This app is kind of useful, but perfect pitch is not a teachable skill.
Perfect pitch is something some of us we’re fortunate, or unfortunate, to be given at birth. While I do admit it is helpful being able to sign and note by name at the correct pitch, and it’s also great for songwriting.. it’s also a curse sometimes. It’s almost unbearable to attend live performances the majority of the time because we can’t just “not hear” every note the artist or band painfully plays or sings just a little pitched up or down. While everyone around me is just gleefully singing along and enjoying the “raw” aspect of the live performance, I am cringing at every minor vocal pitch mistake.. or that one backup guitar player who’s A string is inadvertently out of tune a half the entire time. It’s hard to explain, but the impact of these little “mistakes” gets far more attention from my perfect pitched brain than the rest of the music. So, maybe just enjoy not having perfect pitch be part of who you are. It’s not that great, all things considered. Show more

    Not a free app
Please make it so the people can see the in-app purchases they have to make in order to use the app. False advertising runs deep in this one.

    Slow running
After you complete enough levels the app starts to slow down and will sometimes just kick you out of the app altogether. Besides that it is good but not worth a reoccurring bill and because of this I’m unsubscribing bye Show more

    Request for a Voice Recognition
Hi I’d love voice recognition of note names on this already great app. So I’d be able to close my eyes and say the note :)

    Super helpful for aspiring musicians
To start... I got this app because I wanted to have a better ear. I absolutely love the aesthetic, and the exercises are really fun to me. I use this app somewhat frequently, and I can easily say that it’s one of my favorite apps of all time. The good things... Like I said before, this app looks totally amazing. Super clean and professional, and the theme colors to pick from are all pretty unique. Also the little sound wave that moves when you tap is really nice to look at. My favorite exercises are the interval one and the chord one. I can see both of them being really helpful to students who want to be able to sound things out with ease. I also love that the app is not really annoying with notifications. The only one that exists is the optional daily reminder, which is great. It is genuinely a useful tool, sitting and waiting for you to choose to use it. I dig it. Some improvements... More exercises please. I am very happy with the current selection, but once you get really good at them, it’s hard to feel like you’re really learning something. I would love to see a version of the interval exercise where you play the notes given, with an onscreen keyboard. Another idea is an exercise that plays chords or notes from a key, and you have to tell which Roman numeral it is assigned to. I think this would be super great when learning to pick out songs from the radio by ear. A bit too much money for premium. If there were more exercises, better ways to tailor the experience (ways to set your own challenges), and a bit more content that came with premium, I could easily see myself paying upwards of $50-$60 a year tops. Maybe I’m being cheap, but I feel like $90 is a bit too much. Overall... This app is incredibly useful to anyone who wants to train their ear well. Although I don’t think perfect pitch can be taught, they sure have some amazing exercises that can and will help you recognize chords, intervals, and in general have better relative pitch at least.
