    Great App
I love this App. It's replaced my big cumbersome notebook full of hand written lyrics and combined them in one easy accessible place on my iPad and iPhone. I love how you can link up the lyrics with an mp3 of the music tracks so that the song will play while the lyrics scroll. You can put the chords in the lyrics too so there's never a problem with chord progressions. It can be a bit tricky getting the scrolling to work with the song so that it's always on screen throughout, but overall I love it. I hook up my iPad to my PA system using bluetooth so it sounds like I've got my whole band with me while I sing and strum along on guitar. Show more

    Great App
I've been using this app for a few years. It just perfect on so many levels. Never give a thought to finding another one. They really nailed it.

    Can't see!
I like this app however, I have lost eyesight in my left eye which was my good eye. Making the text bigger doesn't work because as far as I know there is no option to make separate pages to use a page turner. It is either scrolling or trying to get the whole song to fit on one page and that's out because it makes most songs too small to see. Show more

Everything you need in a lyrics app.
This is my go-to app for creating setlists and sharing song lyrics between friends. It’s fast, easy to configure and priced right. The companion ios app works just as well. Show more

    Seems to be a dud
I just purchased the app, downloaded it, and then clicked on it. It asked to find song files, I went to a a folder with my cover song lyrics, which were mostly doc files, and these files couldn't be opened. There is no documenttion that I can find that shows what kind of files can be added. It looks like this is almost useless for me. Show more

    Great for creating!
Excellent for writing up chord charts! Transposing and exporting PDFs makes sharing easy!

    Cross platform goodness!
I've been using SongBook for several years now across MacOS, iOS, and Windows. Others on my team have used it on Android. Love the simplicity of cross-platform use and sharing for the church music team. Thank you so much. And the few times I've interacted with the developer, he has been very responsive. High five! Bug report - {sot} cause crash
Normally 5 star - but no clue where else to leave bug report. 8/7/2021 On MAC 11.4 OSX - A pro file containing {sot}/{eot} will crash app on startup if it was the last file viewed. This is exception because of a font loading that is now deprecated. Guessing due the fixed fonts used for the tab section. workaround: Don't use {SOT} or don't close Songbook while looking at a pro file with {SOT}/{EOT} tab. Show more

    Worthless
This app frequently crashes on my MacBook Pro M1. At the current version level is not usable.

I've tried several of these apps; this isn't perfect but it beats the others by a mile.
I've tried several of these lyric-chord-chart apps. This one isn't perfect, but it's closer to what I need and want than any of the others I've tried. The fact that it is offered as a computer app (Mac and Windows), and phone or tablet app (iOS and Android) that all work together and can easily share data across the cloud is the biggest advantage that has me using Songbook and dumping the others I had been using. I also like easily turning off chords in the display relatively easy editing using chorpro language. I do have several suggestions that I plan submitting -- but all in all -- Good work LinkeSoft! This is a great app, I'm a tough grader (Updated)
First, I'd like to point out that the software developers care about your feedback; they contacted me and let me know that it was already possible to do BOTH of the things I complained about below! So, I'm updating my review to 5 stars, but I leave the old 4 star review below. Keep in mind that you can view tabs (by inserting {sot} and {eot} around them AND you can copy only the chords by CTL-clicking on highlighted parts and selecting "copy chords. Old review: This app makes it easy to keep all your music in one useful place and share it with your music playing friends. Out of your vocal range? Just transpose up or down. Why only 4 stars? A couple things; It's just terrible with tabs (it's not really meant for tabs, I know) but this could be fairly easily solved if they could just make them "justify" right and left. Also, the chord bank could be a lot bigger; I have to enter lots of chords, and then if you transpose, you have to re-enter the transposed version of those chords. Finally, there should be a way to paste the chord progression of one verse over the next; it's very difficult with the chordpro structure, but when you're playing with a group of people who haven't played the song before, you have to decide between reading the chords of the first verse or the words of subsequesnt verses. It ends up taking quite a bit of dedication. Again, it takes a little more dedication than I wish it did. That said, it's one of my favorites and I use it constantly. Show more

This is the Best app for Solo & Duo Performers
I tried about 5 other apps before using this one and it is the best… why… well I’ll tell you Workflow baby :) Get the mac or PC desktop program, create the .pro files (with lyrics and chord changes) and link them to your backup tracks (mp3s) and then transfer the files to your Google cloud; then grab your ipad and iPhone, with one touch of the “resync button” in the ios app, all your songs update on your iOS device. It is much easier to edit text on your mac desktop or PC and craft the lyrics, you can add directives (hidden text) that set song tempo, superscript chords, set the scolling speed (if you want your lyrics to autoscroll, and other tricks. Now, the the app is NOT overly complicated, however it would be great if the author could have produced an in depth manual, with examples. If your use to finding your way, then you’ll pick it up quickly. But a manual would have been so helpful, the few pages of website help do NOT do this app justice. In fact a good Youtube video would have this app beat many others. One caveat, I like to use wav files or AIF for the best live sound quality, and the desktop app played my songs, but the iOS app is MP3 ONLY. I didn’t get any errors on the iPad, I saw the lyrics, but no sound !? and it took 2 days for me to fugure that one on my own that WAV files were a no go, again, a manual would have told me that :( Show more

    Updated Review
I had sync problems and rated this a 1 star. I tried again this morning and after moving the songbook folder to the base directory everything worked smoothly. Does everything it should in a straightforward, workable manner. Show more

    Worse Than iOS version
This mac version is more expensive than the iOS version and is missing features such as internet search. It also has a serious problem when syncing where it keeps the old version of a tab. I have already lost work a couple of times because of this. I have contacted the developer a couple of times to suggest features and he never seems interested in adding anything. Basically, I feel like this version of the app should be the most refined and feature filled since it is the most expensive and on the better OS, but it is not the case. This may be one of the better songbook type apps, but this isn't saying much as there really are none that nail all the important features a person would need. I have purchased a couple other apps and they have important features this one is missing. Serious improvements and updates don't really seem to happen with this app.... or are very slow. My recommendation is to avoid this app unless you absolutely need it Show more

Thought this would have better support for ChordPro format
After seeing the reviews, I thought this would be a great app to use. But it's really lacking support for some of the most common ChordPro directives (such as start_of_verse, textsize, chordsize, and even doesn't put some things in brackets '[]' into the chord lines but makes them regular text. It's pretty frustrating, but this unfortunately won't suit my needs and I'm now out the amount I paid for it, not even having it a day. Show more

    Very good “but"
So this is the first app I’ve ever used that translated the ChordPro markup format and I use it almost every day to build my personal songbook. I’m really happy with it because there is nothing like it in my toolbox. It’s reliable and simple to use. However (you knew THAT was coming) I wish it had a few more ways to markup the display of lyrics and chords on screen and in print. I’ve found a few places online where ChordPro markup is explained and there are lots more tags than are used in SongBook. I wish SongBook accepted them. I also wish I could import Unicode characters. This would be very useful in marking up more complex arrangements. Don’t misunderstand my criticisms - this is a very stable and useful app and I highly recommend it. Show more

    SongBook Typinator = ?
I love how quickly I can create chord charts, especially with a keyboard shortcut companion like Typinator (aa = [A], amin = [Am], etc). SongBook has a slight learning curve, but it's well worth the investment! My slight complaints are (1) the lack of basic formatting for text (bold, italic, underline—even just in-line html style [] would be helpful), (2) not being able to add a space inside of brackets, and (3) lack of control over page layout, especially column breaks (for example, when the "Chorus" heading is at the bottom of the page, but the actual chorus is at the top of the next column). All in all, however, I am pleased with the autolayout and readability of my chord charts. I highly recommend the app! Show more

Put it in your musical toolbox, TODAY!
I had been searching for ways to accomplish certain tasks in our live performances in a worship environment. SongBook answer the mail, and so much more. No more paper sheets; change the song key on the fly; auto-scrool... And, as a guitar player, a great bonus for me is that it works flawlessly with my Line 6 Helix. Don't waste anymore time, grab it NOW. Show more

    Five Stars!!!
It is great for my worship team! I use the full Mac version for adding/editing the songs, then the app version for my kindle at church. I suggest a high quality tablet, though, as my basic kindle fire seems to crash, which obviously doesn't fly with me. But after trying out 2 or 3 different chord pro apps, this is my favorite! Excellent
You'll wonder how you got along without this app. Playing with other people, I've been able to enter their tunes and favorite key into Songbook via Dropbox . It's just a wonderful aid when jamming. There's a slight learning curve , but all in all, it's worth the time. Show more
