First off, I want to preface my review by saying I am the weird guy who sings into his phone in the corner. As a musician, I’ve been using voice memos for YEARS to remember and track any idea that I might musically come up with. Whether it be jamming with the dishwashers cadence at work or waking up from a dream and singing into my phone. There are over a thousand different recordings related to my work in my voice memos. Each memo is a piece of my brain, often labeled ‘night life 1’ ‘night life 2’ ‘night life vocal’ ‘night life bridge’ and so on. You get the point. They rack up and are hard to sift through. No longer do I have that problem, with Spire, I can OVERDUB my original ideas that I come up with on the go. Think a DAW on your phone. The track limit seems to be endless, to the point of running out of memory. I have a 6 track song that is 3 minutes long of me noodling in guitar center just making a song. And nobody knew that I was creating magic right then and there. The app allows you not only to overdub, but to mix and edit as well! You can raise or lower levels, pan, it even has a sound check feature that attempts to sound check for you. Being the weirdo I am myself, I just hold it up to my ear when I record like I’m talking on the phone. I’m sure you could use earbuds, but this method works fine too. You can export ideas and share them with friends. For free. Amazing. The pro version includes effects and even more goodies as well, but I haven’t delved into that portion yet since I’ve only been using it for about a week. This app is a gamechanger for musicians, poets, writers, and artists alike. No more fractured files, sifting through hundreds of names trying to find that one idea you had. 10/10. Show more

Great sound recording but impossible to upload to iPad or sound cloud.

Great way to practice and recognize your own voice.

There isn’t a better app to record tracks with. I’ve tried many until I got spire out with the old in with the new. I truthfully don’t use any of my daw or anything spire has made making music so much easier it’s hard to believe how simple it is. Thanks for creating such an amazing product. Show more

Is there anyway to delete she disk space from a cloud? My phone and iPad has been cleared of all music and it still says the device disk is full. I can’t recorded, playback, sound check or anything and there seems to be no solution. Can anyone at least tell me how to reset it? Show more

App asking my location ??? Really??? dumb … location for recording songs ??‍♂️

Even though this app is part of a bigger ecosystem that includes Spire hardware, which I’m not using, this works very well for my simple voice recording needs. I’m using a good external mic, and soundcheck really cleans up the sound without overprocessing. The mini-DAW capability is immensely helpful. Would love to see a landscape mode added, as well as being able to zoom into the waveform. Minor inconveniences for me though. Show more
