    Very helpful
Great for transcribing banjo tabs from books. Let's me hear what I'm learning and tailor to meet my needs. I can keep all of my practice material in one place. I definitely learn faster. 1 star off for clunky interface and incomplete help files. Show more

Great applet to practice and learn with
This app works great for many instruments. A dobro tuned to GBDGBD is done as a custom tuning.

If I had this in collage, I'd have stuck w/ my music major.
I use this on an iPad. It helps to have a stylus, fingers just don't work. I love the features, but struggle to copy measure that repeat or find my way out of a piece of music I don't want to work on. Not all features are iPad friendly. I've used it to rediscover my song writing pleasure. My music teacher in collage picked on the roundness of my notes and the crooked nature of my stems. She never commented/encouraged my song writing. TablEdit has helped me overcome those hangups and get tabbing again. Thanks a bunch! Show more

    Excellent instructional tool
My .tef music files are all available for playback in my mountain dulcimer classes/workshops with this app. I can slow it down or speed it up and provide PDF copies of music to students. I have used TablEdit to tab music on my PC and MAC for over 6 years and use TEFPad to make changes during class times. I recommend both TablEdit and TEFPad for my students to aid in their growth in playing and arraigning. I rate it six stars if it were an option!!!!! Show more

Great TAB App with over a decade of development and support
I've used TablEdit since 1997, on Window, Macintosh, TeFview on my iPod, and now TEfpad on my iPad mini. For over one and a half decades, Matthieu has maintained such high standards in development and support that it simply blows me away! I look forward to many more years of new features. Show more

Warning: can't open then save a file
Unfortunately I think this paid version is kind of a rip-off. All I wanted was to open a midi file, change the instrument assignments and volume (to use as a learning aid for choral parts) and save. Doing so deletes everything past the 16th measure, so the app is harmful--worse than useless--for any imported music, not just .TEF files. The ONLY use case for this paid app is to write music from scratch entirely on the iPad. Unfortunately I haven't found other alternatives yet. Show more

    Awful
This app seems to be a port of the Mac OS version. While I recognize that this application has developed a huge following by filling a niche that really needed it, the interface is incredibly cumbersome and unintuitive. It is nearly impossible to select multiple measures/notes. Pages completely reflow on zoom, making it impossible to keep your place. It seems to me that this app needs a complete re-write. But since there is a huge amount of content in TEF format out there, it seems TablEdit is content to keep throwing bandaids on this product rather than invest in updating the app. Show more

    Outstanding app
This is a slick piece of software. My learning curve was a little steep but the results, both on the iPad and printed, are terrific. Invaluable in learning a new instrument. Show more

    Custom tuning transpose?
I really want to like this program, but having a hard time. Major issue is the "kludginess" regarding custom tunings. Really concerned that this line of Desktop/iOS programs suffers from the same general problem re: Custom Tunings. Not clear how to cut-and-paste, or transpose, within or from file to file. Good programming to enable use of instruments with different numbers of strings (banjo, mandolin, uke). But most users have a limited number of instruments and use software to maximize their enjoyment. All I want is to take some nice solos, and use the app to rewrite them for ascending string lines (a la Django), and vice versa. Hence the need to quickly and easily cut-and-paste (or transpose) to and fro custom tunings. Thanks! Show more

    Awesome!
I absolutely love this app. I use it for all my musical arrangements and compositions. It's fun, intuitive and easy to use. And it works for virtually any stringed instrument. I highly recommend this app. It's more than worth the money. Show more

    Awesome and super convenient but..
Like I said this is awesome and perfect but I need to be able to scroll better. It become extremely difficult to scroll and that is annoying. Also there is some type of bug I've tried to save a tab that I worked on for a while and all it did was completely delete it. This only happened once but it was still frustrating. In short, awesome app but really needs some improvements. PLEASE FIX. Thanks! Show more

    Best app
It's the only app in it's catagory. Haven't found another with it's features.

    helpful tool
this is a quite useful tool for a new player wanting to learn how to improvise. I can plink out ideas on my banjo, input to iPad, then modify or improve with ease. Show more

    Horrible
This app is the worst I have ever seen out of hundreds. All I wanted to do is access a banjo tab in the tef format. Should be easy, right? Wrong. This thing is totally unintuitive and therefore useless. There is no help. Save your time and money. Show more

    Pretty Good!
They did a fast fix for the previous version, which had some major bugs. The Pro upgrade seems to be quite overpriced, but the basic app does what I need. Show more

    This App is Great
I love this app because of the wide range of support for instruments. There is a problem with the 1.2 update; there is no TEFpad Pro IAP like they said there would be. After updating, I am able to save as many measures as I want. Show more

    Best!
I can't live without TablEdit, and here it is for the iPad. It's a little buggy - like I can't close the options popup, but it is still a welcome development, freeing me all the further from my computer! Show more

    TEFPAD
Absolutely wonderful for mandolin tab (both for import and generation of new tab) Does not tab correctly for dulcimer. Imports dulcimer tab correctly so is still useful for that aspect, but does not generate new tab accurately for new document. Developer has been contacted and hopefully fix is in work as this app will be great asset for Mountain Dulcimer players. Otherwise a well done and greatly appreciated app. Show more
