    A great app.
For the cost, this is a great little app. I’m a bedroom DJ and I just wanted to make drum loops & interludes to use in my mixes and mixtapes. This program is simple to use, easy to understand, basic—but with a good deal to do. I’ve tried other apps in this price range and none of them are as flexible and easy to use as this one. I’ve used tracks I’ve made here in mixes already with no problems. Show more

    Problems in Mavericks
This app works fine for me in OS7, but unfortunately, does not behave with Maverics. Multiple hangs, stops responding, won’t export, frozen controls, etc. Needs work. It is what it is for a $10 step-imput drum machine. This is a standalone app, not an Audio Unit or VST, so it will not open in Logic or other DAWs. What I would like to see that as an improvment, as well as the addition of swing, as exported patterns (if you could export them) would have some groove, and be more real world useful. (Mav’s 10.9.4, late 2012 iMac 2.9 ghz, 8 GB ram). Show more

I expected more from this app
If you are looking to do any type of up beat work, forget it. Yes it is easy to use because, IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING!!!! Simple simple simple beats!!! That's all folks. There are not enough steps available to assign a sound. Do not use for recording, sounds are not professional. This is a professional review. Show more

    Not impressed
Regardless of what settings I used, the app would only export a few seconds of a song then stop mid-bar. And if I tried to export each bar individually only export 1-2 seconds. I contacted the developers who asked me to send them my song file, which I did, then they stopped responding to any of my emails. Show more

OK if you have nothing else to make music with...
I can see owning this on an iPad, but I am really sad I spent $10 for the Mac version. Then again, for $10, what did I expect when I am used to fully featured software. On my Early 2011 MacBook Pro (8GB RAM, Core I5, Mountain Lion V10.8.5) DM1 runs sluggishly, hangs occassionally and can't control it with my keyboard - seems that should be easy to implement. Sound is OK. Again, fun for sure, but only on an iPad when you are out of things to do. Show more

    Fun machine!
Drum machine for the Mac done very well. Super clean and easy to understand interface, really simple to learn. You can create your custom kits so you can mix and match sounds however you want. Working with the buttons and nobs are alot of fun because it feels like a real drum machine, even the Efx pad is really cool and I find it be very responsive. The app itself feels stable, I’m skeptical about another review I found where they said it didn’t work — the app feels solid and doing things like saving your songs and making any custom changes doesn’t seem to do anything to the performance of the app — I’m sure the other user is running an old unsupported version of OS X. In any case, this app is really awesome and if you want to have fun building songs and beat patters, have a crack at it, definitely recommended. Show more

    Pretty Solid!
If you're into producing hip hop or something similar, this is a great app. The interface is probably as good as it could be, and although it can't replace your DAW (obviously), it's still a solid tool. That being said, the built-in kits are just terrible. Some with the right mix would be fine for live, but never on a record. The good news is, you can import your own samples which totally negates that. Show more

    Does not work!
This program runs properly for about three minutes then all the animations stop functioning, the dropdowns become very laggy, and all other components become unresponsive. The beat keeps playing, but you are essentially left in total darkness to work on it. I truely do not understand how this program is permitted to be sold on the app store. I have just had ten dollars stolen from my pocket. Show more

High Expectations Followed by Great Disappointment
This could be a great app but not for anyone over 30 years of age. The sound library is 90% junk unless you are into hip hop, rap & crap. It has a few classic drum kits but they are badly recorded and sound distorted. If you are into blues, rock or country don't buy this app. If you need a shuffle the only way get anything close is to use 6/8 time. The app only breaks down to 16th notes. I am very disappointed and wish I could get my money back. Show more
