LITERALLY I WANT TO IMPORT A SOUNDFONT BUT IT KEEPS PUTTING IT INTO PCMSYNTH AND I DON’T SEE PCMSYNTH ANYWHERE. WHY WILL YOU NOT IMPORT THE SOUNDFONTS ONTO SOMETHING ELSE?!

Amazing sounds and beat machine kits however I haven’t been able to open up any projects since Caustic can’t seem to rotate to landscape mode even without orientation lock enabled! Not sure if this is a problem other users have experienced or just my phone but would definitely like to be able to use to keep using this app again! I’d also love to see a function where caustic can export songs to my phones files without needing to open iTunes on my desktop. Show more

I wish I had discovered this sooner. It doesn’t seem to do it’s FTP thing correctly. And also doesn’t export stems correctly. I think both these issues are tied to the new IOS folder schematic. However, it is the only app that I get a song out of every time I use it. It’s really easy to compose beats on. The sounds it makes are awesome. Sadly I’ve only been able to export stereo and not stems, nor have I been able to use the FTP server to continue tracks in another DAW so it’s a bit crippled in that regard. The stuff I export doesn’t show up in the EXPORT folder either. I don’t think this is quite compatible with recent IOS. If it were updated it would still be a top app as far as I’m concerned. Who knows if it will ever get updated but it’s working fine on my 2019 iPad under iOS 13.4. You have to pair it with something like Documents by Readdle, iFiles or similar app that allows you to access all of Caustic folders via the built-in Caustic FTP server. UPDATE - Still needs an update but pair it with the free Documents app from Readdle and you can use the Caustic FTP server to access all Caustic folders. See my note below about Caustic tutorials. Still a winner! Sure it’s badly in need of an update but it’s still the most complete all-in-one with the smoothest workflow IMHO. Some of the negative reviewers could stand to take a look at the very well done Caustic tutorials that are on YouTube. They will show you how to do those things you say it can’t do and a lot more. I used to love this app until I bought the iOS version. $9.99 and I can't EXPORT the file unless I buy another $3.99 app? The export to share does nothing, you can't even save a local file with this app. What a joke. Fix this. 1 star because I can't give 0. Show more

This app is a gem. It has let me make amazing songs on the go. 1. Exporting stems doesn't seem to work. 2. It's impossible to line up the dots that control the volume of a track at a certain time. They will always be a bit off from each other. 3. The modular synth exports with TERRIBLE crackling that isn’t in the synth before exporting sometimes. It seems like the mixer modules can glitch like this sometimes. I can’t figure out how to prevent the glitched exports! I hope these issues get addressed! Show more

Been making music since 1983 and I have to say, for a digital WS, this is quite impressive. I have tried a lot of similar apps, but I keep coming back to this one. The only problem I have experienced is on my iPad, when I try to connect via Bluetooth, it will not connect and only plays sound from the speakers. No other issues. Great app! Show more

This app is truly capable if sooo much! But needs updates...... More synths, the ability to add more than just two effects, maybe a multiband compressor, etc....

If you’re looking to buy an indispensable all around beat production app, then buy Caustic mobile over everything else. There are obviously full fledged DAW apps with multi-tracking, but if we’re just talking beat making–Caustic hands down. No other apps have so many machines that use actual synthesis, (most multi-machine apps are just PCM based with some parameter control.) If Caustic consisted of only the Modular machine or the Wave Editor it would be an incredible app, let alone with the powerful sequencing and automation, well rounded synthesis, and ability to maximize processing power on mobile devices. I have a ton of music making apps on my iPad and iPhone but I use Caustic far more than anything else. There are better sounding synths–like the Moog apps, there are more flexible sample sequencer tools–like the MPC based sampler in BeatMaker. And obviously there are many things that would make caustic even better: like an inter-app MIDI/audio machine, 2/4 part unison on synth outputs, evolving or step based envelopes, a 3 band fully parametric EQ on the channel strip, and higher quality compressor/ducker and reverb plug in effects. I would also kill for a better file manager on mobile, (I hate having to move samples one at a time, it can make importing to/organizing your sample library a f***ing pain). Regardless, for my money there’s no better 10 bucks you could spend on a mobile music app, I could live without the high quality audio machines and effects of Gadget, the MIDI and step sequencing power my favourite Sugarbytes apps, the improv beat making fun of Triqtraq or iMashine, the beautiful sound of Model-15, etc. But I could NEVER give up Caustic. Could caustic please be made as an audio unit extension? and also have a folder made for caustic in the files app so you can access your songs samples instruments and etc? Show more

Interface loads in vertical mode with most of the keyboard obscured, will not rotate to horizontal. Completely worthless app on iPhone XS Max. How do I get a refund?

Clicking on any of the prompts including SoundCloud will not open those apps. Also, the exported files are nowhere to be found

It literally takes 3 minutes to make a smaller or bigger trying to change the length of it... so much hassle for little things like the grid and going back and having to put another note to replace and back out of the grid it’s just terrible and very confusing with not a lot of help Show more

I started out on caustic 3 after while I gave up on it deleted it. Me loving too do beats having a 7 inch android nook tablet which ran caustic great . I’ve got every music app on apple BeatMaker,korge gadget,Cubasis ,iMaschine ,SampleTank , I’ve realized that caustic had it all along the sampling,and everything else just found out in opens audio share and audio copy that’s great all this time THANK YOU CAUSTIC IS BEAST IT GOT ME BACK IN MUSIC NOW I KNOW WHAT I KNOW THE OTHER APPS ARE PLAYING CATCH UP TO THIS BEAST APP AND THE PCM SYNT IS AWESOME BUY THE APP YALL IM TELLING YALL GREAT APP. Why won’t this app work for Apple AirPods??????

This is a very versatile and creatively expressive app. The only issue that I have is that my Bluetooth headphones keep disconnecting every time i try using the app. It is really frustrating as I’m usually in public and can’t listen to what I’m playing on my speaker. If this issue is fixed, this would be an amazing product. Show more
