App always freezes when I use it. Would be fun to use more often.

Everything in the app aside from browsing lyrics creates a crash. I’m running an iPhone 11 with  software 15.6.1 and the latest app build. I still experience crashes whenever I try to edit or do anything outside of listening/viewing. Show more

as of late, the app crashes the moment i try to open it nine times out of ten. when the app was regularly working for me, the search function would rarely display the results most relevant to the exact phrase i was typing. if i knew the exact title of a song, and i searched it, i'd need to scroll past several results that hardly contained the phrase i searched (unless the song i searched was immensely popular). in addition, the app cannot handle deviating from the search page by clicking through the songs—if i viewed several songs from the same album without going all the way back to the search function, the app severely slowed down. i really do enjoy the content within the app and the annotated lyric format in general. the web version does not give me most of these issues, which is why this wasn't a one-star review. tl;dr: fire your app programmers Show more

Trash can of an app, good job loading stuff up.

You can edit or comment on the app, and when you try to do it on the clunky website, it always forces the app on you. Also, the suggestions are based on lyrics, which gets annoying when I’m looking for certain songs or bands that are common words (i.e. treat her better by mac de Marco, the fall by lovejoy, hey you by Pink Floyd, etc.) for some reason when I type “the fall”, it doesn’t give me the song with that title, but a song by the weekend with that in its lyrics. It’s a small annoyance because I can just type in the artist name, but still. -_-. Also, the search function completely ignores indie stuff. Show more

Is Genius a Free App to use to download free lyrics or are there charges to use Genuis’s Services App?

i give y’all credit for having lyrics almost as soon as an album drops. but y’all only flaws are after a while when scrolling on the app it looks very laggy and i’m on wifi. and it also makes my phone overheat and i only have the music app open besides this one. Show more

It’s great when the app works, but searching for lyrics is often met with indefinite loading times (yet the numerous ads having no problem loading) at full bars or connected to Wi-Fi. Additionally (at least on iPhone), when trying to listen to music through the app while using Genius for lyrics, it frequently cause the songs to stutter on playback. Show more

I've always loved genius. The interface is really well laid out and the app looks good. For some reason lately it runs so slow and it's a little irritating.

The mobile version is a shadow of the website on PC. It’s so much slower and the app crashes constantly.

This app used to be so good. Smooth, seamless, and had cool things to read about. Now, it’s horrifically glitchy, angering to manage, and now resembles something BuzzFeed would highly advertise. Nothing but click pieces and horrible design. Such a shame Show more

It’s okay. It does produce a lot of good results when searching for lyrics with certain words in it. I’m disappointed because most music doesn’t play in app. I keep pressing play and nothing happens Show more

I used to love this app but now ads have overtaken the user experience. Unfortunately enough was enough and I'm looking for another lyric app

I deleted this to just use safari instead. For some reason it is really easy to click on an ad while scrolling in this app. Half the time is spent just closing ads. Doesn’t happen on safari. Show more

I’ve had the Genius app on three very different phones now, an android, a 7 and a new 13; and it’s always been a buggy mess. Using the app is a consistent chore every single time. There are relentless bugs like freezes, the search engine bugging out, crashes and annoying, intrusive ads. Why is it so hard to make a basic functioning app? Using the web browser is easier at this point. Show more

Too many ads on the 'Genius' App. The Ads significantly reduce device performance due to the overbearing and unmonitored amount. It will be appreciated if this is addressed in a future update. Show more
