the worst application ever

It appears the latest update a few days ago is now causing the app to crash about 10 minutes into recording. I did a two hour recording before realizing that the app has crashed and when I tried re recording again it would crash at around the 10 minute mark every time. I have already turned on the airplane and Do not disturb mode. This has never happened before since I started using the MV88 and this needs to be rectified immediately. Show more

I bought my MV5 for more than two years and I enjoyed using it. But the recent update just make me a little bit annoyed. The app suddenly crashes since I have started recording like 6 or 7 minutes. I tried restarting the application and iOS, yet the result stays the same. And when it crashes, the recording cannot be saved. Hope your development team can fix the issue. Except this, everything works fine. Show more

I just noticed since the 3.7.0 update this week, that the app (using a 1st-gen MV88 and iOS 14.2) crashes randomly while recording within a few minutes. I then put on Airplane mode and disabled WiFi, and set auto-lock to Never, and checked that screen lock would be disabled when recording, but still had crashing. Show more

Last update 2days ago crashes continuously now. I want pre 3.7 back.

I have an MV88+ and i can no longer change the gain on the app, whenever i do the actual number doesn’t change and the actual gain no longer goes up or down. And i can’t use my old presets because it’s in the old update, so i’m stuck Show more

Awful. Irresponsible if sure not to get it right. It worked but stopped working with new iPhones

There is an ad to discover other shure microphone that has taken over the “device” page where you adjust the degrees that the mic will pick up, what type are f instrument, etc. boooooo Show more

I’ve been using my MV88 for several years now and only just started having issues in the last few months. The app constantly crashes when hitting the save button, making me lose an hour+ worth or recording each time. The only work around I have found is to have it continue running until it writes to the maximum file size (around 2 hours of recording). It will save the file and start a new one, which when I try to save, forces the crash. This is a critical breaking bug. Please fix! Show more

This is a great app to record music, narration, and other sound sources. I would love to see functionality to save recordings in the popular MP3 format in a future release. This would avoid time-consuming conversions. Show more

This app has a good interface but when you try to line up recorded audio with video recorded on a different device, the takes will not like up. The audio from this app is very slightly sped up, enough so it’s impossible to alight it with a video. Show more

In response to the developer’s feedback: I contacted support through the MOTIV Audio App & we’ve been troubleshooting all week. I doubt it is a connection issue bc you can tell the difference in sound quality when I record with the mic attached and unattached EVEN if neither app recognize the MV88+. We’ve deleted and downloaded both apps again, and adjusted permission settings but no dice. For the time being, I can set the parameters for the mic on the desktop app but the whole point of this line of mics is to be portable and easily adjustable with our mobile phones. It would be nice to be away from my desktop and still use the mobile app to adjust settings as needed. ****** Hi, I updated my iPhone 12 Pro to the latest iOS (15.3.1) in hopes that it would make the app functional again. But it doesn’t do what it used to, which is register my Shure MV88+, allow me to choose a setting, then record. Now it shows “built-in” as my mic and says the presets are just an example of possible settings but doesn’t actually impact recording, which is the opposite of what I want it to do. Do yourself a favor and go get an easier program to run it with.

It is a Pretty good app. It’s just hard to use. Very confusing at first. But overall a good app.?

No control with app with iPad ….. when will this be fixed ?

Gets to 50%-54% (Wi-Fi or cellular) and fails to update. Persistent across restarts and reinstalls. iPhone 13 Pro Max (fully updated). App doesn’t even register the MV88+ on my iPad Pro. Pretty useless at this point and now I’m considering returning the microphone. Show more

Has potential … but doesn’t even seem to remember your recording settings — so what good is it? :/ Also, it does save recordings to a folder accessible in iOS’s Files app. So far, so good. However — unlike the iPhone’s own Voice Memos app — there doesn’t seem to be any provision to save those recordings to iCloud(!). [If there were, there’d be no need for those silly “reminders“ to back up the recordings … since they already would be.] So, yeah: Meh. Show more
