    Crashed my computer
I downloaded the app yesterday, and today I was having problems I've never had before. I use a Mac Book Pro, and the key board and track pad kept freezing. When I'd try to restart the computer, it wouldn't restart normally. Finally once I was able to get back on, I had the suspicion it was the new app. Since deleting it, I have had no problems. The perfect mix of productivity and performance!
Up until now, I've kept a tattered binder of printed sheet music with me (which often gets lost between lessons). I love how easy it is to organize my music and rehearse outside of lessons. Because I don't play the piano, the instrumental playback with tempo options is a game changer for me! Big fan! Show more

    Used to be a 5
Editing my previous review. Restarted my iPad this morning, and purchasing worked fine (perhaps the I.T. Crowd solution would have fixed it last night). Correcting my previous statement: purchasing sheet music is/was routed through the app store. Now that it’s working, I’m happy to give a much higher rating. It still used to be a five. The only reason that I’m giving it a 4 is that during my troubleshooting, I couldn't figure out how to access my account details from the app. I had to go back to my MacBook and access the website. I’d prefer to be able to have the same functions available from device to desktop and website, so that wherever I’m working, I can take care of what needs to be done. Another UX note: When purhasing music, only the first page is available to view. I understand why they’ve done it this way, but I’d like to check the accuracy of some passages or see how the transriber handled the arrangement before purchasing. I’ve managed to make all my purchases work, though. Leaving my previous review below for reference. ---------- Used the app for several weeks, then something broke. It might have been that I upgraded the app(?). I can’t buy sheet music anymore. Pretty sure I was using PayPal previously. Saw a notice that the app now accepts ApplePay. Activated a card on ApplePay. Still no good. The core competence of the app should be to purchase and download music, and here I am trying to figure out how to give the company my money. Also, the iOS app offers confusing feedback as to whether I’m a Pro member. I see the Pro member price, but there’s a button prompting me to learn more about being a Pro member—this while I’m logged in (I logged out and logged back in, too). Also I can not seem to be able to access my account information within the iOS app. Perhaps I can, but a reasonable rule of UX/UI is that if you can’t find it, you can’t do it. I completed a service request on my iPad, tapped the Submit button, and the screen went blank—no confirmation that my request was submitted. No email yet that it was submitted. Musicnotes, if you can get this to work, great. I’m open-minded. Otherwise, we need to discuss refunding or pro-rating my Pro membership fee for the month. If the core function can't be worked out in the next few days, I’ll have to find another service. Show more

    Costs more in the app
I was told that in the IOS app I would see $1 off on prices, however the price for the piece I was buying was $2 higher in the store than on the website. La La Land Suite Show more

    Works Perfectly
As of October 15th 2019 this app has absolutely no issues whatsoever. I can open all my music, zoom in and out, etc. Perfect.

No Playback Features - Pretty Useless for Practice
Incredibly dissapointing playback features. I don’t understand how this wasn’t a top priority when developing the app. You cannot select what note/measure to start playback from, nor can you loop a section, alter tempo, or anything else that would seem common sense to include. I can’t imagine that if you have a program that can read the MIDI from the sheet music it would be all that difficult to include these features. Sheetmusicdirect.com has these features built into their website. I think I’ll be getting more of my sheet music from them from now on simply for this reason. You guys need to get on this problem ASAP. Otherwise, what’s the point in donwloading this “player?” Show more

    Worked great for me!
initally, I looked at the 2.5 star rating and almost took a pass. I downloaded one song to check it out and was not disappointed. Within, 5 minutes I had the song I needed and was easily able to transpose it into a brighter key. I'm not sure what everyone elses problem was but I had no problem with my Mac. I may look at going with the Pro option after I look at the library of available meaterial. Very happy so far! Show more

Music not showing up in library
Everything I downloaded for free shows up but nothing I paid for is showing up. And with the minimal controls, theres nothing I can do about it. This app is completely useless. I've been using music notes since I was very young, before I had to pay extra for PDF printing and when the sheet music was like $3 (AKA- before this company got greedy and stingy with printing / formatting / etc). I still use it because they have everything and its composed nicely. I'm disappointed this company, website and app, have seemed to go downhill. Show more

    Abysmal
Being a guitar player and familiar with Guitar Pro and some of the fairly powerful music viewers for that I expected some level of functionality from Music Notes. Not for it to necessarily be that in depth, but I mean even really basic stuff like skipping to a section in a song seems to be missing from the OSX App. It's truly unbelievable that if I want to hear a section of the song at the bottom of the page I have to play it from the top. And if I want to reduce the tempo and practice a looped section? Nope, not on the computer for some reason, better pull out the phone with the iOS Music Notes app for that. Such a joke. Use Music Notes for the paper sheet music, but if expecting any sort of digital functionality then look elsewhere. Show more

    Mac Book Pro
I am not able to view my music on the app once it has downloaded. I am hoping that there will be an update soon. Impossible to study before printing and trying to read music on an iphone screen. Show more

    Update Needed
Mac users are having difficulty using this app, since Apple's Mojave update. It would be great if Musicnotes could be updated this year, as it was a very useful app in the past. Show more

    Useful!
Good app. Love the markup tools, but it desperately needs to add Apple Pencil support. Otherwise, I find the features helpful.

    Great learning aid
For what I do, learn particular songs, this app is a good aid. You organize your music, modulate between keys, modify the tempo , adjust music settings for guitar chords only. It’s also pretty intuitive. Show more

    Very helpful
I haven’t experienced any of the anomalies that I’m reading about in others’ reviews. So I’m on board with the service—the printing from the URL as well as the app. I’m pleased that the app plays the chords and melodies, even if the page turns are clumsy and don’t respond in real time. Nice that Musicnotes provides this app
There are quite a few publishers providing paid sheet music and Musicnotes is one of them. I have been buying sheet music from Musicnotes and other publishers for years. Musicnotes sheet music is excellent. Their purchase price is on par with any other publisher and the restrictive printing policy is part of the industry, not this or any other company. This app works exactly as described. Providing an app to organize music they publish is a feature. Maintaining that app on the app store is indicitave of the quality of the company: Apple vets apps you download here which protects you from malware. Show more

    Lame software
Transposing limited, worked for my needs but why not every key? The playback feature is a great concept, abysmally executed. It can’t rewind, loop, skip… what were they thinking? This is as primitive and featureless as software can be and still be called software. Amateur effort. I will look for other publishers who take some pride in their product and show a little more interest in their customers. Show more

Won’t Let Me Sign In Because It Says I’m Not Connected
Not sure what else to say—I am connected to the internet but when I try to sign in it says I need to connect to the internet. There does not seem to be a way to troubleshoot this problem. Show more

Takes your money, but does not let you print
I tried unsuccessfully to print from the website. I thought maybe I should try the button that says download app. When I did this after I paid a second time for the sheet music I expected that I would be able to print out the music from the app, but instead I just got a message that said all my prints had been used. Ultimatley I got nothing and they got my money twice. In other words, I got robbed. Don’t use this or the online service. Show more
