    Keeping it fresh
I keep coming back to this iOS music app after being side tracked by the latest beat/groove machine/box. Believe me I love any iOS synth, beat, groove, dum etc... app they kind of keep me sane since I have no other outlet for my desire to jam or create sounds and music. After a while though they kind of grind me down even garage band. When that happens I break out Korg Gadget and Navichord then randomize some cord progressions it really doesn’t matter the key or tempo, then experiment with a cord or progression something always clicks because of the intuitive tools in Navichord makes creative/experimentation easy. I then get some arpeggios going on the the gadget instruments and the possibilities are endless. The midi is rock solid. One of these days I would like to use Navicord on an external keyboard then I would feel like Ludwig Van. Show more

    Intuitive informative and useful
This is one of the apps for iPad that are starting to be come completely valid production and performance tools. Whether you're a music theory noob or you are classically trained, this tool just makes sense. In addition to playing melodies and chords it's useful for teaching chord progressions. Show more

    An Essential iOS Music App!
5 stars for this App, as well as for the Developer. Navichord has been essential to my iOS music production and I certainly recommend it to anyone who needs rich and realistic chord progressions in their music. There is only one other midi-chord app in the store that can even compare. However, recently I have been instinctively pulling up Navichord to begin my chord progressions. Further, when I reported the midi-output bug a few days ago, the developer was very professional and responsive - and as you can see, the update was fixed within days. Awesome! Great chord app, needs more to be a complete song writing tool
The selection of chords are excellent, this app has tons of chords to use. Unfortunately, using it as a midi controller is pretty stale after awhile. This app has no rhythm features (so I can't make a rhythm or even use a preset rhythm to change up the feel of the chords when I hit play). If this app had some rhythm creator, where I could change the style of what's being played or work on the voicing of a chord when it's playing, it would be golden. The prime example of this is GarageBand's chord strips, which sadly has no midi out, but they perfectly implement great interface and lots of variation. If this app something even remotely similar to that, 5 stars all the way! But still a great app. (All this coming from a guitar player who wants to know how to play advanced keys/piano so badly!) Thing app is great
The advertising video doesn't really do it justice. I bought this looking for some inspiration for a video I'm making and within minutes I had some great ideas. It also helped me clarify my thinking about the musical feel I wanted for the video segment. Works great. Show more

    Essential for Songwriting & Performance
This is the best Chord sequencer I have used on iOS. It's very intuitive in the sense that you don't need to have a lot of knowledge in music theory to use Navichord. In fact, it'll assist in easily learning how to use the Roman numeral system of chord progressions and creating interesting melodies to go with them. It's fast, it's fun and for advanced users it has MIDI routing to specific channels. A great way you might take advantage of this is, let's say you have three instruments on three tracks, Navichord can route the root notes to the bass (channel 1), chord notes to the piano (channel 2) and the melody notes to a synth lead (channel 3). Basically allowing you to control and play all three with Navichord - giving you the sound of a full arrangement with a few taps. It even works well synced over WiFi with macOS when paired through Apple's Audio/MIDI app. An Essential songwriting tool for the studio as it's an excellent MIDI controller. It's also Universal! Traveling and don't have your iPad but want to jam? iPhone has you covered. Hope this helps you decide based on some key features I've enjoyed. Party on! Show more

    Nice app
Great app. Good chord structure insight. Excellent sampled sounds (particularly the piano)

    Awesome chord interface
The ability to route single midi notes to the chord pad and play your progression is brilliant. The tonnetz implementation is great. One wish would be the ability to more easily play more unique chord shapes with a single press. Major and minor in the triangle is cool, but maybe a way to press a button to activate like a maj5, then press root? Pressing weird shapes is kind of a pain on the screen. Too easy to miss the little dots. Show more

this is the most used app at this point on my music iPad

    Very good
This app is a very good midi controller. Its layout is simple to understand and playable. A couple of requests for development: A full screen mode for either chords or keys. This would give more playing area and more room for the x y cc control of the pads/keys. As it is it does not allow accurate movements due to small size. A dedicated mod wheel. Or since its on touch screen possibly a velocity wheel. The keys to have the option to be inline while in key. So the black keys in that scale would drop down to the white keys. Like Animoog or PPG. I appreciate the work already put in and realize these things may not be achievable. I recommend this app to everybody who asks! Show more

Quite Simply the MVP app on my ipad
I don't write many reviews, but I feel compelled to write one for this app because it is the single most useful tool on my ipad. It has changed the way I interface with my hardware synths and helped me become a better songwriter. I'm a guitar player by training, but a synth lover by heart. If my keyboard skills were as good as my guitar skills I'd be golden, but since they are not, this app helps me fill the gaps in skill by taking care of my left hand chording. I can't say enough good things about this app. If there were ten stars, I'd still want to give it eleven. Show more

    Was always good, but...
...this new update makes it a must have. Exceptional. April 2016: And again! November 2016: Still being polished, still top of its own tree. Recommended.

    A steady march past perfection
One of the few apps to continuously surprise me with its invention. It was a solid performer to begin with, but each update opens up new options I hadn't even considered. Show more

Already excellent, the updates make it better!
This app was already an excellent MIDI controller and has some awesome built in sounds. The updates just make it better whether it is the auto-player or the ability to easily create some neat sounding chords without having to have a knowledge of the piano keyboard. Very helpful for this guitar player who wants to play synths but doesn't know his way around a keyboard. Show more

    Brilliant update to version 2.0
The update to version 2.0 just made this an almost new app in terms of functionality. Everything from the pad layouts, scales, new graphics to the sounds work together really well. Also, the new sounds are really, really good (great strings and choir samples). IMHO that this app just quadrupled in value with this free update. Show more

    From "useless" to "very useful".
Sometime ago I gave this a bad review. That's no longer justified. They have turned this around, and made it a very useful tool. Get it.

    Awesomeness
Simple.effective .immediately inspired. Worth it. Solid with no bugs.

    Just got better
It was a solid app before, and with this update it is now a good app. Wish I had a way to quickly select a chord shape and play chords of those types automatically. Right now you're limited to major/minor triads. Show more
