    Great app but needs
This is a great app but it needs to be able to create and save a playlist. It could be stored on the server or on the local device either would be great. Show more

    Simply Horrible UI
Need to re-write the app by someone who has not designed the player. That means don't let a software Engineer anywhere near it. The UI is completely un-intuitive - sure there are the play buttons on the bottom but how to navigate, setup and play music or radio stations is "simply" (as the brits love to keep saying) missing. SAD. The player is very good. The connect app is terrible by todays UI satndards. Show more

    basic functinality
The app requires a lot of improvements. The basic operation is ok, but a modern control app for a fine network player as the cambridge audio is, there is only a limited functionality through the app. It would be nice to store playlists and group radio channels and not to have a limit of 20 favorites Show more

Poor app compared to the actual system
Keeps saying that there’s no valid library

    Needs a few improvements
I appreciate the continuing updates that fixed past problems. Here are some remaining items on my wish list: 1) It would be great if a button could be added to the now playing screen that would display the song file’s complete metadata. 2) Adding scrobbling support would be great. Show more

    Terrible app
[ISSUES RESOLVED: it took me a week of daily correspondence with support, but it now works. Pandora is still not supported, but it’s worth joining Spotify which has excellent integration here. Most will not have the problems I did. Excellent device and app once it’s working. Changing score to 5 stars.] You will not find a more inadequate app in any category, and online evidence is that this has been true for years, giving one little hope. The CXN cannot be conveniently used without an app, and this does not suffice. The value of the otherwise exciting CXN is much reduced by this, and better supported streamers should be considered instead. (If customer support can resolve this I will edit or upgrade this review.) - Adds songs to queue in random order, so no way to play an album as intended by the artist without manually moving them around. - changes to queue do not show until you exit it and return. Makes rearranging a ridiculous process. - no shuffle function, next track, fast forward or back. - does not show my connected USB drive or its songs at all. - contrary to online claims, no on/off or volume control (even with correct control bus connections). - its stripped version of Tidal lacks ability to save tracks, artists, or songs to favorites. - Instructions for connecting to Spotify through the app do not behave as described, and I have not been able to connect. Same goes for the advertised ability to add other streaming services. Not possible as far as I can tell. Maybe Tidal (a brand new addition) demanded exclusivity? - Pandora is officially no longer available on the CXN (not technically an app problem). What is? Show more

    Half-hearted
They still occasionally release updates, but no real improvements have been made since the beginning, except support for Tidal if you happen to have one of their most recent devices. I guess the budget is limited and no one at CA uses the app themselves. Only push buttons for volume, no memory for browsing location in library, navigation designed to maximize the amount of button presses to carry out the most common operations, and ... Show more

    Much better than Stream Magic
This Cambridge connect is much better than Stream Magic. You can even see the titles scroll across which was not possible with Stream Magic which would constantly lock up or not respond. This seems very logical and it’s design, and while not pretty, very functional. Very happy I have a good remote on iOS 11. Was panicking for a while. It’s important because the remote control on the minks is probably the worst I’ve ever worked with, working only 50% of the time and I’ve tried everything. It only works when you’re 5 feet away directly pointing at the receiver. The receiver itself however is six stars. Really great. Show more

    Features Don't Work
The shuffle feature makes no difference on or off, doesn't work. If you push Random on the unit remote, it leaves the playlist and plays whatever it wants. There is no "next track" button. Non existent user manual for either the app or the Cambridge Unit (literally NONE) Show more

    Barely Functional
Other users found the same limitations. I would love to use my CXN more but this app ruins it, so I find myself rather getting a record, CD or tape. My library is huge and the app needs to re-connect to the CXN and reload the entire library every time I switch apps on the phone or iPad. This is VERY frustrating. The album search function is useless. You can't do anything until the entire library has loaded even though the album I want is already visible. Very annoying. Cambridge Audio, please have a more competent developer write a good app from the ground up! Show more

    Please add scrubbing feature
This should be standard to be able to fast forward or rewind tracks!

    Works well!
I have been using this app with my Cambridge device since it was first developed and when it was Stream Magic. It has had a complete haul – and to the users advantage. To the users that have taken the time to comment negatively they need to look at their own network for a start. Also, those that say the app has not been developed is untrue. This is now August 2016 with last update in July 2016. The app even has a feedback section and you can even participate with the beta testing through the team at Cambridge Audio. As a user I like the simple interface, thank goodness gone are the day of steampunk style design (wood and copper knob graphics?!) of other manufacturers apps. It functions fine and does what it needs to do. I use hi-res music a lot and if not usually CD quality, from a wireless network and it plays them without a problem – if the network is behaving! It also has a wealth of other functions such as Spotify connect and internet radio with the abilty to save podcasts and m3u locations in 20 presets. People should enjoy their music or stop winging and provide constructive criticism. Show more

    Mediocre
I am using the app as my major contact point for accessing my 851n devise. functionality is sluggish, the device is sometimes not found, limited functionality...they should make a bigger effort here! Show more

    DOA
I wish I could write a thorough review for this app. Unfortunately my app will not recognize the 851N on my network at all. Player works beautifully and sounds amazing but it looks like I'm in manual mode until another update is released to fix this bug. iPhone 5s iOS 9.2.1 Show more

    Does the job just fine
After reading other (negative) reviews, I decided to add my thoughts. I received and set up my Azur 851N this afternoon. It's a powerhouse. I've been using the Cambridge Connect app for the last few hours and it's working just fine. It's easy on the eyes, it's reliable, and its functionality is very good. It's not going help us come up with an alternative to Einstein's special relativity theory, or cure one's propensity to write reckless, unfounded reviews on good apps. But it does what it's supposed to do: grant useful, reliable control of an Azur 851N. And for that, I am happy. Show more

    Seriously flawed
This app is simply no match for the excellent players it is supposed to support. It looks bad, constantly crashes and lacks the most basic functions (like searching for a title or artist). Please fix this app! Show more

Step backwards from Stream Magic App
It's not clear why Cambridge Audio have stepped backwards from the excellent stream magic app. Less visually pleasing, less intuitive and feature rich. I'm Still using the Stream Magic app.

Not off to a good start at all....
Let's ignore the fact that this is a bare bones depressing looking app, visually. Aside from that, the usability is pretty horrendous. Every time you open it, you have to wait for it to connect to your device, even when you multitask back and fourth. It also pops up to notify you what it's connected to once you choose the device you want to connect to (EVERY time you go back to the app) and you have to wait for the pointless pop up to go away until you can click anything. The song lists on albums show up alphabetically in most views instead of by track number. There are literally almost no customization options at all. I can go on and on, but all they need to do is use it and have some passion and standards, then hire (pay professionals) to build the app from the ground up. Right now as their "new" way to control the new CXN and 851N, this is truly embarrassing and I can only imagine how many returns these items will get based off the poor start of this app. Please put some serious effort into this app so these two potentially game changing network streamers can be taken seriously. Check out the Sonos app for inspiration. I want to like this 851N I just bought so bad, but the app ruins it. Show more
