The app is well laid out and easy to use. The problem is that it will only open after I reboot my phone. Every time. If I open it, use it and close it, it won’t open again until I reboot my phone. I really want to like this app. But I can’t recommend it. Show more

I’m just learning to play guitar, and the lessons with Justin walk the fine line between being entertaining and informative. Definitely worth a try.

After the latest update, it won’t start. Stuck on loading at 97%. Even going as far as uninstalling and reinstalling won’t fix it. On the occasion that the app does start, be prepared to spend an insane amount of time attempting to convince it that you have an account and a subscription. You know, that you pay literal actual money for? I haven’t been able to use the iPad version for months, because it doesn’t recognize the subscription. Uninstalling and reinstall hasn’t helped, nothing seems to make a difference. I’ve reached out to support in the past, and was given advice that was (thankfully) really inaccurate (turns out deleting the app and reinstalling and signing in *wont* lose your playlists. Which, thank god, I would be over the moon furious). Anyway, I just can’t recommend it. They ask you to pay money for a product that just doesn’t work, at all, by any definition of the word. I’ve played for awhile, but found that I wasn’t really improving. I needed structure. Really enjoying Justin’s lessons so far. They build well into other things, as you go along. He’s extremely good at providing detailed digestible instruction. Takes you step by step. I’ve been getting better and really loving the journey. And Justin just seems like jolly ol’ chap, and I want to thank him for doing such a great job! Show more

I’ve always wanted to learn the guitar. I live out in the country, I work and I’m a mother. I wouldn’t have the time or money to do music lessons for myself right now. However, I stumbled on this app. Justin is SO encouraging and his lessons are short and palpable. He makes me feel confidence to keep coming back to the app and to just give it 10-20 minutes a day. I refer to him by first name when talking to my family member who is a guitar person. It’s kind of a joke now. But truthfully, he feels like a friend who genuinely wants me to do well. Between the one minute change app and this one you will be playing along with songs your first week. It makes “practice” fun and you instantly see your progress each day. I highly recommend this and it’s free. How do you beat that? Show more

I have used Justin Guitar to learn for a while now. His lessons are bite sized but pack a punch. There is great content with tons of songs to choose from to practice that you can search by chords which is really convenient. I really love the app because it gives me the freedom to learn guitar on my schedule any place I go. Show more
