Great Idea - Difficult To Follow Along
I’m a piano and voice teacher, and I already use the Faber method books! I’ve looked into having my students use this app to use as a fun tool at home - especially since I can’t even play with them during our lessons online! The main downside I see, is that the moving line looks off when I tested out playing along to some of the songs with the backing tracks. I’ve looked into other supplemental piano software where the the moving line aligns accurately. I really appreciate that Faber is working on a program like this, but would love to see this element fixed - because even I think it’s confusing as the teacher! Show more

    Fantastic
I stumbled across this app while on the Faber website. They need to advertise this more! The importance of "playing along" is usually underestimated. Especially during COVID where so many teachers are using remote, you can't play along with your teacher--the timing doesn't work. This helps the student to learn to keep playing through mistakes. Also, the ability to loop over trouble spots is pretty cool. Then, if you have a MIDI keyboard, the ability to record and listen to yourself. You will hear mistakes that you didn't notice while playing--most teachers suggest recording yourself for that reason. Also, it shows you notes that you missed! Very intuitive, well laid out software. Some folks gave bad reviews because they thought it was too expensive or missing certain songs. I don't think they understand how much work goes into putting this together. I am also a software developer--I write software that tests other people's software. I can tell you this is a lot of work. Faber even says on their website, they are still working on adding material. For less than $5 per level, It is a great deal. When you think about how much lessons cost...SERIOUSLY?! Anyway, great job, Faber! Keep up the good work! Show more

    Great, but glitchy
The follow up works great and the book aids are good, but the pentagram won’t show, all I can see is the notes and lyrics on a blank space.

This app is good for my students, but the recent update crashes too much & the fonts is very hard to read in Dark Mode. Please fix these issues quick. My students love to play with The Band! Thank you. Show more

    Missing Books
I have used piano adventures for years. I love the series, but this is missing a lot of the supplemental books like the Disney and Hits. It’s random to you will see those books for some level, but not others. Those are my students favorites and as a traveling piano instructor and one who is now teaching online it would be helpful to have all of them and so the kids can download them as they move up. I also hate how I have to buy this in addition to the books. It should come for free if you buy a physical book or pay an extra dollar or two for the app addition like you do for college books. I also wish there was an interactive lesson for My First Piano. My students would respond so much better to that than a cd! I don’t have a disk drive on my Mac, let alone a CD player anymore. This needs to be upgraded or something better is going to come along... Show more

    Love the app...but...
I have been using the app for awhile now, and am halfway through the accompanying book. Until this past week, it was working fine. Now I have lost the videos, which is one of the most valuable parts of this app! Now, when I click on the videos, it brings up the table of contents for the videos, but when I click on a selection, it comes on turns to black like it’s going to start, then immediately turns back to the contents! It won’t play the video!!! I really used this part of the app, and really want it back! I have deleted it and re-downloaded it several times, but it doesn’t help! Is there anything else I can do to fix it??? Show more

    Glitchy software
The adult books have videos in this app but most of them will not play. As a piano teacher I wouldn’t want to use this with my students as adults are likely to become frustrated with the tech issues. Show more

Essential accompaniment for the solo learner.
The Faber Piano Adventure Player has been essential to my learning with the Adult Piano series. There are video introductions to sections and sheet music compositions that help with rhythm and queuing. It can connect to a digital Piano via USB or MIDI Bluetooth. I use it with my iPad and Roland HP603a via Bluetooth Audio/MIDI. The 3 things I would like to see in future versions: - Mark errors and score your attempt. I’d like to know where I need to improve or if I did it perfectly. Make it a game of sorts (earn stars?) - Support pedal(s) to start/stop/rewind. As of now I have to press play on the tablet and then rush my hands back to position. Left pedal (soft) one tap - rewind! Hold down - return to start. Middle pedal (sostenuto) start/stop. See Piascore it can be mapped! Show more
