This is a fun app that creates great tracks. The primary shortcoming, however, is the lack of a few critical features, including a minor triad and a 6th chord. This prevents the creation of a whole lot of country tracks, especially traditional country (eg, Earnest Tubb’s Thanks a Lot). Other misses include: stops only in a major chords, lack of a twangy telecaster, and no real sense of bluegrass rhythm guitar in the bluegrass tracks. Much more simple to use than Biab for Windows. And even though the variety of instruments is more limited, there are plenty of variations of song styles to suit most country, folk songs from about any era. You will have a suitable “bed” to build the rest of your song from quickly! Add your own vocals, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, etc. later after you send your song to garage band or cubasis etc. Don’t get me wrong Biab has it’s place, but this is about as close as you can get to Biab on ipad! Minor 7 or minor 11 is no substitute for a minor triad chord. What a poor decision on the developers for not including this most basic chord. It doesn’t reflect the requirements of the style it is trying to support. City of New Orleans sounds so wrong. Wayfaring Stranger? Just not possible. Great sounding, and easily customizable. this is a really fun app and easy to use. great job!

Country music with no minor chords is not going to work. Makes this app pretty much useless. If you can’t fix or update this , how about giving us back our money. You should know better. Show more

When I bring up an app, it freezes or will not play the music. It does not like Garage band as it will stop with it readily. UPDATES are needed

All latest SessionBand app updates rendered each and every one useless. I have all of their apps and can no longer use any. Thanks for nothing. Constantly crashing. Cannot do anything without the apps closing. Show more

I'm a professional keyboard player from Nashville. As a musician, this app really needs full on minor chords, diminished and augmented chords. Slash chords would really help too. It does have great things like 9th's, but for country you have to have the above mentioned. Saying all this, it's still an unbelievable app and I have even considered doing a new album using just this app, then dumping the track into GarageBand and recording my piano there. It's a clean sound and very well done. I now really want the three jazz versions! Show more

I would give this app a minus five stars if I could as this isn't just an "oversight" it's more like a mean spirited insult. Nobody presenting a professional product can be this stupid. No minor chords in country music? Give me a break already. Makes it totally useless. Show more

IF I had read the reviews first I wound not have purchased this app. The App does not support minor chords which are very common in country music. Without minor chords, the App is broken and of only very limited usefulness to me. Show more

I find a use for all the SessionBand apps I have, and this one is no exception. It's great for sketching out arrangements and practicing your instrument. My only complaint is that the piano parts are VERY basic. I could play better country piano parts, and I don't really play piano. I still like the app, though. Show more

I would give this 5 stars if it had minor chords. It could be a useful songwriting tool but I need minor chords. Seems like a significant oversight. Their other apps include minor chords. Show more

It's an ok app. There's a bit of a learning curve to the programing feature that isn't all that intuitive. If I could find something more straight forward I would use that instead. But I use the preset patterns for practicing scales and such, for that it works well. Show more

Country music like other music styles needs minor chords. Please add the ability to select a minor version of a chord.

I was excited to see that the country app was also available by these guys. I am not really into much of this genre so the 10 most popular country chords really helped me out when mixing some tracks for a friend. I really enjoy the layout of these apps and this one was just perfect for me and my buddy! Works well on my device! Show more
