This app is nothing short of Genius. The manipulation of grains of sound is immediate, fluid, tactile and intuitive. It is addictive from the get go and the textures and moods you can squeeze out of even a few samples are almost infinite. Getting sounds in and out is a breeze since the update. Recording of parameter automisation and filters adds a whole new level and incredible as a granular effect on a live input. Amazing. Show more

This App has a fantastic potential to be one of the new inventions in sound-design and creation on iPad. I've heard that an update is coming soon, for Christmas 2014..? Wish list: Import/ export your own samples directly without iTunes needed, audiobus, it will be cool to connect to a visualizer that would allow to video project during live performance. I wrote a paper on Curtis Roads and granular synthesis in college and was very excited by the prospect of digital granular synthesis on the iPad. This app did not disappoint. It's a great creative tool and can be used compositionally with a little creativity. There are two basic features I'd love to see ASAP: inter-app audio and import/export via Dropbox (samples and recordings). Additionally, I'd love to see some more powerful control over the grain selection and sequencing in the future. Give me the power to select individual grains and their sequence instead of them being solely random. Even include the ability to set the duration of each grain independently. Show more

App looked cool but the screen is stuck rotated upside down so you have to hold your iPad with the button on the left and the volume controls on the bottom. I have my iPad in a keyboard case, which makes this impossible without holding the whole case upside down. According to the support forum, the developer was aware of this problem 2 years ago, but it hasn't been fixed. Too much of a pain to use this app, I wasted my money. Show more

Borderlands - hands down the coolest music app on my iPad. The only problem I have is the method used for importing sounds. An iTunes playlist is creative, but I'd like to audiobus something in, or even use the mic to make a recording on the fly. This workaround limits the feeling of spontaneity that informs the rest of the app. Even still, totally worth the price. Excellent fun. Show more
