    Perfect
I was looking for an alternative to the old MP3Gain program for Windows and this fit the bill perfectly. I haven’t had the issue with crashing because I had folders that were too large but I can see that could be a problem if you wanted to point your entire library at this and let it run. The ability to crawl sub-directories would be a nice feature to add in a future release. Show more

Seems to be only one for Mac
Works well with up to 150 song groups for MP3 CDs. Sending to iTunes works but finding not straight forward. Suggest sending to a dedicated iTunes library for collecting Normalized tracks. Show more

    Fantastic
This was EXACTLY what I needed. At first I didn’t know if it was even working and was worried I wasted 5 bucks on it. But I did a couple of tests and it works PERFECTLY. Saved me TONS of hours normalizing sounds and music for a game I am making. Highly recommended! Show more

It made all my songs choppy and weird sounding. Wish I could have tried it before I bought it.

Easy to use, results are excellent, no crashes
The Audio Normalizer app does a great job of batch processing songs to equalize volume. The results are excellent, even on a mix of very different types of music with very different volume profiles, e.g. classical, folk, pop, ethnic, rock. I did not experience any crashes processing folders of music as large as 200 items. I used it to normalize volume on music to be put on mp3 CDs and an mp3 SD Card for use in our vehicles, and it was perfect for this purpose. It is true, as one reviewer complained, that it would be very difficult to use it to normalize your entire iTunes library, but you don’t need to do that. I have found that setting iTunes/Preferences/Playback/SoundCheck accomplishes audio normalization quite well. There are similar SoundCheck settings on the iPhone, iPad and iPod. Show more

    Does what is says
Ths app works fine for me. I have had no problems with it, but I am not trying to process my entire library at one time. I have processed 20-30 songs at a time without any trouble. The ANALYZE feature lets you see waht the results are going to be for each cut before to commit to processing. Show more

    easy!
This program was easy to use and relatively inexpensive. While not perfect, the results are much better then my original tracks.

One by one by one by one...
Be aware that you can’t just drag and drop your library into this app. You’ll have to drop each file or each folder individually — and then the app saves the modified file to a different folder. If you’re using iTunes to manage your library, as I am, this one-by-one process would take weeks and make a serious mess of your music. It’s only $5 but be aware before you throw away $5 like I did. Needs to gain subfolders and not require new directory
I wanted this item to gain my files in place and to just choose my music folder. One can add a folder, but the files MUST be in that one folder. Since my music files are already in place and regestered with Music Match, I don't want them moved anywhere… causes havoc with folder structure and iTunes Match of one were to do this. It does work otherwise, but the options again that I think we need are: -No requirement to move files: just manipulate the gain tag and or add one if absent; the OPTION to move is nice. -Follow directory and subdirectory structure for contained files. Mp3Gain for the Mac
I've been waiting for a program like this for OS X. It works like Mp3Gain on Windows. I like the drag and drop interface. It supports both m4a and mp3 formats and more. If you want to normalize the volume of your music collection then this is a good app for that. One thing that needs to be fix or change on the next update though is for the "target db slider" to remember the last setting you put it on. It always goes back to the default value of 89db when you reopen the program. That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars. I like the app and I hope updates are coming. Show more

Best Alternative to MP3 Gain on a Mac
The previous reviewer gave this app one star for crashing. Well, it will crash if you try to load a big folder. A minor hassle, but if you keep it to doing 50 tracks or less at a time, you should be fine. If you do that, you will find this program works very well as I have. Actually, this is the best I have found to MP3 Gain that I loved when I had a Windows machine. To make sure it was adjusting as it said it was, I toook the adjusted tracks from this program and put it on a flash drive. I then put the flash on my old Windows machine and loaded them in MP3 Gain and they were read at the right dB volume and that program did not need any adjustment. The only two things making this not a 5 star in my opinion are: 1) Would like to see it be able to process more than 50 files loaded without locking up 2) Having a choice of having the adjusted file save to the folder it came from instaed of selecting a specific folder Regardless, this is the best Normalizer in the app store and I have tried them all... Gambled…and lost.
I DJ as a hobby and was looking for a normalizing program to make all my tracks sound similar in volume. This program advertised/explained itself better than any other so I purchased it, trusting the program did what it claimed. …it didn't. While trying to analyze my songs, the program crashed every time. Since I was unable to even begin the normalizing process, I have no reason but to rate Audio Normalizer with 1 star. I do not understand a (or many) developers decisions to release a program before it is triple- or quadruple-checked for errors and bugs. The Mac App store is FULL of gambles that when discovered to be faulty are held to no repercussions other than a poor review. I understand mistakes are made and bugs are unforeseen, but so many faulty programs lends the App Store as a marketplace to potentially take advantage of customers. I hope to discover the developers are dedicated to their product and quickly improve the performance. Show more
