Of the big speaker brands Sony is middle of the road when it comes to app and even sound. I have some improvements many of us would like to see. If you do not believe me, Sony, go on YouTube comments and see what people are saying. 1. 5 band EQ adjustment. The current eq on the app does not give you much in the way adjustment. It does affect sound, but most of the time the DSP of day the XG500 or XG300 will make the changes sound worse than stock. You tout your “X-Balanced” speakers and the surface area they have, well let us use them. Stop making the dsp cut bass. 2. UI is very mid 2010’s. JBL and UE win in this department. 3. Allow the app to run in the background. This is very annoying having to reload in and reconnect every time you need to navigate navigate away. I do appreciate the other features like being able to control the lights on my XB and XG speakers and the battery health options. The app also allows you to turn off speakers remotely which is very convenient. Not all bad, but Sony is not leveraging their hardware as best as they could be. This app could fix a lot of the sound shortcomings of their speakers. Show more

Doesn’t work at all Sony has fallen so far far down

I usually use this app when the connection between my soundbar and speakers isn’t working and more often than not it crashes on iOS 16. The diagnostics feature isn’t working either. Show more

Great speaker but the Bluetooth connection is trash. Sony you disappointed me on this entire series. No Bueno.

Request for a rating is a bit premature. I just downloaded the app and am still trying to figure out what the point of the app is.

So my ZR7s sound amazing when they are synced together and working which is a daunting task at best. The speakers are discontinued but they have chromecast so so it shouldn’t be so hard. The app is not communicating well with the device. The app should function well with each different manufacturer.

Sony at first was not excepted to be know for those audio. Now they have improved immensely. Worth a try.

When are you gonna fix the app so more than 2 speakers can be used. As of now since the idiotic update, can only link one off the main speaker!!!

Even as a power user I can’t force my speaker to play at full volume. This is dumb. I’d rather have even 5 more minutes if good music than a remaining 30 min of whispered music that no one can hear Show more

Often disconnects. Speaker sound as good. Technology is poor

Could use some more options for mixers and sound but other than that the app’s GREAT!
