    Stellar but still bugs
For whatever reason, midi doesn't work well with Thor. When on the main play screen the key board and hexagon make Thor sound really screwy but if you play the hexagon pads in the edit screen it plays just fine. Really great program but I hope this is addressed. Show more

    Midi is not working properly.
The new upgrade does not work well with Soundprism Pro and Audiobus. For example, I now have to start Soundprism Pro, before activating them in Audiobus; otherwise Chordion receives no MIDI from Soundprism Pro. Please fix. Show more

    5 Stars!
I am a guitar player and this is the perfect tool because I can't play chords on a piano. This is the best midi controller I could ever dream for. I use this in logic and it works perfectly. Show more

Easy-to-use Virtual MIDI Chord Controller with some neat add-ons
I was apprehensive about Chordion for some time because I was a little skeptical of some of its features and there are a number of other great Virtual MIDI controllers in the App Store that are either cheaper (Synthecaster, Fiddlewax Blue) or offer a deeper array of features (Xynthesizr, Analog MIDI Sequencer, Chord PolyPad). But as it turns out, Chordion is a great mid-level synth and MIDI controller that is appropriately priced at $3.99 and accessible enough for novice users. The interface of Chordion is attractive, but also very clean. It's also customizable in the sense that you can opt for fewer chord control pads (larger), or a wider variety of chords on screen (smaller pads). Although it took me a second to find the MIDI setup (I think it's in the instrument menu), once I did, it linked up with my synth apps very quickly and without any issues. Controlling chords and notes is easy - there's a slider bar on the right that does individual notes, which is basically a manual arppegio of the chord you have activated (though I believe you can change the notes). Some of the weaker aspects of Chordion probably relate to music theory - it has a solid variety of chords and scales, but if you want the full array of rare/bizarre chords (and a generator to tell you waht chords belong in what key) Chord PolyPad is your friend, albeit at about 3 times the price. I've seen some people downgrade the app as a whole for the drum machine and arppegiator, but that strikes me as unfair given that these were add-on features in a post-release update. The drum machine is primarily there not for recording into a DAW, but to help you keep time internally in the app. However, it does have four kits, and a pretty decent sounding 808 (it even has note accents with double-tap!). Just don't expect a full featured drum machine beacuse that's not what Chordion is! The arpeggiator is probably as good as most built into the popular synthesizers, and it's a great third option for Virtual MIDI control to go along with chords and single notes. All in all, an excellent app from Olympia Noise Company. I wish it universal so I could also use it on iPhone, but it's great on my (aging) iPad2. Show more

    Fantastic
I have been wishing for an app like this for a long time. I wish Garage Band could give me this "never a wrong note feature". This is great fun for those of us who are not naturals at music but who love it any way. With this, any one can create a tune. Thank you to the creators of this great app. Show more

    Fantastic digital instrument
Basic synth controls to manipulate sound, easy to understand layout (especially if you understand fundamentals of music in general), and fun to play with, this app is great for creative types who like to make noises. Use it as a MIDI controller for other apps/synths, use it alone to create impressive sounding melodies and chords, or perform live for an audience. It might be too simplistic for my taste, but I will definitely use it as part of my "digital studio." Great app... Show more
