The best thing about this app for me is how easy it is to keep track of what you’re practicing, at what BPM, for how long, and any issues. The practice log and note-taking system are so useful to help me organise my limited practice time. Add to that the playlists and of course the metronome itself, and you have a complete practice solution. The support from Joe, the developer, is really great as well. Show more

It’s easy to make a pattern. Elementary programing. If that’s what you do. But...TOO HARD TO MAKE IT DO WHAT YOU WANT IT TOO! TOO TIME CONSUMING!

I’m beginner at drums and intermediate at guitar. I love the voice option. 1 e + a 2 e + a....etc! And it records all my practice times and you can print them out in PDF! Like a report! You can easily track your practices. How long. What you did or what bpm u worked on yesterday or last week! Everything is recorded with the Polynome. I just back it up and it’s stored! I got the $20. Well worth it. Even though I have free metronome apps. I haven’t even scratched the surface with this thing. Just what I was looking for!!! Thanks for the quick email replies Joe!!!! Show more

This is absolutely one of best investment I’ve made for improving my drumming skills. PolyNome Pro is by far the best Metronome I’ve ever tried, with endless possibilities and features which makes training timing on drums both interesting and stimulating at the same time. Plus I simply love being able to log my daily drumming and review later on how much practice time I have put in each day of the month and what I have practiced each time. Fantastic app! I have recreated various bars from drum books so I can hear complex patterns and learn them much faster than reading alone. I’ve used it to get my head around a 4:3 polymeter, entered as a polyrhythm but it works well for that and doesn’t get off tempo, which happens when running two individual metronomes (two devices) simultaneously. I use the auto advance playlist feature for pad practice. Most metronomes will change the BPM automatically but only for a set amount of play time (for example +10 BPM every 3 minutes). PolyNome’s playlists allows you to do 1 minute at X BPM, then 3 minutes at Y BPM etc etc. There is a bit of a learning curve so don’t think that you’re going to rock this in the first 5 minutes. I’m usually weary of apps that require a learning curve because you take the time to learn them and then the developer abandons the project. In this case I’m getting a lot out of this app and I get the feeling it will be around for a while so I’m putting in the time. For me, it’s a fun app to play around with so I spend non-drumming time getting to know it better. Show more

Although I use Tempo on occasion, it does not allow you to “learn” or map MIDI. PolyNome does and now I have my BopPad set up to control the app. And I’ve found it is just as quick to program a Playlist (even when the set gets changed at the last second!) as Tempo. PolyNome is super deep, but also easy to use for basic gig stuff. Show more

Definitely a cool concept but it’s just way too complicated and clunky to enjoy. I end up spending more time trying to navigate the app then actually practicing. Spent for the pro version but unfortunately going to try and look for something a little more simple and efficient. Show more
