    Horrible
Downloaded app, free trial....no, can’t even get to free trial —-something is broken in app. We didn’t even get a chance to see what it was about because after it asks your age group, it takes you to next page asking if you have played violin less than a year, more than a year, or this is my first time. I can’t even press anything to make it go to next page. I wrote support at Trala (4)days ago ; still no reply while my trial time is wasting. Poor customer service, well I did not receive any customer service. I’m ending free trial and deleting app. Show more

    What can I say!
I was told years ago I could never learn by my dad. I lost all passion for music and trying out after being told that. Skip forward many years later and I got a spur after listening to an electric violin player and was like I am going to do it. Then again life threw me curve balls. I did not know how to start, where, or even who to ask. Come to Christmas this year. My wife buys me new strings, shoulder rest and gives me the confidence to try this time. She uses the app for her piano and was like their is one for violin. So today I got started and just wow. I wish I started so much sooner. Still just in the trail and learning for ground zero but the lessons so far are easy and great to understand. I am overjoyed on hearing myself play and wanting to say thank you for all the teachers on this app for making these lessons and giving us your experience to help us old guys fall back In love with a passion we lost. Disappointing
Disappointing, I could buy an actual good tuner for less than 120$ but of course you guys are going to charge that for only an year.

    Love It So Far
I am new to violin, but I play several other instruments. I’m not classically trained on any of them, so I don’t have a background in reading sheet music. I started with the Beginner lessons. For the most part they use the colored notes that other music teaching apps use, but they also mix sheet music into the lessons. I’ve been surprised at how quickly I’ve been able to pick things up, and I’ve even been able to read simple sheet music from the internet. Of course there are some elements you can only get from in person lessons, but I think that is outweighed by the convenience of completing lessons on your own time and having guided practice sessions. I’ve found that the app works best when I use my iPad and headphones. Show more

    Awesome way to learn violin
I just started playing a couple weeks ago, and this app is really helping me along, especially because I don’t have a teacher (covid, ugh). It has the best tuner I could find. It was much more helpful than the physical one I bought online, and it was way better than all the standalone apps in the App Store. Plus, the video tutorials are great and cover all kinds of basics. Of course, I’m still watching lots of YouTube videos to cross-compare and learn different things, but this app has a ton of beginner knowledge in a nice format. The songs are nice, and it picks up my violin sound really well. I don’t like that it always starts me in a song or exercise without sheet music. I can read simple sheet music just fine and would rather always practice that. I also don’t like how frequently I have to click in the app. Repositioning my violin every minute or two after clicking in the app is kind of annoying and takes away from whatever skill I was trying to focus on. At least if I’m on a song I like, I can have it auto repeat. I have at least one lesson group where I cannot figure out which lesson it thinks I haven’t completed, so I can’t get the stars on it to mark it as complete. I guess it doesn’t matter, but it’s kind of weird. Fundamentals How to Tune is the one I’m thinking of, and I wonder if it’s the actual tuning part because it only has me tune E. I don’t see a way to make it do anything else on this particular lesson, though it works fine in other lessons and on the tuner. Show more

    Very Beneficial to learning
I have been using Trala for a little over a month now. I have learned so much. Sam is so knowledgeable and takes the time to explain and demonstrate what I’ve been struggling with. This app has been beneficial to me on my self taught journey. Show more

    Forced live lesson?
They force you to do a live video call 1 on 1 with a tutor. I got an app because I don’t want to deal with another human, why would you make that part mandatory, just let me use the other features..... Show more
