No problem with NPR shows including sponsor ads; it’s necessary. But WABE’s app randomly inserts these ads in programming segments, disrupting some very good stories. Only public radio app I’ve encountered that does this. Show more

As has been said by others, the random interruptions to acknowledge funding sponsors (yah, basically commercials) which cuts out parts of stories is incredibly irritating. To be honest, it gets me angry at the sponsors even though it’s not their fault, and makes me LESS likely to use their services. But, alas, I find myself going to other NPR apps that don’t interrupt my stories. Also have changed my annual giving to share my donations w other NPR stations that I now listen to. Show more

I didn’t think it was possible to make this app worse, but the latest update made it even more unstable than before. I haven’t been able to listen to more than a few minutes of WABE because the app crashes, stops, replays the last :05 in a loop. Forget it. Not worth the frustration anymore. Show more

I may be biased as someone who writes for the website, but this app is an easy way for me to read off of my the web and listen to my favorite shows like Closer Look. It all adds up to a 5-Star app in my book. D. Suggs Show more

I’ve used this app for years on a Galaxy. It was my go to app in the AM. The iOS version will not open to the radio stream when alarm is set. It will also not “Play entire show”. When you try it only plays one story at a time until you unlock the screen. I’ve changed every setting I can find to no avail. I’m sorry to say, that my since this is (was) my usual way to listen to WABE, I will reduce the contribution to the radio station. On the plus side, no more pledge drives. Show more

I Love the app. It is good for when I want to finish a program once I arrive at my destination.

As a sustaining member, I love and support WABE in every way, but ads interrupting stories needs to be fixed! It is so frustrating to be engaged in a story just to miss the climax because of an ad. PLEASE SEE OTHER REVIEWS AND FIX! Show more

The app would be much improved if it started playing the last stream open opening. The ability to launch streams through Shortcuts would also help.

So glad to have this app. I started using it because my radio had terrible reception, but I love all the content options.

I mostly use it for steaming and it works well including being able to use my phone while running it. The sound is good and over the past year the bugs have been worked out well. Now you just need to make it easy to donate through the app. Show more
