A great way to manage your iTunes Media
This software elegantly solves the problem of keeping iTunes happy (and consistent) while allowing you to manage your storage resources. Combine this with “Automounter” and you can have your NAS seamlessly serve media of all types back to iTunes on your local Macs. Highly recommended Show more

    WHen it goes wrong...
I loved this program at first, but then somewhere along the way it became all confused and left my library unusable. Half in the old location, half in the new location. Now it cannot even find the items it put in the new location. If I had it to do over again I wouldn’t use it. Show more

    Amazing
I needed to move from a 2tb iMac (late 2009 running Sierra) to a new 1tb MacBook Pro (late 2016). I had too many files on the iMac to fit it all on the smaller hard drive of the MacBook Pro. So I started investigating ways to move movies off to a different drive. I found TuneSpan and it has been a dream product. I’m amazed how easy it is and how well the software works. Importantly, the developer is super responsive to questions and willing to provide detailed troubleshooting instructions. I couldn’t be happier. After initially doing a TuneSpan transfer of 600gb of movies from the iMac to an external hard drive via USB, I have since moved that drive to be attached to my router (3rd gen AirPort Extreme) and TuneSpan continues to work perfectly. I can’t believe that it’s so easy to move iTunes content around without iTunes having any trouble finding things. Just amazing. TuneSpan makes moving to a laptop with a smaller hard drive doable! (Not due to TuneSpan or iTunes, I had trouble getting the content over from my iMac to the MacBook Pro, due to a hard drive problem. When the transfer was finally done, TuneSpan was confused about the locations of some of the files that were on the external hard drive. The developer told me to do a Force Respan (right click on the file, and it’s an option there). I was so thankful for the developer’s detailed instructions and foresight for building into the program the necessary options to handle unusual situations. TuneSpan is such an impressive piece of software. Show more

Was skeptical, but it has streamlined my workflow
A short tutorial would have been nice, but once I got going, this is a great way to keep larger files off my MBP without resorting to multiple library files and manual file transfers and reassociating the media. I wish itunes allowed for mutiple file paths for each type of media, but as things stand and for keeping movies and tv shows on a small 2.5” external USB drive while still downloading new content to the internal SSD, this is a clean and useful application. Magic little piece of software that you never thought you would need.
If you are like me and you have a ton of music, eventually iTunes will start to struggle to keep up with the location of all of your music. Especially if you have had to download songs to external storage as your laptop is limited as to the amount of hard drive space it has. You may have found yourself in a similar position to me. Thousands of music files you have paid for and want to access but iTunes no longer recognizes where the file is. This software fixes that issue as well as makes it very easy to move songs from your hard drive on your laptop or desktop to as many external storage devices as you need AND still has them all able be managed and played through iTunes. It does it all in a very easy to use interface which, starts to seem like magic. Gone are the days of thinking I lost some of my music. I no longer worry about moving files around and wondering if I just made a copy of that file somewhere else in my collection. This software is great and helps to keep all of that in check. I cannot recommend this software highly enough. A must have for folks with a lot of music. Show more

A real life saver if you want to use an external disk
I have a fairly big Itunes library, around 150G, and don’t have space for it on my MacBook. I’ve manually managed an external ITunes library in the past but found it a real pain, especially moving things around. So far I’ve used TuneSpan to move my external drive a couple of times, and have added more files a number of times. It seems really solid, I like the fact that you see each result and approve it before it is completed. I also like the way it works with iTunes rather than create another layer that could fail at some point. Quite happy. Show more

    No muss no fuss
This is not a book review; it does what it says it will do, every time, no muss no fuss. I have no complaints.

    Can’t live without it!
My iTunes library had completely filled up a 3tb external drive. TrueSpan successfully moved almost 2tb of movies to a separate external drive. iTunes recognizes each location, and there are no issues playing my content. Unfortunately, iTunes still downloads movies to my “non-movie drive”; but a few short minutes with TrueSpan will move them to their proper drive. Show more

    Awesome!
Works as advertised and allows me to keep my internal drive free, but still allows me to synch my devices across media. Beautiful!

    Incredible
    Functions perfectly, easily.

    Reclaiming my hard drive
Yes. I love music and now I can love it and have it and STILL have my internal hard drive space. It’s like having a much larger hard drive. And yes, I will make a back up file elsewhere. Show more

    Incredible Program!
I’ve been using TuneSpan for less than a day, and am absolutely delighted. I had run out of space for my large iTunes library, and was worried how I might make the transition to external storage. TuneSpan is not only easy to use, but the documentation, and built in support for the program is the best I have ever seen. Everything has worked beautifully. It is a bargain for iTunes users, and I could not recommend it more. Thank You! Show more

    Excellent App
This app has been a great tool for me personally. The ability to offload as quickly as it does when transferring to an external disk to save space. The ability to reorganize quickly when it is needed. This app keeps me on top of keeping my music organized and I really love it! Show more

    Fantastic app
What a splendid application! This has saved me so much time, effort, and frustration. I have a huge movie and TV show collection. Using TuneSpan I’m able to easily store all those video files on an external drive, freeing up space on my internal hard drive. Really well done, solid application. I cannot recommend it enough. fantastic - thought of everything
This app is fantastic — really easy to use and has saved me not only time, but also stress of knowing if I’m correctly copying things over, or organizing them well enough to find them again. The developer has thought of many different needs users may have, e.g. the ability to stop a scan mid-process if you need to. It’s great! Thank you! Show more

    This program rocks!
It works EXACTLY as it says! And it was so much easier than I thought to span my files. If you’re looking for and EASY solution to the ever-filling hard drive in your laptop, IMHO this is it. Nuf said! Show more

Helps over come iTunes organizational failings
The tools iTunes gives us to keep our libraries neat and tidy are not very good. This is espeically true today with all the music and videos that I have been collecting over the past decade. You can’t effectively keep them all on your Mac so I use TuneSpan to keep them orgainized for me. It is easy to use, and does the job. Show more

Great for managing iTunes on a NAS
I use TuneSpan to keep my iTunes movies and TV shows stored on a NAS to save space on my internal HDD. It does its job really well. I had downloaded 9 seasons’ worth of shows since the last time I ran TuneSpan. I fired it up, it went to work on it, and all 202 episodes went to my NAS without a hitch. Show more

    AWESOME SAUCE
So straight-forward. All the tutorials for doing this manually are way too complicated and you’ll never get results as beautiful as TuneSpan provides. This click & drag interface removes all those headaches and the time and hd space saved is definitely worth the $15 price tag. Thank you, guys and gals! Show more
