I want to be able to edit off of an external ssd. I don't want to import all my files into the iPad and then offload them when done or whatever. Let me edit right off the ssd. Also, file organization isn’t the best. I wish there were some way to view things as thumbnails or it would group projects with their respective audio files instead of having everything randomly on the main screen. Show more

I started using Ferrite last year, and after a bit of time to understand how it works and finding a setup that's right for me, I now edit all of my podcasts in it. This is after using a DAW for a long time, which was admittedly quite overpowered for my use case. The few times I ran into weird bugs/issues, I got quick responses that resolved my issues. Ferrite accepts multiple recording rates (two of us record at 44.1, another records on their phone at 48) in the same project. Maybe a small thing, but it's great for me. It's not the tool if you like to process your audio a lot, and I prefer the Noise Reduction tool in Audacity way more, but it's the best tool for me to edit and do final processing with chapters. Indispensable now. One little thing is that there doesn't seem to be a way to select a different microphone; if I have headphones and a USB mic plugged in, it seems to flip a coin. Not a big deal because I don't typically record in Ferrite, but something I noticed. Show more

Verry bad app

I originally got this so I could walk around while editing podcasts/voice overs and do that kind of work while traveling. I never expected it to become my primary editing tool but that’s what happened. I haven’t tried recording with it but for editing, Ferrite + iPad + Apple Pencil = Bliss. The process for exporting individual tracks is a bit wonky and I’d like it if there was an option to speed up playback but those are minor quibbles. Considering what you get for the price from (last I knew) a one-man production, this one’s a no-brainer. Show more

This is definitely a great app for editing voice overs and podcasts. I record my own audiobooks and the features are awesome. Noise gate is a crazy feature, absolutely love it. One MAJOR problem, playback speed during editing is locked at 1x. This makes editing way slower than it needs to be, if it would even playback at 1.5x I’d be happy, but 1x is brutal! Please upgrade the playback speed and this is the best audio editor on the planet! Show more

I could not get up and running with the app. Paid $30 and uninstalled it 30 minutes later.

Very intuitive with pro features that rival pro desktop apps. A true gem, so glad I discovered this to record, edit, and tweak my podcasts. Keep up the good work!!!! Show more

I tried the same mic on several apps. Ferrite was hands down the winner without even touching any eq or anything.

This is a truly amazing app for anyone who does any extensve work with audio content. It is very well thought-out and designed with sound content creators in mind. It certainkly helps a great deal that the app is very much compatible with VoiceOver screen reader for blind users. The developer clearly cares about the users, as can even be seen from the user manual, which is well-organized, accessible and descriptive. Thank you, thank you! Show more

For most of my tasks it is no longer necessary to use my desktop computer. The latest version of Ferrite is wonderful.

Just wanted to edit a single audio file. After thirty minutes of futzing about with the interface, I can't find any way to just snip off the first nine minutes. Deleting with extreme prejudice. Really regretting buying the pro version before I had a chance to see how terrible the UI was. Show more

I downloaded this this app a couple of weeks ago and have not been able to record a single thing. The app freezes every time I open it. My co-host paid for his version and has the same problem. Not happy. Show more

If your starting a podcast the pro version is worth it. Invest in yourself trust me!

Bought this app to record myself singing. I start playing a song, then I open this app, song stops playing. Hmm...I am not trying to record the song: I just need it in the back ground! Try to import the sing of corse it says it’s copyright protected (duh). Went back to Vocalive and it worked flawlessly. Why on earth would you make an app to record yourself and limit it by stopping anything that is playin while the app is open? What the serious.... Too bad because it, a very simple and nice app. Show more

I think this is the first app review I’ve ever written and I’m doing so because this app is so well built. The builders of this app know exactly what editors need when getting their work done. I am so pumped to have found this app as it makes my podcast editing so easy. I like my podcast sounding professional/clean and this app gets it done so darn well!!! The Pro version is a no brainer because it easily saves me $29 of pain and time! Not sure of the names of the app builders but thank you guys for the work you put in on this. Show more

This is the best multi-track recording app I’ve found, and it’s a good one! The pro version gives great control over the external mic setup and the entire recording with effects. It’s a little pricey, but worth it. Show more
