This app is great to mess around with and upload things to insta.

I felt compelled to write this review because there are so many bad ones. This app is seriously amazing, it just seems there’s some confusion around connecting it to the EAD10. You need two very specific cables: a USB 2.0 A-male to B-male (NOT 3.0 and no more than 10ft long), and a genuine Apple Lightning to USB camera adapter (USB, not USB3, and the CAMERA adapter only). You also need to connect everything BEFORE powering on the EAD10. Basically, follow the EAD10 manual to the letter, and the app works perfectly every time. Show more

This app would be a lot better if Yamaha didn’t make you spend $500 for a piece of recording equipment like the EAD10 to record with. They should include the recording capability. A practice app just isn’t enough. Also explains the low review rate. Yamaha should include recording and mixing of volume only and save the effects for the EAD10. Just my opinion. Show more

Really great app but the click feature needs some tweaking. If the tempo changes in the tune whether on purpose or maybe the song didn’t use a click to track to or the drummer is excitable or lazy, the click gets confused and doesn’t track well which i guess is understandable. However on a tune where the tempo is solid throughout but say the “beat” eases up.. for example: the bridge to “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette, the tempo stays constant but the rhythm gets quiet, the click basically goes “¯_(ツ)_/¯” and then it finds if way back to the tempo of the song as soon as the loop drums pick back up. I agree with brooks cherm the same thing is happening to me not only that tho but I keep getting kicked out of the app every time I go to my playlist on there( the app) , so right now this app is useless . You guys should really do some serious MAJOR updating if u ask me . Show more

The EAD is a fantastic device for practice and even recording, but the app is horrendous when it comes to playing purchased music from Apple, and even downloaded songs. Yamaha, PLEASE take notice of all the bad reviews and do something about it. Show more

None of my music on iTunes will work. Used Dropbox it played the songs but the click is bad off. I use the EAD 10 to practice my set lists on planning center whenever I drum at my church. I really wish Yamaha would fix this app! Show more

Where do I even begin? -Hardly ever recognizes the unit even though I have the proper usb -Click mapping is a joke -Won’t remove the click from the audio after recording videos. Customer service told me that this has always been the case and the click stays in the video, but that is 100% not true at all. I have multiple videos on my social media that show only music and my drums. No click. Even emailed them the links to the videos so they could see and hear for themselves, but got nothing back. -Crashing and deleting every video saved on it. -Music volume in videos is insanely loud no matter how much I adjust the level. About to just sell mine because this is a joke. $500 for something that doesn’t even work the way it’s supposed to. Show more

Whenever I go to select my iTunes music is says data cannot be selected

Recently purchased the ead10 and got the rec n share app and from the get go the app had flaws 1. Had to set the camera quality to high to get it to record 2. Couldn’t get my apple account to pop up on the app for songs I wanted to record along to and had to create a playlist via Apple Music and when you go to click the playlist the rec n share app just crashes 3. Could only use songs downloaded on Dropbox 4. After finally practicing and finally getting comfortable with the song when you go to record the camera just doesn’t want to record via the app I paid $500 for the ead10 and honestly would rather have an app I paid for with 100% user functionality than a free app that doesn’t work at all. The EAD10 is great, but the Rec n Share app isn’t guaranteed to recognize your iPhone. Sometimes restarting the app helps, sometimes not. Expect some downtime if you have a drumming channel. Show more

All of the songs I recently downloaded to iTunes won’t work with the app for some reason. An error comes up that says “this data cannot be selected”. What is the point of this app if it can’t do the main thing it’s supposed to do? Show more

This app is such a great idea, and when it works (about 30% of the time), it’s amazing. But a majority of the time, this app will frustrate you to no end - not recognizing your iPhone, even though it did just a few minutes earlier. I use this app to record quick scratch tracks for other bands, and the lack of consistency has delayed projects left and right. So disappointing. Show more

App stopped working on BF’s iPhone 11 max pro. Downloaded app on my iPhone 8plus and still doesn’t work. Calling customer service doesn’t work. Chat customer service says they will have someone in touch. All of our OS on both phones are up to date. Seems to be a waste of time and money. Lame. Show more

$500 for the EAD10 to be used with this Rec N Share app and its GARBAGE! The app crashes, won’t recognize the connection and won’t sync drums & video!!!! Seriously Yamaha??? Get your act together or stop selling the EAD until It does what you claim it can do! Show more

One of the main reasons I bought the EAD 10 was to be able to use this app. It flat out doesn’t work. It just keeps telling me that it doesn’t recognize the EAD10 that it’s clearly connected to with the proper iPhone adapter. Show more

Love it but PLEASE allow us to change the pitch of the pre-count clicks. If you’re wearing headphones it is brutal.

Most of my my iTunes library isn’t available for use with this app. When recording it rarely works because it doesn’t acknowledge that the lightning cable is inserted into my phone. Incredibly frustrating. The recording capabilities were the main reason I purchased this app and now I wish I hadn’t. This could be such a great tool but Yamaha needs to fix all the bugs or it’s useless Show more

It can be a pain. The tempos are off more than they are on, on my iPad. On my Android phone the tempo works great. You also can’t make the click Lowe, or quieter than the music. So, even with in ears, the volume controls are not independent. Show more
