    Not bad for my needs
Had a little trouble at first, I eventually figured it out and it works well. I would recommend this. I’m using the tsx b235, it functions on this unit as described. Show more

    Nothing special
When it works it is good. Phone shows app connected and blue indicator light is lit on the unit but app will not change volume. Have to disconnect and reconnect multiple times to get it to work. If I switch between Bluetooth and radio I have to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work. The app will say that it is not connected when the phone says it is. Other than that I love the radio. A remote control would have been a better idea than Bluetooth. Or maybe both. Show more

    Working perfectly with TSX-B72
Whatever problems earlier reviewers had, they are not apparent to me. Clock and alarm settings etc using this app are easy and straightforward. Perhaps others were expecting more handholding help menus or expansive features ? It’s just a small basic tabletop audio player folks. It does everything Yamaha promised, nothing more, nothing less. Less functionality than expected.
The unit itself does not play M4A songs from Bluetooth or USB, Just M4P. Other commercial speakers like JBL have no issue playing this stuff. To use the intelli alarm feature you need to connect with Bluetooth and pair the device, but the intelli alarm cannot use Bluetooth as a source for the alarm, even though the speaker can play music via Bluetooth (as long as the songs are in the right format). This is just bizarre. The USB has zero functionality with an iPhone beyond charging. I plan on burning a playlist to a CD to see if it will play that, but I’m not hopeful if the songs aren’t the right files, so I will probably get it to work by using a file converter for the select playlists I want to use on the intelli alarm. Overall it’s quite a hassle and it doesn’t appear that much support is being given to the app or the unit to keep it updated with the highest functionality/compatibility. If I’d known all of this about the app I probably would have thought twice before buying the Yamaha speakers. Update: I have been able to convert my songs to a format that the unit recognizes and burned it to a CD, which will play successfully. The problem is largely the intelli alarm. It is hardly what I would consider “customizable.” It requires the unit be set to “Source + Beep” rather than just “Source” to even work. I thought I could never hate a morning wake up beep more than the classic sound most of us know. This one... this is worse, it’s like an uzi machine-gun of beeping, it’s unbelievable. Why won’t you let me just use source with intelli alarm!? Also, why am I limited to a time of 0-3 minutes of fade time? Why can’t I have more fade time? All of this adds up to a bunch of stuff that as arbitrary rules put in place on a product that really could be outstanding with a sliver more of customizability. Anyway, sadly getting the unit to work as well as it can with the app doesn’t let me give this any more stars, this just isn’t the product I thought it would be. Show more

    以前还是不错的,现在虽然显示蓝牙已经连接了,但是APP无法连接!
    有非常明显的bug!而且一直不再修复了,太令人失望了!

    Garbage
Fix your app Yamaha... bought a $200 paper weight?

    Still Bad...
The reliability of connectivity with the app persists. Also, after waiting a year for any update, they don’t even add iPhone X screen support. Way to keep doing the absolute bare minimum Yamaha. Show more

    Wonderful product needed software improve
This sound bar is an almost perfect product for me with scheduled light and sound. The most lack feature is that you can't keep bluetooth audio on with light schedule. I just want to keep audio on with scheduled light. Show more

    Fix alarm feature in app
When syncing it activates a ‘Day’ alarm despite not being selected. Alarm goes off despite not being selected which interrupts sleep. App should allow option to delete an entry in ‘Day’ alarm. Show more

Works, but documentation & usability could be better
The app is not as bad as others have reported, at least in my experience on iOS 10.3.3. As noted on page 5 of the manual, you should enable regular standby mode rather than “ECO” standby if you want to allow Bluetooth connections. But, in addition to that, there is another setting described at the bottom of page 19 — “auto power standby.” By default, this feature is enabled, and it will save electricity. But if you want the unit to respond to your Bluetooth device when it is not active, you should turn off the auto power standby feature. If you have the two settings made described above, then when you start the app, it may be able to connect to your Yamaha system right away. If not, perform the following steps: Open Settings From the main Settings page, select Bluetooth (and make sure that it is enabled) In the section My Devices, you should see the TSX-B235 (assuming that you’ve previously paired with it). Tap the device name (not the “i” in the blue circle), which will restart the Bluetooth connection Return to the DTA Controller app, which should not be able to talk to your Yamaha sound system Note: there are other potential complicating factors, such as having another Bluetooth device make a connection while your iOS device was out of range. Zero Stars
I agree with every one else. From day one this app seemed like it was only half complete. The alarm function only works with a.m. and FM radio. It will not allow you to use Bluetooth as an alarm. Also it seems that it is incompatible with ISO 10. It will not sync to my iPhone 6. Yamaha should be embarrassed Show more

    Worthless - No excuse, Yamaha
Works once, then can't connect. Have to forget and re-pair every use? Yamaha, you should not even mention this app when you sell your devices, you'd be better off with no app at all than this frustrating piece of garbage. If you're going to bother to have an app, then actually have a freaking app. This is broken and does nothing. I bought a $200 clock radio, and this app is nowhere near ready for market. I guess the joke is on me. Amazon, get ready to get this thing back. I'll look elsewhere. Show more

    Disappointed !
Doesn't work on my new TSX-B72 at all like some described above. I like the audio system itself though. Such a trash app by a company like YAMAHA, irresponsible, what a shame! Will write a review on amazon as what it deserves! Show more

Vapor Ware ... Non-Functioning Smoke and Mirror Marketing Lie
I've had the false hope for two years that Yamaha would make good and finish writing the program for this app to do something, anything!

    Underdeveloped App
it's unbelievable a company like Yamaha would have such a low end app advertised for one of their product... It doesn't work... it stays in demo mode. When I try it on older iOS Devices it's completely unstable and still doesn't connect. I'm stuck with an alarm clock that can't be used as advertise or expected because Yamaha can't be bothered to develop their apps ! What the ***&^%&8 Show more

    App Doesn't Work
I purchased a new Yamaha TSX-B72 and when it arrived downloaded the app to the most updated ios. The app stays in Demo mode and will not sync to the Yamaha device whatsoever. I can be patient if there is a solution in the pipes but I've emailed Yamaha and haven't heard a thing. I may have to return the TSX-B72 and delete the app because the app is the only way to access the WEEKLY alarm features. Show more

Yamaha - please update app for ios 10
Once ios 10 is loaded to iphone 6 the app no longer has proper bluetooth connection, clock and music controls lost. Only resolution is to delete and re-add each use which is waste of time. Thank you Show more

New iPhone 6S unable to sync with LSX-70
I've used the DTA controller on previous iPhone 6 as well as from iPad 3rd Generation - no issues encounter with controlling the Yamaha LSX-70 light, volume and alarm setting. However, I'm unable to do so with the new iPhone 6S, even after resetting the LSX-70. I'm able to connect via Bluetooth, but unable to sync (even with power plugged in). Please can app be updated for iPhone 6S. Would be 5 stars - but useless at the moment. Show more

    Good simple app
So far so good. Simple to use. Functions as stated. Not a lot of extra features but works great.
