    Bad support
There’s some good content but good luck cancelling your subscription when you’re done. The instructions don’t match what’s on the app and apparently there is no number to call. They kind of scam you into continuing your subscription. Show more

Their try for free is really one 1:30 second video
No real free trial, if you lie to me I am not really interested in learning more about your product

    No loop function
Need to have the loop function to repeat sections of song when learning them. I’ll be deleting my account for this one reason. I can listen to any song at full speed. But without slowing it down and looping complicated sections it’s no better than learning of the radio. Show more

    Great for beginners!
Well done! The lessons are short and well explained. Perfect for those starting out. I find myself looking forward to practicing. The fundamental classes are perfect for anyone playing for the first time. Each lesson is broken down to small steps and well organized. There is no need to hunt around where to go next. Show more

    Enjoying this App so Much
This is my 2nd go around trying to learn guitar. My 1st was in-person lessons 15 years ago and I was just not mature enough for them to sink in. Fast forward to present day and being stuck at home during a pandemic, I decided to give guitar another shot. This app was well reviewed so it was the first I tried. I love it! The lessons are structured in a way that let you learn at the most basic level but feel accomplished if you actually do the practice between lessons. I can’t recommend this highly enough. I feel like I might actually be able to play when I’m done here. The song selection from real artists is fantastic as well, they’ve included a huge library! You should definitely go through the trial period. The app will speak for itself from there. Once the trial is over, it’s reasonably priced and well worth the money. Show more

    Loss of content
If you can find material you like then it’s worth the cost. Problem is that many of the most sought after artists/songs are not available and quite often they loose that rights to that content. I would find another provider. Show more

    Love this app!
I bought a guitar off Marketplace for cheap & wanted to learn but was intimidated to start. I looked up YouTube videos but felt more confused. Came across an ad for guitar tricks & thought the free 30 day trial wouldn't hurt. The lessons are broken down to subjects and are very knowledgeable & well thought out. Receiving lessons from an experienced musician is such a great way to learn. Highly recommend ♥️♥️ Show more

Slovene Guitar Tricks hate the new App
The new App now has fixed windows that can’t be adjusted. You can make the video section window full screen but the tablature is isolated to the small bottom third of the screen and you can’t resize it, like before. You have to replay the video over and over again to understand what you can’t see in the tablature section, or pause the video, move the tablature around to see the noted, then unpause to follow along. The windows on the screen need to be adjustable again. Why do app developers keep refreshing the look of an App and breaking things that used to work fine? Show more

    App Very Poor
The website is great but the app fails in all the ways that the web interface succeeds. I just want to see my last lesson but I’m stuck interminably in Fundamentals I. Show more

I was not able to learn at all because you HAVE to pay
It’s a good app for people willing to pay but I’m not able to pay for the subscription so even if I go onto a lesson it won’t teach me anything so I can’t learn so I’m just going to go find some other free app that works Show more

    This app was awful
I don’t want to pay for a whole membership to play so I want to do the basics but they give you songs that you can learn only if you have the membership it was a 1 minute video explaining what would be done but I didn’t even get to play I’m highly disappointed Show more

    Love the app.
One suggestion though. I’d like to be able to favorite and save lessons like I can on the site.

    Best learning investment
The best investment I have made to improve my skills. Nice source of instructors and material. Best of all, I can open the app through my Apple TV device. Thumbs up! Show more

Guitar Tricks Is Great, the App is Lacking
I subscribed to Guitar Tricks to supplement my in-person guitar lessons that I’ve been taking. These lessons do a great job and add another element of review for me. It is also great to relax from the in-person training I am doing and just learn a song here and there. Using the program on-line is great, however, using the program on my iPad or iPhone leaves a lot to be desired. The two things that make the app almost useless are the inability to use multiple panes and the non-existence of the auto scroll as you are playing along in the lesson. I am a beginner and having to try to play guitar and then move the music every 5 seconds renders the app useless to me. I am not a good enough player to do this, if I was, I wouldn’t need the app or Guitar Tricks at all. To the first point, it is great that you see the instructor, but i want to see lyrics and the tabs as well and I’d like to be able to make all of these views dynamic (e.g. scrolling with the song, ability to loop, etc). Final thought, I have read other reviews that have mentioned that the app is confusing to navigate. I completely agree with this sentiment. Finding where you are in the lesson track is not possible in the app. They have link to the last “lesson” that you’ve watched, but that could be anything, a song you were toying with, an old lessons, a tutorial on some guitar maintenance. I started watching the lessons on my iPad at the beginning, only to realize that i skipped a bunch of lessons because there was no clear way to see what lesson I should complete next. As noted above, this review is just for the app not Guitar Tricks overall. I’ve been a member for 2 months and have been satisfied with the system. Show more

You have to pay before you can practice anything.
    Misleading as can be

    Crash
On iPad mini most recent iOS app demo runs allows login then closes. On a restart of app and iPad it just starts and closes. Really disappointed since I just bought premium service. Please fix the app or I’ll be going back to Yousician. Show more

    What I am missing
First off: This is the Course/subscription you want, if you really want to learn ALL the aspects with regard to playing guitar. However, the song library is severely missing content. There is hardly any Metallica (really!), not much Guns N’Roses etc. Layla from Derek & the Dominoes etc. there are just a ton of iconic classics that you would have to google (and find questionable instructors) On the songs that are there, I would appreciate a visual explanation of the Amp setup instead of just rambling it off. Lastly, I have not found a way to get feedback from instructors. Maybe I am not looking in the right spots, but this would improve the subscription. Show more

The Best Learning Tool For Guitar Period
Hands down the best tool I’ve used to learn. I’ve tried lessons, youtube and others but this has struck the perfect balance. I’m 53 years old and thought I would give it a try. The instruction started at slow pace so I wasn’t intimidated. The video tutorials were great, as is your instructors (give Lisa McCormick a raise!). It’s turned out to be money well spent and I look forward to each lesson. Keep up the good work! Show more

    Great app with awesome support
I’ve been using guitar tricks a long time now and I can say that they are committed to providing new content and updating their app on a consistent basis... this is especially important to me when I’m paying a subscription... I’ll continue to be a loyal customer as long as their support remains top notch Show more

    Clunky
App loads and allows login but when making a selection it promptly exits. Also, the display does not orient itself when rotating iPad. I’ll continue to use the online site.
