The earphones on the little mx4 and linkS regularly pick up noise from other voices when its on… especially in a noisy voice environment… So you got to get t to a quiet space to talk.. before when this was first released it worked well.. just like my jabra over head work headset Show more

I love the headphones, except the overall volume is lacking.

Noise canceling makes me nauseous. But every time I turn off ambient sound it turn on automatically by itself and I need to go back into the app to turn it off. If i can now only use it with an aux cord what’s the point of a Bluetooth function. Please fix this. Show more

how about auto off if nothings playing from the headphones rather than the off the ear thing, i think i have light autism or something but i can’t wear headphones with two ears so they shut off on my head if i don’t want them to stay on and die when i go to work. please . wxm2 Show more

I like the manual equalization. Recordings are much more enjoyable with it. Old analog recordings that have been digitally remastered sound really nice with it.

Biggest draw back for how easy they fall out no way to find them and for what they charge how cheaper ones have that feature

Please bring back surround VPT that was on XM3 to XM5. One of the main reasons why I upgraded. Or at least publish the settings to get the various modes in the equalizer. Such a great feature being discontinued. Show more

Buds sounds great! compared to airpods pro and they stay in my ears!! App feels very Android-ish with a marginal complicated design…and trying to upsell you all over the place to buy something :-( Great to have an eq but only 5 bands. 16 kHz? Can’t even hear that high anymore. Hire a UX designer and you’ll be great. And the FW upgrade already failed once right out of the box lol…feels like a typical Microsoft experience. I usually have trouble with this type of app, but this one has worked well and the functions all work reliably to set the different settings on my X4 headphones. No crashing, bugs, or timeouts for me! I really like the Bass Boost feature and it is the reason I kept these headphones rather than returning them, so the app is a must have for me. Note - if seems like you can delete the app after you get your settings set the way you like... they are stored locally on the headphones, so the app is more like a preferences screen than anything. I wish the custom button on the headphones could switch between EQ or have other options beyond the 3 custom button options provided. Update: just bought the X5 and the app is very similar, but has more screens of junk I didn’t want. I wish Sony could clean up and simplify the app and get rid of the silly/useless stuff that they keep adding (like points for using your headphones) ? Show more

I found that the noise cancelling quAlities of the XM4 better than theXM5.

360 Sound only works with some pretty mid apps that you’re not likely to use. The thing constantly gives you marketing and update notifications on every launch, so you can’t quickly get to your settings. Speak-to-Chat will mute your music and turn off noise canceling every time you clear your throat. Alexa support feels half-developed and not smooth. The controls you really want, which are pretty much limited to the noise-canceling/ambient/off selection and EQ, are not at the top-front of the app. The above-mentioned controls would be way more useful as a widget anyway. The app is fine. I wish it was able to disable the buttons on the earbuds. The buttons are too easy to press on the earbuds. It’s easy to accidentally press the button and change the volume or turn them off. If I’m laying down it’s especially annoying because the buttons get pressed against the chair, couch or bed when turning your head. Using the app to disable the buttons would be a nice feature. The WF-C500 are connected to the iPhone but the app can’t locate them. Then the buds updated and connected, but won’t connect to Apple Watch. Sony has never considered Apple worthy. Show more

My 1000XM4’s can connect to multiple devices, but those connections (not even the one currently connected to the phone with app) aren’t displayed in the app’s status tab. As a matter of fact I can’t even get to that screen without disconnecting the headphones from the phone, via the iOS interface, and then reinitiating the connection via the app. Show more

Ever since the update with auto switching adaptive sound control, these headphones don’t work properly. Audio continually drops at random.

Pros: This app is great for customizing the sound of my headphones. It’s significantly better than the built in iOS controls and works quite well for everything from adaptive sound to custom EQs. Cons: I wish I could copy my manual EQ into a custom EQ setting automatically. And the app could use a facelift. The design aesthetic is terrible and doesn’t really fit into iOS (or androidOS for that matter). Show more

Just bought a pair of the WH-1000XM5, was instructed to download the app to pair them, and the app immediately started crashing. It wouldn't go beyond the terms and conditions agreement page before it quit. Show more

it doenst work with the sony wh ch710n headphones but it works with the wh ch700 ?

Love the headphones but honestly this app makes me want to sell them and buy anything else.
