Most of the time I can’t even open the app now
Every since the last two updates, including the one that just happen today, I quite often cannot open this app. I hate that because I enjoyed the app prior to that. It’s one of the easiest apps to do any editing in. If you are recording, audio for podcasts, music, journalism, audio, journaling, or anything else it’s a great app to use. However, if I cannot open it, what good is it?! I have a lot of files saved in it, so I am hoping I can get back in, so I can at least move them if it comes to that. If this bug were fixed, I would easily get this at five stars. Show more

    Needlessly crippled
Version 3 looks nicer, but the dev still refuses to implement 24-bit export or allow for 48kHz sample rate. Says no “professional” workflow requires that, which, as an audio professional, I completely disagree. Show more

    Warning - No Family Use!
I want to warn anyone who thinks they can buy Ferrite 3 Pro and use it with their family. Ferrite doesn’t allow this. Why does Apple even allow family groups to share apps when developers ignore this and code around this restriction? I’d love to sit down and work on an audio project with my son, but not if I have to buy two copies of the same app. Show more

Always my QUIK & EAZY Stereo recorder!
I used the free version for lots of MP3 band jams and i love it and wanted control of Sample Rates and the editing is so easy. I use this absolutely constantly. I see something i wanna record, I open the app, it shows the stereo meters responding and I hit the 'Mic' to start recording, then I can edit it and export it to my bromigos. Cheers! Perfect tool for certain jobs
I have been using Ferrite weekly for the past year to edit podcasts, and have found it to be perfect for that. It is powerful, portable, and incredibly intuitive to use whether with touch input, or my personal favorite, with the Apple Pencil and the Magic Trackpad. Having edited one show now with this most recent version, I have only good things to say. It is better in almost every way. The interface is cleaner and easier to use in version 3, the ability to hear the audio while scrubbing makes it incredibly easy to make precise cuts, and the faster playback speed improves my personal editing workflow immensely. Since owning my iPad Pro, this is my absolute favorite “professional” class app for getting work done, and the latest version has improved on almost everything I already loved about this app. Show more

I think it’s missing recording in WAV
The new features in V3 are very nice, specially on the edit section. However, I know for a fact that files in the WAV format can be recorded in an iPhone or iPad, could you please add it as an option at least? Then I think that the definition of Pro for the app will be complete. Thank you! Show more

Do not "update": you will loose your paid Pro features
The latest "upDATE" is a forced upGRADE. You will loose your paid features, the "Restore Purchases" option only gives you a discount to PAY MORE to recover your existing functionality! This is even worse for users set up for automatic updates who will find themselves locked out of their paid features from one day to the next. Part of this deliberate move is of course that you have no way to revert to your paid V2 version especially since Apple removed separate App backups (of older versions) - you can only (re)install the current one (which locks you out of your paid features) I have no problem with devs charging for a new major version, and many (like the Affinity suite, or Textastic, or Blink for example) do so responsibly: by making it a separate install that will allow you to upgrade your workflow when time and budget permits - not Ferrite. Of course the other reason to do an in-place upgrade is ride on a large amount of mostly positive reviews of a version that no longer exists, replaced with a new version with a new set of bugs and issues. This kind of backhanded tactic by itself warrants a 1-Star review, regardless of any merit of the new version. Which is itself more debatable than some recent reviews make it out to be, especially if you had an established workflow... Show more

    Version 3 is an improvement
I’ve been using this app to edit my podcast for over a year now. Version two was acceptable, but a little clunky and complicated to use. With version three, they’ve cleaned up the UI to be more modern and intuitive. They’ve also added features like playback speed control, which was a HUGE thing I was wanting! That being said, my main criticism is still that the app is a little too difficult to discover all of the features buried in here. And that’s a real shame because there’s a ton of stuff in here I never knew about until just recently. there are a lot of “buttons” that simply do not look like buttons, so I never tapped on them to see what they could do. In that regard, I really should knock a star off of this review. However, I just think it is a fantastic editing experience overall, and I’m glad there are power features in here, or even if they feel hidden. Show more

Wow! Something I've dreamed of for years.
Since the first time I recorded something on an iPhone I dreamed of the day we'd have a decent iOS audio editor. This is more than decent! Can't wait to see the further development and feature additions especially a lossless output option and finer tuning on the settings of the compressor etc. This sort of software and the iPad Pro has allowed me to switch entirely to the ipad from Mac and do more than ever before to boot. Can't wait to see the audio recording options continue to grow so that iOS can be a one stop shop for Podcasters everywhere. Update, with 3.0 you’ve introduced variable speed playback during editing, great file management & tons more. A fantastic product is now even better. Show more

    Ferrite recording
This system is the worst in guidance and instruction. The YouTube videos should be someone taking you step by step once you purchased it through each item in the library. For someone just starting out the language is not familiar at all. I’m finding out that this is so difficult that I just might of waisted 29.99 Show more

    Caution Users
We’ve been using the Pro version of Ferrite on a 12.9 iPad Pro to record our podcast. The layout and features are great. However, three times now we’ve lost episodes because they ended up recording over older shows. Date says modified but the audio is an old show. Other times we can’t tap on the recording to reveal edit options. Restarting the app resolves this but nothing brings back the lost audio. Unfortunately, we are now looking at different recording options. Show more

    Ferrite makes podcast editing fun
I know it can be hard to believe, but Ferrite makes editing my podcast fun. I am creating a narrative-style podcast with dozens of interviews and hundreds of audio clips, and bringing it all together in Ferrite is not only doable, it is efficient and enjoyable. I do wish for more file management options (given how many clips I am using), but don’t have suggestions on how to improve on that front (maybe ability to put clips in folders?). Regardless of that, this app is an easy 5-star rating. Love using it. And makes my iPad Pro a truly pro device for me. Show more

    Great app!,
Love the ease and that it specifically addresses what podcasters need without all the unnecessary complicated things that music recording and editing apps have. Editing for podcast is smooth and simple. Quality effects. I would support a Patreon if this developer had one. Show more

    Gamechanger
This app paired with an iPad and pencil makes editing so easy. I used to use garage band but can’t imagine going back. Best money I’ve spent in 5 years of podcasting. Show more

    Noise Reduction Scam
I really do not do this at all. I think I have never given a review before. This app is claiming they make “Noise Reduction” in its app. When you buy a product, you expect it to work as said. This is a scam. The app recognize when you are not talking and it “mute” itself. Very like what GarageBand does with their noise gate. I’m very disappointed with the app. I had so many high expectations. I’ve seen a lot of videos about the app and they never review their “noise reduction”. Look in Youtube all the videos about this app and “how amazing” it is. Well, let me get you straight, its fake. If I could give the app zero stars, I would. Show more
