    failure to launch
I spend more time begging this program to run than actually using it. UPDATE: Apple reached out to me, heard my concerns, and have solutions for the issues. I'm not changing my orignal rating ONLY because an update has not launched pubilicly that fixes the problem for all. When an update launches that fixes it, I will change my rating. Show more

    WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
This app is absolute garbage. It says on the help bar in the top left corner that the 'Drum Machine Designer' is an instrument with grids and cells for individual drum pieces that exists in MainStage (Like in Logic Pro). However, whenever I try to make the channel strip instrument ‘DMD', it automatically makes the instrument ‘Ultrabeat’ which is the alternate instrument that is way more confusing and complex to use and I’m pretty sure you can’t even load your own drums into it. And once that happens, DMD is NOWHERE to be found. What kind of an app has a performance issued third party app that doesn’t let you program your own drums like the original Logic app? Complete waste of time and money… DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING THIS!!! -5/ 5 stars if I could rate it that low. Show more

    Sad Apple quality assurance
I just spend a load of hours loading up sounds and patches for a gig. MainStage suddenly beach-balled and I lost 3 hours of work. I realize I should have saved my work. But this does NOT absolve Apple from their horrendous QA that has plagqued MainStage as well as Logic and other Apple software. Show more

    It works for me
Once you figure out to use it as it is designed, using aliases a d busses to economize CPU load, the program is solid. I use it every week for live performance outside with a MacBook Pro 2012. It does not run lights but since when should musicians do a pro lighting job? There are many updates and it seems Apple is trying to keep it working and tweaked. People reporting bugs are not using it correctly or have too many patches open at once. It is not buggy and the latency is low. Show more

    Mainstage 3.4.1 disaster!
After my computer automatically updated my MainStage version 3.4.0, it has been a disaster to use. There is a large, white circle with an X through it that appears in the background of all the concerts. There are other issues as well. Please fix this problem Apple..its ridiculous when updates are supposed improve the apps, not make them worse! Show more

    Update 3.4.1
I LOVED this program before this update. It's VERY buggy, and its hard for me to play my patches for live perfomance now. I hope the developers can fix this soon. However, Mainstage is A GREAT tool for playing all of your created sounds/stems available for the stage. I find it really impressive for the limitless possibilities of how u can set up your virtural rig. This goes for even guitar players, if you're into that sort of thing. I reccomend it for those of you looking to really start somewhere with your ability to perfom sets efficiently, and go through all of your patches, preset with ease. Show more
