I keep getting an error message on the install of the additional component. When I make a dummy user account, and download the app from the store, it works perfectly and never asks me to download any additional component or anything, it just works. Whats the problem here? Show more

Note: My original review complained of lack of custom EQ; how to do this was not obvious to me; the developer responded, so I'm updating my review (thank you) First of all, the app has some great functionality, With this installed on Big Sur, I noticed some apps' volumes were REALLY LOW even though "Boom2" was NOT selected as the output. This concerns me greatly; as I'm not sure what's really happening under the hood. Uninstalling fixed that. BUT - uninstalling ANY Mac App should NOT be this hard. Opening the app and clicking "UNINSTALL" brought up a window that said "Please download the uninstaller from the web site". (with NO LINK). Searching for the illusive uninstaller the first few times (using the Googles) took me to the developers' web site where I found a script to download to remove it (really?) - it was only after like 20 minutes did I find an app to do this. I wanted this app for one reason, to use the EQ function to make voices over Zoom sound better. After downloading the app, you then have to download the EQ functions. I did so and then attempted to install them on a new MBP 16". I got a script error every time I tried. What's worse, I emailed tech support and they failed to respond. In my instance this was a waste of money unfortunately. Show more

With the latest updates in our macs, this app 1. Keeps crashing. 2. Will randomly not play sound unless you quit the app. 3. Has this odd bug where a 5 second loop of audio from a video that you are watching will randomly keep playing over the video audio, unless you quit the app. This app used to be great. Now it's just a flip of a coin as to how it functions. Show more

I'm using Audio Technica ATM-H50 headphones and the sound this app produces is terrible, no matter what I do with the EQ. Don;t waste your $$. I'm asking for a refund! Show more

I've had issue with Boom not letting the sound come out of the wired speakers that I had hooked up to the 3.5mm audio jack/headphone jack. I think that jacked up. I thought it was an issue becaue I was projecting onto the Apple TV, but even when not mirroring the screen, there was no sound coming out until I closed the Boom App. :( I like to really be able to eq my jazz with accented highs and lows. I figured out that if you stop the music and then TURN ON the Boom App FIRST, THEN play the music...you should be good. Show more

We have been using this app for years. Boost our volume from our Macs so everyone can hear. It is a standard install for us.

not worth the money at all

I'm on Catalina still, but it seems with the last update, Boom is now unusable. When I enable it, I get no sound, quitting, restarting, pointing to different audio sources doesn't work. Not sure what to do here. Show more

The update version of the app and the audio component now install normally on my M1 MacBook Pro running Mac OS Big Sur.
