Would be 5 stars but IAA not working
First, the good... This app sounds great, the live features are awesome, and the fact that you can buy individual effects instead of spending a ton on a bunch you don't need (like in BIAS FX) makes this one of the best. Now the bad, which is why it gets 3 instead of 5 stars... I have a lot of IAA effects, so I spent the 9.99 on the starter bundle to activate that feature, and I can't get it to work at all with my irig Duo, and when I just use the phone with no interface, the one IAA effect works, but none of the Tonestack ones do. It said something about sample rates... All of the effects I have would run at 44 or 48k, but there's no way to adjust.a sample rate in this app. Another problem I've had is when switching to a preset that has a lot of effects, it makes a loud noise that kind of sounds like what a noise would sound like if it went through that whole preset, effectively making changing presets during a performance impossible. I sent Yonac an email on their website over two weeks ago about both of these problems and still haven't heard back. If they weren't going to at least offer some support, I would have at least liked a refund for the starter pack. If these two problems didn't exist, this app would be almost perfect. Show more

This has such a nice sound and flow but no auv3
Any hope of a port? I’ve bought a few modules over the years. And magellan is a cool synth the whammy and pitch shifter in here are some of my favorites would love to use them more. Show more

    Pretty impressive
Tones and customization options are really nice. Interesting also that this has a solid harmonizer which was launched years before many of its competitors. Pretty good, one of the best out there. Show more

    Still in business?
Last update 3 years ago. Is there any update in the near future that could bring a background run feature?

    Favorite guitar app yet
This app is the is, to me, the most realistic modeling app out there. Amps behave like they have real tubes, sounds are great, decent price, and let’s you get nerdy, without over doing it like in bias. My two criticism are I wish there would be more updates and new amps and effects, and I do get a fair amount of buzz through my irig2 hd. The noise suppressor effect worked great, but can kill sustain on quieter notes Show more

    Great for gigging
Tube breakup is more real sounding than others IMO. Midi learn gives live gig options with BlueBoard and midi control knobs. I like it.

    Great, but one suggestion
It would be better if by default files recorded within tapedeck feature retained the bpm and last amps/fx which the file was last played or saved Is there a setting for this? Show more

    Question
What is the difference between Tonestack Go and Tonestack?

    Recording freezes
I love this app, it’s got a great range of sounds and pedals, I love that you can use Tonebridge with it, the only issue I’m having is when recording I will be laying down a second track and it will just freeze up. It will freeze while I’m trying to lay down a second guitar or at any random time. That’s very frustrating because I lose great recordings which renders this app useless to anyone experiencing this problem. I did spend money on it but that’s not even the point, I would love to use this app. Other than that it’s a great app. I’d love it if you guys could maybe update it with a fix or let me know if there’s anything I can do in settings. Thanks Show more

One of if Not The Best
Solid as a rock, updates don’t break the app (like some other sim apps). Great variety of amps, cabinets, effects, and mics. Should go down in history as a benchmark for iOS guitar amp sims. Show more

    Hands down the best
I have been buying multi effects pedals and amp modeling software for years and Tonestack really is the best I’ve ever used. The AB/Y capability opens so many doors. The tube amp models are incredibly convincing, and you can dial in a great breakup. Works great with GarageBand. The expansions offer tons and tons of effects, I’m enjoying playing with all the combinations. Show more

    Best rig simulation on IOS
Far and away the most fun in a full rig simulation on an iPhone. The dual signal paths are a gas to play with and no issues with running out of CPU on an iPhone 6. Didn't care for the models of the echoplex and elec mistress. A couple things I would like to see in a future release. A ping pong echo option and a simulation of a Dimension D chorus. Show more

    ToneStack go
I would not recommend this app for the Artiphon Instrument 1 on the iphone. I paid $9.99 and could not get it to work. Their help screens and manuals are impossible for an amateur to understand, as they refer to screens, controls and functionality within the app that you cannot find and they do not provide screen shots. While the midi in apparently recognized the Instrument 1 I could not get the app to recognize the Instrument 1 as a midi out amp. The company provides no email address for technical help. Don't waste your money. Show more

    Best amp modeler on iTunes
I've tried every amp modeler on iTunes. This is the best one. The feel and reaction of the amps is more realistic than others. There are more than enough fx to make any sound you want. Get a stereo amp rig going and experiment with cabs and mic placement making a huge difference in tone. I play thru high quality monitoring headphones or speakers. Not sure how it sounds for a live rig bypassing power amp emulation. Show more

    top of the heap
I've tried them all and this is by far the best sounding and versatile of the top 3: 1. ToneStack 2. Jammup (Bias) 3. Mobile Pod

    Dreadful GUI = fail
Sounds ok when opened (not superior). From there, good luck. At this point in the evolution of apps, a GUI this non-intuitive is unacceptable. Look elsewhere.

    Great app, even for pros
A lot of people write app reviews based on first impressions which is annoying. I have tested this app for over a year including using it in a professional studio setting. The tones sound completely believable alongside real instruments properly recorded. Settings can be customized to an amazing degree yet the interface is simple. This means you can spend hours geeking out or simply plug in and play. The basic sounds are as good or better than all competitors and some of the proprietary effects are unbelievably cool, as they are modeled after coveted pieces of gear that you will likely never have access to. The designers have excellent taste and don't push the user toward any particular style of music production. A++ Show more

    The best.
Out of all the amp sims I have ever used this one sounds and functions the best. Hardly ever bugs out, super reliable, amazing control and best of all the range of tones and fx available are the best I've ever seen. From warm rich tones to super mean gritty to totally out there stuff I've never heard. It's all here. And the support is amazing too. Show more
