You should definitely be able to enter text while listen to audio playback, and you shouldn’t have to dig down multiple layers to get to the audio. Shoddy cheap programming.

After entering and recording 2 songs I wasn’t able to enter another. The app wants me to buy the pro version before I go any further

Hi! I just want to thank the developers of this app, because it’s been a great help in my songwriting :)! It has so many helpful features (my favorite is the audio recorder- it’s great for people like me with a bad memory to get out ideas before you lose them, plus, it’s easy and great to organize it!- love that tool) I don’t have many complaints about this app really- it’s fantastic. The only thing that could be added to make this app even more useful would be an option to add in photos. This would be helpful so I could add images of chord charts or ideas I have written on paper. Other than that little request, you guys did a great job making sure you had plenty of helpful tools for songwriters! :D Show more

I’ve been writing songs since I was 8 years old and I have always wanted to be a legend and this app is a great start for kids and adults I highly recommend this app to all of you songwriters out there and I’m pretty sure lots of you guys are going to love this app so have fun with it. Show more

When I first discovered this app I thought it should be in the top ten giving the #1 spot. All the sudden it doesn’t work or launch anymore. I have so many songs and ideals on here and now no access.... smh... Show more

First time using the app and it has interrupted recordings THREE times (during recording!) to ask for a rating. I clicked on “Not Now - Ask Me Later”. Three times. Then it told me I couldn’t make another recording unless I upgraded. (Which I had done when I first bought the app.) So - interrupted session to find out how to restore. Which I eventually found and did. Back to work, and it froze while entering chords. You guessed it: to ask me if I’m enjoying the app! And to submit a rating. %@€#! You asked for it. Sorry folks - but that’s not the way to make a good impact. Happy now? You’ve got your one star. Back off, developers. You’re like the Maitre d’ who asks if you’re enjoying your meal as you’re trying to swallow your first bite. Show more

-Interface is a bit awkward and non-intuitive; although it’s useful and does what you need I consistently feel frustrated while doing things I think should be easy -If I record something quickly, it takes me several clicks to go back and write lyrics over what I just played - even though the notepad is right in front of me it is not useable until I navigate a few clicks back from the recording pane -I wish recordings saved automatically which I can then choose to delete afterwards -Sometimes after a recording, upon playback I’ll realize audio was lost and the recording ended early. I have more than ample space on my phone and there’s not reason for that to happen. -You can type lyrics and listen to audio at once BUT you have to open the audio file in a different way by clicking on the headphone?(not very intuitive, needs a better symbol for this option at least IMO) -The notepad area doesn’t scroll as you type off frame and the mid-screen options bar covers the bottom line of text - there needs to be more free space at the bottom of the notepad region to correct for this. [The dev responded and pointed out there is a way to get around this, but again it’s not intuitive and the problem persists in the way that I am using the notepad on my iPhone X] -You should be able to share/download the raw audio files of recordings you make directly to your phone (maybe you can and I have not discovered how, if so, it’s not intuitive) in order to share ideas with bandmates or friends etc. [best I can do is email it or airdrop - I wish I could save the audio file *directly* to my phone; if I could export in different audio formats it would be even better] -Folders are nice but when naming them the text is invisible (on iPhone X 14.4) -You can drag songs to the left to reveal more options but if you go too far it asks to delete the song. The difference between more options and deletion is VERY small - seems easy to accidentally delete something I’ve amended my initial review since the Dev’s response but the issues above still remain. I think it’s a good app, it’s just got a few bugs and issues that frustrate me, but I think the Devs have a good product going. Worth your investment as it will likely only get better. Show more

Purchased app to permit transfer of audio tracks but when selecting email for transfer NOTHING HAPPENS. No operational Support Link to address either, what gives?!?! Update - so received feedback from developer within a day via email in response to my original post; the app still does not respond to the “email, tab when selected (brings up blank app page), but I found that by selecting AirDrop from my iPhone 10xr that I receive options to be include gmail as the next step. So no, still not behaving as expected but I am able to transfer my work using alternative method. Show more

Nice all in one package for sketching out songs. Dictionaries, section headers, chord entry, etc. Responsive developer. The only thing I might suggest as an improvement would be code that allowed easy copy and paste of song sections in the text editor. Show more

Like WellLitStudios who wrote on Jan 8... I lost songs, too. I did an update to the paid app today and got screwed because of it. The app says I have 26 songs, iPhone storage says I’ve got almost 50megs being used by this app so I assume those notes and some completed songs are somewhere. But for the life of me I cannot access them. My iCloud back up was on but the files aren’t there to import, not ON my phone to import. They’re just gone. Never again. I’m done using apps like this. I bought myself a 500gig external hard drive and putting all my stuff on it from now on. Show more

Wrote 6 original songs, I have the upgraded version, folder states 6 sessions but shows 0 - I just lost all my words to 6 songs!! Piece of crap!! Tried to email support and the app will not let you send it! Again - piece of crap! Show more

So far I really do enjoy this app! I like the recording feature. You don’t really get that in other songwriting apps. I do have a few suggestions. When writing the lyrics I have found that, after clicking the “section” tab to select one, the words you start writing, underneath, stay bold, and I didn’t see an option to unbold the words. If there isn’t there should be a way to bold, underline, italicize, and opposite of that. Also, being able to adjust font size to would be nice! These are just some suggestions. I was trying to open and start a new song and it wouldn’t let me add another song. I had to go in and remove one of my 2 song I had done and transfer it over. By then I had lost almost everything I was doing. And now I’m trying to recover my lyrics. It get 1 star for not doing what it says. Which is helping me save my songs I write. Could’ve just used notepad and I’d be fine. Also paid version 6.99. Way to extort money from people who you are trying to help. Pay me 6.99 now or you loose that could line you thought of. It’s deleted off my phone will not use again. Nor the manufacturers apps again either. Show more

There’s a competing app named “rhymer’s block”... I won’t give them anymore free publicity by throwing out details, but if the developers of this app could integrate their rhyme highlighting and rhyming dictionary? This would be the most comprehensive and perfect tool for songwriters ever created in the world. Almost every feature is great... the song info section where you can add in PROs, song tempo and key, writer names and do the songwriting splits before hand is such a great asset to have on-hand in the session file. The shareability of the sessions as well as audio files between writers is also an awesome feature, and the dictionary and thesaurus are really good, not comprehensive, but very serviceable. However, for all the ease-of-use of these solid features, there are still some areas that can and probably need to be improved. It would be wonderful to see a rhyme highlight feature as well as a syllable counter so that writers can really track how a song is flowing down to the very syllable. I also have found the rhyme dictionary feature to be lacking. For example, for the word “political”, the rhyming dictionary only showed one matching word, “diacritical”, which is only one of a few dozen words that rhyme with political (typical, digital, visual, etc). Also, because the UI on “Rhymers block” feels so much more colorful and helps to inspire more creative ideas in my mind, I’ll probably end up spending more time on it using it to write, whereas I’ll use this app more so when I’m co-writing in a more professional setting. But, if you guys improve the UI (add two or three more theme choices) and really improve and expand the rhyming dictionary as well as throw in a rhyme highlighter and syllable counter? This app will be worth every penny and THEN SOME! It’s a great tool for what it is right now, but it has a little room for improvement and hopefully the developers are active and take good feedback into consideration as they’re iterating. Show more
