    No.
I'm shocked the app is so highly rated. I was off-put by the $3.99 at first but app developers have to make their money back somehow, right? But an additional $10 to make the app actually work is misleading. I know the app description section says it but it's still misleading. Why wouldn't it just be one charge? What good is the app if you cant scan a song? How often is anyone, the general public, needing to find what a sample is in a song? Its doesn't justify $10 a month/ $120 a year. That's wild. The app is super glitchy. It took about two days to scan my 100+ songs in my Spotify library only for that function to not do anything else other than just confirm I have 100+ songs in my Spotify library. I cannot peruse the songs in my library via this app. There's an arrow next to the song number count as if I would be able to do, so but I cannot. A glitch or bad design? I have no clue. For as well reviewed as the developer like to remind people the app is, it sure looks like an app from 2001. Honestly, I find the review situation fishy. Developer continues to remind people they have over 9,000 votes but the app store reflects 5k votes. Why is Shazam free, but this isnt? Shazam has 21 million reviews. An app can thrive far more on ad revenue and giving people the option of ad free. A bit disappointed and further annoyed I paid $3.99 for nothing. At least update the functionality and look of the app. Show more

Imagine having to pay $3.99 to purchase offbrand shazam and then being expected to pay a $10 subscription fee just to let you use the app. You literally cannot use the app if you don’t pay for the subscription. Imo this isn’t worth considering that they make you pay for simply wanting to find the song you wanted. Show more

    I love the concept
The listening feature can be quite inconsistent, and that’s annoying. But I do love the app when it functions. Also I couldn’t even see the text input while writing this, so, there’s that, Show more

Cooler than the coolest music apps
You’ll forever have the answer to “what does this song sound like?” And it is an indispensable tool for DJs and beat makers. 100/10

I love this app sooo much
I love DJ music, old school hip hop, Motown, R&B, downtempo turntable sampling, Soul and house, so this app hits all my endorphins. Highly recommend.

    Freezes
Worked fine for many many years. Recently it freezes when you open it. Cant get past the main screen, and sometimes it doesn’t even load that. You can wait for 5+ minutes and get nothing, or sometimes it’ll just crash back to your phone’s home screen instead. Show more

    Conceptually solid, poor development
Not optimized for indexing large music libraries. Lazy UI, not optimized for modern phones (e.g. dark mode). Indexing should NOT be client-side whatsoever. Once it is connected to a Spotify account, any indexing should be server-side, allowing a user to exit the app and allowing WhoSampled to wait to fully index if necessary due to API limitations. Not worth $4, I deeply regret spending any money on this horribly made app. Love the website and sampling in general, but this should not be a paid app. It also has a $10/month option for “music recognition” which will do the equivalent of Shazaming a song, but will direct you to the WhoSampled page. Saves you ten seconds of googling a song title for the cost of a phone plan. Obvious cash grab, but I can’t blame them. Hopefully WhoSampled finds a better way to profit/sustain than a poorly-made Shazam subscription. Show more

    iPad support
The app is brilliant. Would love to have an iPad version. Currently using the iPhone version on iPad and it works but not as pretty. Any plans to port, Devs? Update: still waiting on the IPad Version guys. Please do one ? Also, one feature I find indispensable on the site is the Album feature, where you can click on an album and see all the songs that have been sampled from that album. But you can’t use this on mobile sadly. It would be great if you guys can add that in. Thank you as always! Show more

    Slightly disappointed
This app has huge potential and I hope it becomes a really amazing thing, but right now it is kinda rough around the edges and feels underdeveloped. Still glad I have it, but could definitely be improved upon and I look forward to when that happens Show more

    I want a refund
I downloaded this app and looked around and immediately deleted it within 5 minutes from my phone. A few days later I received a receipt in the mail for a purchase. I never wanted this app. What kind of game are these guys playing. This is stealing and should be illegal. Show more

    My favorite app…but…
I’ve used this app for a couple years and love it to death. Use it almost daily if not for sure a few times a week. Lately there has been a ton of issues regarding “network issues” and it won’t let me search anything at all, even on WiFi amd with full bars 4g. I hope it can be resolved as I use this app more than any other and absolutely love it. Show more

    Dream tool for producers/DJs
I wish I had this years ago. A critical tool for hip hoppers of all kinds. It’s pretty impressive how comprehensive the listings are. Underground, old school, current. It’s dope.
