Ugly design, not user friendly, very hard to use, not very flexible. All in all, way too complicated for a simple lyrics displaying app. Deleting. Thanks for wasting my money.

I am very happy with this and when I had a small request, their support quickly helped me with what I needed. Excellent.

You know, Most apps do have limitations. However, this one has very few of them. This app will get lyrics for almost every song, with the exception of obscure or non-artist specific songs such as some Praise and Worship songs that are performed by local groups and churches. Simple as can be to use this app. Just start playing the song, click on Desktop lyrics icon, choose Lyrics Search, and Search for Lyrics. It pulls up Google search string on my Mac running Mavericks 10.9 and I simply open web page containing lyrics, copy and paste into song “Get Info” section under “Lyrics” section. Presto, you have song lyrics. Great options for viewing and customization. Not bad for a $3.99 app. This app is not total Nirvana, but for those looking for an app that produces much for very little cost, I recommend this app highly. 5 Star… No brainer Show more

Love this app, its very helpful when you do so many songs at a show…knowing over 500 of them, you sometimes need a little help remembering all the lyrics…what would I do without it…Love this program…5 star !!!!! Show more

The first 23 Songs I opened in iTunes, this App says : “No Lyric Information for this Track.” Think I opened little-known Songs? No…Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel. Lady GaGa, Beyonce, Steppenwolf, ABBA, etc., etc., etc. I found this App to be TOTALLY WORTHLESS ! Show more

This App is so incredible! It’s wonderful seeing the music’s lyrics. It’s true: you need to add the lyrics manually, but there are recommendations in the app for how to do that as well. Overall it’s great! I ℒℴνℯ having the lyrics available. Show more

Being able to read the lyrics as the song plays adds a whole new dimension to your musical experience! You can understand lyrics that you could never hear clearly before or even hear at all. The developer has proven himself to be very responsive to suggestions and requests for help. He continually adds valuable functions and enhancements to an already wonderful and very modestly priced application. What it does so simply and effectively is of such value that you'd think that iTunes would have long ago made this applcation an integral part of its software. Songs have a new found joy, directness and vitality when their words leap out at you on your screen, and when you have numerous controls to tweak the way they appear. But you also have a lot of control over how you present the album covers on your screen. In fact DesktopLyrics brings back the focus on album covers and artwork, that was sadly lost when Apple somewhat shockingly retired their much loved "cover flow” feature to display album artwork. Overall, DesktopLyrics is so valuable, so much fun and such a great enhancement, that you’ll be sorry you didn’t discovery it long ago! Show more

Nothing. I get nothing. No lyrics. Running on a 2.6G MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.2. Went to support page and found nothing to help me. I want my money back. Show more

I've been very pleased with this program since I started using it. Desing-wise, it's very customizable which is honestly what I like most about it. Its a solid, lightweight app that gives me what I want without getting in the way, and it does everything it says it does. So, you know, no complaints here :) Show more

I'm using DesktopLyrics constantly and I couldn't be happier with it - the app is in active development and keeps getting better and better with every update. If you are looking for a lightweight iTunes companion to display lyrics for the tracks you're listening to, you can't go wrong with DesktopLyrics. You can tweak the display of the lyrics in every way imaginable and the app uses very little system resources. I like the fact that you don't have to have a dedicated window open to see your lyrics - DesktopLyrics stays out of your way and doesn't clutter your dock and menubar. When I contacted the developer because of a preference/display issue I got a super-fast response and the problem was taken care of immediately. Also, a feature I asked for (ability to hide the action-button) has already been implemented in the current version - that's what I call amazing customer support! Show more

I’ve used this app for a while and really enjoy it. I use GetLyrical to download all of the lyrics for my iTunes library and the combination works well. Firstly, I had a problem with this app when using external displays as it would always move the position of the lyrics and I’d have to resize them to fit on my mac’s desktop. Now that I’ve upgraded, there’s no transparent black box behind the lyrics and it makes them extremely hard to read. I wish that I could still have a translucent background to my lyrics’ window frame. **I was able to get around this problem by creating a black png file with 50% transparency in photoshop and using that as the background image. It works, but the previous functionality shouldn’t have been removed. Otherwise, it’s a cool app that I always use. Show more

Love this app for displaying itunes on the desktop. It could only be better if there were a stop pause next last control somewhere.

With Desktop Lyrics you can sing along to any song in your iTunes Library. I combined Desktop Lyrics with Get Lyrics to update my song lyrics automatically. If I really care, I can add back in the chorus where necessary and time out the song to change lyrics on time. I am really looking forward to the next update which will increase minimum font size. The developer is also very responsive to suggestions. I also appreciate that the display font is customizable. Definitely worth the $3.99 Show more

Even when this app was NOT yet available in the Mac App Store, I've been using it tirelessly. There were a couple of times I had contacted the developer to fix some problems, and he replied back promptly! Not only that, he fixed the problems within a week! Great customer service, and that was when the app was free. Responsive developers like this one is the reason I'm willing to pay for the app! Show more

It does exactly what it advertises, which is exactly what I wanted. Over the years I've spent a lot of time carefully adding/editing the lyrics to my expensive music library so that all album art and lyrics transition with the music on the beloved iMac to studio monitors. Many apps stall and crash, this one just works… Who really cares about a few dollars if something does what you want and makes you happy ? Show more
