Once upon a time Roon was nearly essential for enjoying at home. It plays with everything, very device agnostic, it’s a relatively low load to run on older machines, and the sound and play options are unparalleled. That doesn’t even touch on the slick and ever improving UI and rich content curation. However It will never fully integrate with Apple Music streaming (or Spotify but no loss there). This was never an issue for me until Apple Music started to take electronic music as genre seriously and now it has the labels, series and artists I listen to most. This isn't Roon’s fault. It’s Tidal and Quboz that haven’t kept up. Roon is still miles ahead of all platforms for a home based streaming platform but the content issue now complicates its value. Apple Music now has the content but the platform is several generations behind Roon. I have had Roon since it’s launch and have never once considered moving off until the last couple of weeks due to content. So Roon is still the premier home solution, but content is key. Show more

After the recent update the app crashes repeatedly even after a fresh install. What’s odd is it opens back up to where you left off so if you’re patient you can eventually play your music where you want too. Hopefully this is resolved soon. Show more

Roon does so much I can’t imagine living without it. Lets me mingle my personal collection with streaming from Tidal and Qobuz, let’s me transcode and EQ / room correct if I want, all with a slick interface that feels a million years ahead of everything else. Also massive thank you to whoever at Roon finally fixed the trackpad scrolling issue on iPad. Show more

Way too many crashes on iOS. It gets in a mood and will start crashing constantly. Gets annoying REALLY fast given the cost of the Roon Core. For the price you invest in this ecosystem, this should work flawlessly. I’d understand on Android given the openness of the platform and hardware variations but this is iOS guys…. Probably will cancel my subscription over this when it’s up. Show more

Since updating to the latest version it won’t let me log into Tidal any more. After oauth flow Roon app just shows spinning wheel next to tidal service.

When the app works, it’s pretty good, but there are two major issues 1) the app frequently crashes on my iPhone (interestingly enough, not on my iPad though) and 2) the app requires a complete restart every time you leave it and come back, which can be annoying. Fix those two items and you’ll have a winner. Show more

Love the service, but the app on iPhone is useless as if crashes constantly (every few seconds)!

I have tried them all. Roon is very stable running on an old apple laptop supplying music to all my devices. Lifetime subscription recommended !!

It’s crashing over and over on iPhone 13 Pro using latest versions of iOS, server software and app! Please fix! (4/18/22)

After getting running on Linux and updates iOS app running very smooth

Build 923 of the remote app keeps crashing over and over. Still having issues with spinning wheel of death when adding new albums to favorites, occurs with Tidal or Qobuz. Has been an issue for months. Opened a ticket to no avail. Roon is a fantastic music ecosystem with innumerable features that are worthwhile to the audiophile, and I have held on to it over Audirvana due to its faster, more ergonomic design—but instability issues are starting to be a major liability. If you have a mesh network, expect there to be problems (and make sure you enable multicast on your router if available—if not, don’t try Roon at all). Roon, you’ve got a terrific user feedback forum. Please start paying closer attention to problems that are mentioned by multiple users instead of asking us to go through endless back-and-forth troubleshooting steps. If several users complain of the same issues, the problem is with your software, not our setups. Show more

I echo all the good reviews. But Roon, ya gotta stop copying/pasting the same release notes with every iOS update. That’s amateurish. Tell us what you did. Give us something to be excited about. Show more

Never had an issue until last iOS update. Roon opens then disappears as in crashes. Unacceptable.

Not sure if this is the right spot for this feedback. Just wanted to share my observations. Last day of my trial and I’m honestly struggling to decide if this is worth it. First off, Roon does something’s really well. Artist, Genre, management of the library, etc., spot on. It’s superb. But beyond that it leaves a lot to be desired. I’m sitting hear listening to a playlist. As I’m looking through the Queue I on my iPhone using the Roon remote, I decide I want to hop to another track. I click on the track and all of a sudden I’m in the album for that track and scratching my head as to why. My queue is now gone. How can this be this hard. On the desktop server I can simply click on play from here. On the phone there is nothing. Without a similar experience it’s of no use to me. Am I supposed to get up and use the computer every time? Can’t even get the app to open up even with the new update

Roon is the absolute best way to curate and listen to your music library. Roon is for music enthusiasts. I am so grateful that it exists in the clutter of AppleMusic, Spotify and Amazon Music all which are woefully inferior. I pair Roon with Qobuz and am in bliss. Show more

I can’t even get in, it always said that i have to update the app to lastest version. I tried many ways but still stuck, fix this please.

Always stop, cant even finish one song then it stop. Then it will load the apps all over again. Im tired of this software. Everytime you play a song it suddenly stops. Show more
