    Thrilled
I was so thrilled to learn that the guys had created a great new interactive ambient music/art app when I bought my iPad. I have loved relaxing to Bloom for a couple years now, and though quite different, Scape is every bit as relaxing to use. I have just begun to scratch the surface of enjoyment this app offers, and I look forward to years of chillin' with it. Show more

Love it but it needs more
Ditto to what others have requested and I would like a regenerative aspect added as several minutes for a scape is too short. Is not really compatible with background play as it frequently loses the unsaved scape when a work is in progress. I like the "potential" of the app. Show more

A must have with lots of room for improvement.
I have downgraded my previous 5-star rating after having had some with this app. I love the music and the creation parts even more than before. But. The inability to leave the music playing in the background is contrary to everything Ambient music should be and Brian Eno has publicly stood for. Pease let me turn off my iPad and enjoy the music. I don't want to fiddle with this when I could kick back and enjoy. - Big Eno and Ambient fan here. This app is a lot of great things. If you are a fan of Eno or of Ambient, you must get this. Eno has a great track record of collaborative work. Now he collaborates with you. It's a weird a great feeling when you listen to a composition that you feel yours and unique but at the same time pure Brian Eno. The musical side was nailed perfect. The graphics are horrible, though. A refresh would be welcome. And you cannot leave the app or turn off your iPad and leave the track playing. Didn't ambient have to be ignorable, according to Eno himself? Please fix this. Show more

    Needs audiobus
This app is great but needs audiobus to be complete.

    My new addiction
I love this app and use it daily. It really is my newest addiction. I would love to be able to set the running time of a scape, and to name them individually. All this and an Eno ambient album too for the price! Show more

    I fascinated and frustrated
I want to give 5 stars but can't get it to work! Even shut down, restart and reload app Every time I try to load the ""element" onto the scape in the intro it will not add into the scape. Can't get to step two. On iPad 2. Is this only for newer versions of iPad? Update Finally, deleted again then reloaded and can play with it endlessly. Will give the fifth star when I can send it, otherwise it's really not mine, is it? Show more

    Subtle, yet stellar...Internal, yet cosmic
This is simply the most amazing piece of 'generative' music software ever. Great sounds to work with...and the way they evolve is masterful. Join Brian Eno and Peter Chilvers as a composer and create your own ambient masterpiece with them. This is stunningly good... Show more

    Generative Music...
Brian Eno has been on the road to "scape" since his first tape recorder. Cybernetics, throwing tennis balls at broken pianos with Tom Phillips, participating in Cornelius Cardew's "The Great Learning", his efforts using Koan, Frippertronics, multiple CD players, Bloom, Trope, Air, Oblique Strategies, Stafford Beer, etc., seem to have led him here. Here are the loosely composed elements required to create endless "places" he wants to take you to. All roads lead to "scape"... Show more

    Eno's "Music for Living"
Scape is an ambient music lovers wet iDream. It is the perfect Eno record… endless possibilities…ever changing. You can save Scapes, create playlists. I create nightly playlists to sleep to. I haven't found a way to repeat or play a list through out the entire night…. but maybe I just haven't found that out yet… if it is not an option it should be. Amazing app for any fan of Eno or ambient music in general. Hands down the best Eno app to date..great job…well done! Show more

    The best one yet
Eno and Chilvers have outdone themselves. This is not only engaging and creative, it provides meaningful soundscaping to your environment. Well done.

    Marvelous
Marvelous. If you like ambient music this will keep you entertained. Intuitive interface. The app also supports Airplay so that live music can be sent to networked speakers.

    Nice interactive sound scape maker
If you like ambient music, and you like to play with sounds, this app is a good one to add to your collection. Please, Brian Eno, add Airplay so that I can beam the music to my nicer speakers! Show more

    Playback Issues...
Sounds are wonderful and intuitive. Lots of options for different ranges simply based on pads and shapes. Though just created my first scape, and was disappointed that playback was not even close to what I originally recorded. Seems as if the playback (after taking a snapshot) is based on an amalgamation of where I left off as opposed to a defined structure. Am I missing something? Is there an invisible record button (hoping so!). But for this significant issue, this would certainly be a 5 star review. Show more

    Very nice
Great composition tool with lots of depth. Looking forward to expansions.

Endless possibilities in a limited scape
Beautiful, and I love the way it unfolds more and more options the more you use it. But I wish the visuals were as appealing as the sounds, and I really want to be able to name my scapes. Show more

Is it me? Keeps freezing up
I think I downloaded a lemon....freezes up in the introduction mode and it won't let me bypass the introduction mode. Also, yes, this is rather sleepy-time music...so boring!!! I'm sorry but I am not impressed with what I've seen so far which isn't much but app won't let me beyond the intro.... Show more

    Eno, always the genius
Nicely done app, I want to give it 5 stars, but one thing holds me back: exclusion dilemma. The point of ambient is to soundtrack your life, so why can I not run Scape and go on to do other things while it plays? Show more

Don't be fooled by its simplicity...this is deep!
I once spent more than a year in my spare time trying to track down a tune I heard on TV and just couldn't get out if my head. I eventually found it on ITunes to be one of Brian Eno's called Deep Blue Day. Ever since then I have been a big fan of his work. Brian is one of the worlds best composers of atmospheric, ethereal, unforgettable music. This app does not disappoint. It has Brian Eno written all over it. The cool thing is that you can compose music using complex constructs built in by the master himself, and instantly make music that could be straight off of one of his albums. I have read reviews suggesting lack of complexity - what!!!? Play with it a few more hours, listen to what you can make and think again. This apps changes as you creates new tracks so plenty of variability. Don't just play for 5 minutes and trash it. Experiment for a while and you will see that it is well worth the money. Brilliant! Cool app…but
This is a cool app, but like most, there is no way to use what you create. I have several music style apps and all seem to be dead end apps. I was hoping for the option to save as a aiff or wave…or at least an mp3. This would be a great app to use for background music for videos I shoot. I can do the mini jack out, but mini's are not the best option for recording! M Show more

    Great app on all levels
This is a gorgeously crafted app that looks as good as it sounds. As an ambient album it's top notch music from the master (and creator) of the genre. You can tap Play and kick back and listen. As an interactive music app it's delightful. One part discovery, one part experimentation, and one part musical instrument. Plus it's just beautiful to look at. It's clear that a lot of attention, time and effort went into making the user interface. Show more
