa groove 'Jungle 1' from the app. The feel has many expressions. If you play in a band and bring a new tune to the stand this app is the quickest way to communicate to your rhythm section the feel you are looking for. The references to certain recordings really help you get to the groove you have in mind. This app has really opened up my ears and is making me a more creative improviser. Thanks, Mauro. Show more

Finally someone made a polished app using drum beats instead of a basic metronome click. I’m a professional classical musician and while I’ll still need to get out the tempo advanced app every now and then to do more complex subdivisions, for everyday basic practice with a backing click for time keeping this app is WAY MORE FUN to use Fun = practicing longer. I’ve tried a bunch of apps trying to do this over the years but none came close to this. It’s easy to change beats, to hear samples, and most important to adjust the speed and pitch of the track. The pricing is reasonable and there’s a lot of great choices. Most important, the interface is silky smooth and polished which makes using it a breeze. A+ well done devs! One suggestion: I purchased the 50 credit pack, but now I’m thinking I may want to get all of them. I wish there were a way to “complete your collection” at a discounted rate that totals the full price.l instead of having to pay for the full price in addition to what I already paid. Show more

I even tried restoring in the store section of the app and I still don’t have access to the tracks I purchased.

I think this program is essential for any aspiring jazz musician, and recommend it to all my students. The samples sound great, and the variety of feels is astounding. I recently had to download it again for my new phone and had the kind of technical issues not surprising to a 60+ year old. I emailed my issue, got a very fast response and now I’m happily jamming away with the app. Bravo! If there was anything I’d change, it would be to add an optional metronome count-in when starting the loop. Show more

I purchased access to the entire drummer App Library . At first it was great. Real drum beats that I could play along to. After downloading 10 or so drum loops, the app would not allow me to access additional loops. I can download the loop, but not play it? That’s not good. Show more

The app crashes when I try to preview the Jazz 3/4 It comes up with a pop up asking to preview or buy and crashes

Amazing loops. The app itself is a little buggy (on iPad I constantly have to re-open a loop for it to start playing correctly when I wake the device up). Please make it able to work with Garage Band as an audio unit. It would be a game changer to be able to easily record my practice sessions and share them with my teacher, all in my iPad. Show more

Love this app! I use this app all the time for my own practice as well as teaching. The quality of sounds and variety of styles make Drum Genius my most go to music application thus far. It is easy to access what sounds I need and get to playing. No complications, just great sounding drums. I also like the tempo adjustment and the complex time signatures, like 3 on 4. Great training! This app is pretty great! There’s a large variety of rhythms and beat to choose from! To the developer two suggestions to improve the app. Add some some Metal beats. Also, what about a feature where you could put # of bars of one beat with another to create your own jam. That would rock! Thanks for the consideration. Show more

Great variety of EXCELLENT drum loops. I’m a drummer by trade and these loops are subtle and nuanced. The app though is annoying and difficult, and has been for years. It’s slow and tedious to browse through loops, and when you download a loop it blocks the app until the download is finished, which sometimes takes a while. It’s impossible to quickly listen to a bunch of loops to find the one you want. Show more

The app really helps you build time feel internally. The app was recommended to me by a professional musician who told me how this app would help me think in terms of two bar and four bar phrases. Additionally, the included metronome allows you to set it on “2 and 4.” Yes, it’s possible with a regular metronome, but the added visual helps. It’s so interesting to explore the various beats from around the world, too. Amazing app. Worth every penny. Show more

I play mostly jazz and Brazilian music and there are no loops anywhere that are better than these. I have started to use them for composing as I prefer them to toontrack and other major brand loops. My request is to make the loops available as standalone in some way that the developer benefits. Show more

Wonderful tracks and great support for the app!

High quality loops, makes practice much more fun! It would be really nice to be able to copy paste the loops in my looper app (quantiloop)!

I have been using this app for a few years now and I love it. Most of drum beats are meticulous transcriptions of legendary drummers and because of this the app does a great job of emulating real groove and pocket. It doesn’t feel like playing along with a cheesey drum machine. As a jazz musician this makes my practice so much more entertaining. I highly recommend it. Show more
