This app does not work or connect to the studio W system. It says service unavailable whenever I try and connect. For a high priced speaker system, this app should work flawlessly. The other app definitive technology has for streaming music connects, so it is better than this non-functional utility app. Show more

Update. Looks better but they still did not fix the issue with pairing! So still won't pair rendering the app useless so I don't understand the update? The app will not pair! So it's unfortunately useless, witch is a shame because I like the idea to be able to upgrade. I have their other app witch pairs just fine, I like that they upgraded that app so one now can play pandora, Spotify and so on. Show more

The update does not fix anything, it just pops up a message saying "service unavailable, contact customer support for update".

Unable to pair with my W Studio soundbar. Definitive Tech mentions this app's functionality as part of the selling pitch on their website but without a successful pair, who knows what this actually does. Previous reviews (months old) state the same thing. Definitive Tech, needs to fix asap. Show more

App won't pair to my new W Studio soundbar. Contacted Definitive and they said this app is unnecessary for the W Studio as you can setup the soundbar with the other app. This should be included in the app description since many people seem confused. Show more

Looks like this is a common thread here that this app doesn’t work with the W-Studio. I can’t get it to pair either so this app is completely useless.

The Utilities App will not pair with the sound-bar. If you buy the W Studio Sound-bar, the base app is all that you will be able to use. The extended utilities app won’t help you (it won’t pair). DT should correct this. With that in mind, it is still a very nice sounding unit. Show more

After setting up the w studio on my wifi and my two additional W7 units, I tried this utility app and found that it will not pair with the W studio sound bar. The app is able to connect to the W7 units and tell me that no downloads are available. I was looking forward to fine tuning the W7 for the best sound but alas I cannot pair. Please fix this issue. The Definitive Technology wireless products are advertised to have remote functionality (input change, for example) through this app. I purchased 3 different units, including the W amp, with this in mind. While I think the sound quality is great, the advertised remote functionality from this app remains missing. Please update so that all advertised features may be used! Show more

All other Play-Fi apps will connect perfectly during and after setup, except the Utility app that adds the fine tuning preferences. A huge disappointment after spending $1300 on the soundbar.
