    very difficult to cancel
I subscribed for my child, they preferred another site to this one. Just personal preference. I tried to cancel my subscription via the app and it’s not possible. There isn’t a link for help with your subscription, nothing. I dislike this tactic. Show more

    Love it, but…
I absolutely love this app - I tell everyone about it and highly recommend it. But, I just did the update and I’m not loving it. Yes, it looks a little nicer, but I can no longer see the last time I did a lesson, which was important because I hadn’t played in a while and was reviewing. Also, I’m noticing a little bit of a delay which I never heard in the older version. That being said, this is a wonderful, fun way to learn. I bought it to learn some basics, but apparently,I’m going to learn how to read music, too! ? Show more

    Songs not loading
Love the app and the music and tone. Learning right now together with my kids. However, the songs won’t load on one of the iPads that has the app. The bars just keeps rolling and rolling and not loading. There is sound from the piano but the notes is not there. Tried to reinstall the app but to no avail. On the other iPads it works. Need help on this please! On another not. Please add “Blessings” by Laura Story. Love the song and would love to learn how to play in piano. Thank you. Show more

New version not as good as before - almost unusable
I use headphones so as to not disturb the family while practicing. Gaining through the aap, there is about a half second delay between pressing a key on the piano and hearing it through headphones connected through app. To get around this, I thought I would plug a second set of headphones into the piano directly and wear a second pair of headphones underneath that I connect to the app and simply turn down the piano track in the app. That is when you suddenly realize that the backing track is actually out of sync with the metronome! Trying to actually hit the correct key and have he app register that it was hit at the correct time is next to impossible. Further grievances with the new version include placement of the pause/play button directly in between the buttons for previous and next lesson. About 25% of the time I try to hit play and end up going back to the prior lesson or skipping to the next. Finally, I loved the holiday challenges that were taught using instructors and videos. However, that quickly disappears once you start down the bootcamp. Then you are basically on your own again. I ended up walking away for months out of frustration. I purchased this product because of those video tutorials as I could not work with a real instructor during Covid. I ended up just watching YouTube videos to learn to play. In the end, this was a cool idea with a failed application and poor tutorials. I wasted my time and money. Show more

Simple and easy to use method
Excellent design. Learn in steps and play your favorite song

    Synchronization
The indicator requires that I press the key before it’s directly on the note. If I don’t press the key right before the indicator appears on the key, your given an error or red note. Show more

    Much Improved!
Update 1/24/22: Playground Sessions has finally upgraded their app and have addressed all the issues I had below. The developers have worked hard on providing a better experience and it shows. The content in this app is fantastic. I’m building my skills and can definitely see/feel/hear myself progressing. However, the app experience is very poor. 1) Each month you get 5 songs to download from the store. However, you cannot do this in the app. You must do it though the desktop version. 2) When you complete a lesson, it takes you back to the first lesson in Rookie level. Which is just annoying. 3) Bootcamp and courses aren’t in two sections like they are in the desktop version. This makes navigation more difficult. 4) There is no way to see your accuracy percentage of a lesson in the app. It’s either complete or not. On desktop, you can see how accurate you were and return to those lessons easily. This app hasn’t been updated and it really shows. They have had plenty of time to improve the experience, but have chosen not to. Bad form. Show more

    Bummer
Love the whole thing. But videos freeze and sometimes the keyboard is not recognizable. Everything is brand new. So bummed. Please update your app.

An excellent example of a learning app!
everything works way better than I expected. Simple to set up and get going. I’m learning quickly and having a lot of fun!

    Great way to learn!
I did not know how to play piano at all when I started playground sessions and after a few months I have learned so much! I’m really enjoying how the app connects to the piano and allows me to work on both the foundations of learning as well as timing. The instructors are also excellent. Overall a great way to learn! I’m Almost Good
Slowly working my way through rookie boot camp and amazed at how far I have gotten in about a year. Issue with MIDI on iPad Pro not always working, requiring a reboot to connect. Still, I highly recommend. Show more

    Something is wrong
The reason I gave this 5 stars is because on my mothers iPad it works well and I love it! But on my iPad for some unknown reason it won’t load so I can’t even log in. It simply just shows the purple screen with the playground icon on it. Other then that I love the app but it would be wonderful if you could look into it and figure out what’s wrong :) Show more

I am 75 and this app works wonders for me
Playground was recommended to me by my daughter who learned to play with Playground. I was amazed at how quickly she learned and how much she enjoyed learning. I never thought i would be able to learn as well at my age, but to my amazement, in just 2 months I am playing way better than i ever thought possible. Playground makes it so easy. And now i am recommending the app myself. It’s really great, i am very happy. Good luck Show more

The Sound Is As terrible As the Support
My Clavinova 785 in Playground Sessions has a tinny sound and echo — both annoying. Can’t find support for getting rid of them. Outside of Playground, the tone is quite nice. Also, after not using the program for a spell, my progress is missing and the user interface has been “improved” downward! Is anybody paying attention? I am regretting my lifetime membership. Minimal effort seems to go into the support for this product. It seems to be almost on auto-pilot. Show more

    Changed
Not sure what or why but it’s changed completely. Very simplified interface and not easy to navigate in an intuitive way that i’m used to. made a lot of progress and now i can’t tell where i’m at. Should be able to switch back to the old version. Show more

    Love it
This app is great for all ages. We got a family plan and this has been great for my preteen and us adults alike. Besides being much more cost effective than private lessons, I find it to be much better. With traditional lessons and practice, I find the practice often times means practicing mistakes, etc but with play sessions you get immediate feedback on whether you are hitting the right notes or beat…so you aren’t picking up bad habits and your practice is effective. I love the song diversity as well and that most of the songs are recognizable to me, whether they are a classic, from the 80s or something current. I highly recommend this. Show more

    I am very angry?
    1. I can not connect the piano and the iPad together so half of it is pointless. 2. The keys are way to small on the iPad so I can never tell which key is which. All I am saying is that I hate this learning app I am deleting this app now? Show more

    Great Way to learn piano!
I learned piano as a kid starting at 8 yrs old through HS. After that, I got busy with life and playing piano was squeezed out for 35 yrs. Two yrs ago I bought a electric piano, a iPad and joined Playground Sessions for piano lessons. I had no idea if I could still read music. A few lessons later … I’m impressing myself with my progress. Playing with a backing track w violins and orchestra is absolutely the best fun. ? Show more

    Note size
The size of the notes are too small for iPad use. I make errors mostly because note and number difficult to see.
