    No Longer Works
Are you still working on this app, or did I waste money?

Crashing, but... I have faith in this developer to make things right
I've been using this app for many years and I've been extremely impressed with the developer. (No, I don't know him outside of being his customer.) So I'm only knocking off one star for now. I'm confident that the crashing is a temporary problem that will be fixed in this (otherwise) amazing app. Show more

Updates have not kept up with operating system changes
This used to work very well, and now with operating system updates, it no longer seems to work properly. Very surprising that they still get away with charging so much for something that doesn't work reliably anymore Show more

Great design, but crashes unexpectedly and is riddled with bugs
This app could be a game changer for me. Unfortunately, it crashes every time I use it and is really buggy. I really wish they’d fix the underlying issues as it’s so much easier than editing tab and composing in Logic Pro. Show more

    FIx the bugs
I love this app. It is the simpliest and best tabbing software I’ve ever used, with very quick and easy keyboard shortcuts. However, it randomly shuts down. It’s so good I use it even with that and just save my file often. If they fixed the glitches it would be perfect. Show more

    Waste of money
Why is the App store hosting products that are no longer being developed like Tabular? I was robbed of $30 for something that does not work.

    Annoying
I only got this because Finale was too confusing. This is simple enough, but it tends to crash. It offers to save to the Cloud, but that doesn’t work. Export to pdf results in files that lead to errors when imported into other programs. Adding chords is a pain; you have to uncheck default preferences on every single chord. Preferences are lame and offer no respite from the annoyances. Nearly everything about it is ill conceived. It was way too expensive for the little it offers. I hear that the mobile version is better. It couldn’t be worse, I’ll tell you that. I feel ripped off. Show more

    Useless...
I bought this app in early 2014 and it almost worked out. Common problems I encountered included crashes and failure to save properly. I decided to give up on it then, but I redownloaded it this week to see if they’d made improvements in the past two years. It seemed to work for about 45 seconds before it crashed. It apparently didn’t even matter that I got a new computer between then and now. It just doesn’t work. I deleted the app immediately. I wish I’d spent the money on a more reliable tablature program. Don’t waste money on this app. Show more

    Waste of money
Too glitchy and wayyyyy too involved for someone just trying to write tab. No auto-save, it crashed and killed an hour worth of work twice. Garbage app.

    Can’t recommend it yet
Missing way too many basic featues and progress on adding new features seems to be slow or stopped.

Great potential, but not worth the money
Love the idea of this program, but it usually crashes within three minutes of use. Honestly, it’s trash.

    Unintuitive
This app is for people who read and write musical notation. Trying to write purely in guitar tab is difficult and counterintuitive. For example, to enter a single note, I must first tell the app whether I want a quarter note or a whole note or whatever, and then I must tell it again for each subsequent note. Other tab editors simply divide the bar into 16 or 32 editable regions and infer how long a note should be based on when the next note begins. If I want a shorter note, only in those cases do I have to tell the program. In Tabular, I spend more time switching back and forth between note lengths, and trying to figure out which one I want, than I do writing music. Show more

Not Bad but not Good Enough
I used this App for a while but eventually I had to set for Guitar Pro which can do so more is easier to deal with notes, bars and tracks and provides the user with a in-depth user manual which is non-existent in Tabular and the Tutorial is not cutting it. There is also no support for lyrics and even though it is possible to place them as note comments this is ackward and time consuming. In GP you enter or copy-n-paste and then you adjust the placement in one dialog. Before bying it I would suggest to compare it with its competitors and see if it limited feature set is good enough. I am not a musician but I outgrew it very quickly. Show more

    Broken
This app used to be fantastic, since the update, it no longer even opens. It is now completely broken. Very displeased.

    A needed app
Simpler, more elegant, intuitive interface than Guitar Pro. I love that the developer is putting out consistent and frequent updates adding features every time. Love it.

FINALLY! EXACTLY WHAT I’M LOOKING FOR!!!
Wow! I can’t tell you how thankful I am to have FINALLY found a TAB Editor that is incredibly easy to use AND works for Steel Guitar!!! I have tried everything out there including Finale, Sebelius, etc. They are all so compllicated and s-l-o-w. I don’t know how they can charge what they do, when this app was super-affordable and just plain does what I want to do… create TAB! It’s so well thought out, and very “Mac Friendly” too. Only two things on my personal wish-list for Tabular is to enable a proper way to add lyrics, and the ability to somehow notate a bar-slant. Used mostly for Steel guitar, or other stringed instruments that utilize a bar. It’s also very nice to be able to creat different instrument tunings. Something the “big boys” don’t do easily or at all. If you are looking for a very simple-to-use Tablature Creator/Editor, I highly recommend this piece of software for any level of musician/songwriter. Show more

JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
It’s been YEARS since I read music, and I’m not really interested in learning it again (I know juuuuust enough to “understand” what notes I’m looking at). All I wanted was to get ahold of some guitar tabs to “learn” guitar. The problem being I couldn’t find the tabs for most of the songs I wanted to play (purchased countless books and apps). This app solved that problem (kind of). It’s taking some time to convert the sheet music to guitar tabs, but I’m actually enjoying it. If you don’t mind the time investment, this may be what you’re looking for. Not too difficult to figure out once you get going. If you can read music, I’d guess you could make this thing dance!
