I never write reviews of apps but using MusicPal I was compelled to give 5stars to the developers for this awesome resource. It's good for any musician especially beginners or students who come across a passage they have trouble with: you simply take a picture of the sheet music and then your device plays it for you exactly how it is written! I think it's amazing tool that can complement any teaching method or private instruction. Plus, by playing a musical notation recognition game in the app, you are actually helping the app to improve its ability to recognize various symbols. When I had it read some pretty complicated sheet music for violin, it had absolutely no trouble playing it correctly. Thank you to he team who developed this app! This app is amazing! However it would be nice if you could organize your music better and be able to export the file to apps like notion or to another notation program. I would definitely pay for that. Show more

New UI for the games. Neat! Looks like the developer is cooking new ideas to come.

This app is good for looking through a book and see how a song sounds. The app usually doesn't get every note correct but gives you a basic idea of how the song goes. The lighting has to be good and a steady hand when taking the picture. This app is a lot better than the other one I tried that scans songs. I do wish there was an 'edit' mode to correct any wrong notes though. That would be a good update. Also be able to 'annotate' would be great as it doesn't pick up the words or chord symbols. It's pretty magical when it works and when it doesn't at least you get a good laugh. That being said, it pretty much always "sight reads" better than I can given the same amount of time! The new games are neat. The feedback is much better now. Show more

Deserves more than 5 star !! so helpful LOVE it

I've tried a few other sheet music reader apps before and some were ok, but I can’t believe how good this one is at the price of… FREE! I like that it promises to get better too as I use it more and play more of the mini games. Show more

I’ve seen other apps that try to do this, but none that work even this well by far. It’s not always perfect, but it’s still really impressive. Keeper! Can’t wait to see the improvements. Show more

Very cool app, soo cool that you can hear the notes just by taking a pic.

Just snapped a shot of Radiohead "Let Down" and it played back! Breakthrough app. Permanent addition to my music folder. Well done!
