Bare bones, NO way to save anything
Super simple note/chord entry. No way to save ANYTHING, not even Grand staff template. What possible use is writing music if you can’t save or export?

Really just awful. Don’t waste your money.
Wish I’d read the reviews before I purchased it. Can’t play notes as they’re being composed. Can’t undo. Can’t start playing my song from various places in the composition. This could have been so much better but the developer of the app is just plain lazy and trying to make a few bucks. Glad it wasn’t too expensive but even for really cheap, it’s over-priced. Show more

    terrible
I tried making a song and putting accidentals onto it, it won't, not only that, but it won't play for me UNLESS you get the full version which is 3$?!?! WHAT A RIPOFF Show more

Don't waste your time and/or money!
I tried entering a simple melody and the playback plays note duration based on position in the score, not on duration of the note. For example, placing a half note immediately next to a quarter note plays back as a quarter then half note. Placing notes is difficult to do right the first time - you'll end up moving notes to their correct position after initial placement. I could not find how to start a song with a pickup note so my first 6/8 measure has 7 beats rest before beginning. This is a poor editor, even for a handheld device! Show more

    Useless.
I downloaded this app planning to write music for multiple instruments together, piano, and clarinet, but I'm unable to change it from having only two staffs. The app won't beam the quavers and whenever I try to put in a sharp key signature, it's one below where it's supposed to be. I'll never have the need to write a song in a mysterious key with only a G# and a D#. The accidentals take up a ridiculous amount of room, and the measure isn't large enough to hold eight quavers, it will only hold seven. I couldn't find a way to adjust it. I can't use this. Show more

Like the basis of the app
I wish that the placement and movement of the notes was more sensitive. When I am in a general region it picks up notes near where I am but not where I am. I also would love for there to be an undo/redo button. In addition it would be nice if the app allow for the writer to choose where to have the play section begin. If I am further along in my editing I want to be able to hear the new stuff not everything from the beginning. Also when in the play mode edits can still happen if I touch the screen in the wrong place. For now having just purchased the app these are my suggestions. I will keep updating if I find other things. I love the principle of the app, but it still could use a bit of work. Show more

    AWESOME
I just wanted an app for writing music and this made it so easy. You can write a title and the artist and can write notes easily. The notes are a little hard to write but I'm totally fine with that. The free version is perfect unlike other apps which you have to buy. Show more

    Sound
When I try to enable sound it has to load forever and never works but I like the app

    It's almost good.
It looks pretty accurate but there's a lot of little problems, there are no slurs and you can't add any Italian words at the top, the placing is a little weird and I noticed that if you want to add an accidental at the beginning of the staff on the treble clef, it goes to the bass clef staff on the previous line. This would be a great program if these kinks were straightened out! Show more

    God Awful!!!
The controls were difficult to use! You mess up every time you try to add, move, or delete a note! Fix this app to where it's usable!

    Solid app
Prelude is solid, simplistic, and reliable. Everything you need is there to compose a great piece of music!

    Not as expected
This app doesn't have any slurs or ties. Also, it won't let you listen to what you wrote without paying. Needs a lot of improvement.

    Good app but several issues..........
I like this app, but the "play" option is totally full of bugs. It'll play completely wrong notes and wrong rhythms, and on different lines it'll switch octaves. Please fix. P.s. More instrument options other then piano would be nice. Like clarinet or saxophone :D Show more

    Not worth it
The app doesn't adjust for the types of notes you put in. Say I'm in 4/4 time, then I put a quarter note and an eight note, it treats the eight note as taking up a quarter notes worth of space. Show more

Please fix the pitch and timing!
The timing seems to be adjusted by where you put the note in the measure rather than how many beats that note actually deserves. This would be a great app if you fixed this. Adding key signatures would be nice too Show more

    It's pretty cool
I love the concept of this idea. But I wish it would offer more, considering how complex music is. Repeats and ties are mainly what I'm looking for. And the fact that it glitches and closes me out of the app very often at random times frustrates me! It occurs when I try to play the piece I create. Fix please! :) Show more

    Playback notes are WRONG PITCH
The pitches played back are INCORRECT! For instance, I wrote out two measures, four quarter notes each. The pitches I wrote were the following: F5, F5, D5, C5 | F5, C5, F5, D5. When I pushed the playback button, these were the pitches that sounded: Aflat6, Aflat6, F6, Aflat6, Eflat6, Aflat6, F6. They were all exactly a minor tenth above what I had written! This has also happened with other projects I have attempted to write on this program. I do music therapy with kids, many of whom have an interest in learning how to compose music. I paid for the pro version of this app SPECIFICALLY for the playback feature, and the fact that I cannot hear the correct pitches I have written is very, VERY disappointing. Moreover, there should be a way to insert key signatures. Key signatures or no, however, I certainly hope the creators of this program will fix this wrong note playback issue as soon as possible. Great quick score writer
This app is great and a must have. Please update with 1) the ability to repeat section (with repeat bar symbol |: :| ) and 2) a link note flags feature to bar notes. Barred notes are easier to read. Thanks!!! Show more

    Just needs minor fixes
There is some kind of glitch with placement. If I have a quarter note accompanying an eighth note the app will not allow me to line them up, meaning that, when I play it to the piano the sound is off and it ruins the sound. Show more
