I was looking for a better music player for my wife and thought this had potential (although a little pricey). I paid for the app because it said it supports family sharing. Downloaded on my iPad fine but when I put it on her phone it was the limited version. False advertising to say it supports family sharing. Show more

I’d never had to deal with DLNA until I purchased a Chord Poly + Mojo, which to my ears sounds significantly better when playing off the internal microSD card rather than streaming, like a veil has been lifted off the sound — but that requires DLNA. I wasn’t particularly excited about the apps on offer until Glider came along. I really appreciate Glider’s lovely Apple-esque aesthetics and design and the way it integrates lock-screen control on the iPhone. I started using the app early in the development process and was impressed by the developer’s commitment to improvements and the helpful and quick responses to tech support questions. There has been a learning curve for me in getting playlists to work and dealing with network issues at home and out in the world, but these are more to do with the finicky quirks of DLNA and Poly than with Glider. I’ve had best results when I’ve made sure to close any other sound-playing apps on the iPhone that are Airplay capable first and wait 20-30 seconds before opening Glider, presumably so it gets priority access to the Poly. I’m grateful to have this app and recommend it. Show more

This is the best DLNA player. Plus, it works well with chord poly, in particularly for browsing and playing songs stored on poly’s micro sd card.

A simple looking app that does DLNA right

This is a clever music player allowing automatic access to the highest resolution source of your songs. If you’re connected to a network with uncompressed files, Glider will play those instead of compressed files on your device (or great for streaming to a Hifi system). Has a nice UI also that makes more sense than iTunes. Library management unfortunately needs work. Syncing not reliable and the Glider library gets wonky. Show more

I’ve spent quite a while attempting to get DSDs to properly play from the microSD card on the Chord Poly. Glider was able to see the Poly via DLNA and properly initiate the DSD playback! Show more

The program is top quality but lacks the most basic features like repeat. It’s like buying a Porsche and finding out it’s missing turn signals. Sure you can just stick your hand out the window and give them or just change without letting others know but still it would be nice to be able to use this to listen to your favorite tune without having to hit rewind on every track you really enjoy. In my case I listen to relaxing sounds while I sleep. Now I gotta make a long playlist of the same track just to get it to do what other programs do with a single click. :( Update: I received a email stating that the feature is coming in an update. This app is simply the best available to make the most of tour Chord Poly player. Period.

Recently got a chord poly and have had great success with it’s playing as a tethered hot spot DLNA renderer with 8Player, but I couldn’t get it to play consistently more than about 10 minutes on WIFI without it dropping the connection, causing static or duplicating my poly as a renderer and stopping then and locking up! So I submitted a ticket to Chord but knowing enough about networking have been thinking maybe the 8Player app is glitchy. Have searched the forums for a good different app, but feeling like I’m crazy b/c everyone recommends 8Player with the Poly; so felt like they must be right! I AM SORRY IF YOU are bummed that this is a Glider review and all I’ve talked about is the problems I’ve had with the rec 8Player! BUT THAT IS THE POINT, I installed Glider, and walked around my house on WiFi and experienced ZERO drop outs! The app found my Poly on its own! Synced my iTunes Library on its own! Allows me to turn my iTunes library off and just have my Poly high resolution library active. It is INTUITIVE and INTELLIGENT and CLEAN! I have been listening only about 30 min (immediately bought paid version). Still working FLAWLESS! I thought I would try it when I saw on Head-fi the developer was active and responsive! After seeing a developer reply that he recently made a fix to benefit the Poly made me feel like I was working with new technology as opposed to tech that had been around and just seemed to work! This is the best player that can stream hi-res FLAC to a Chord Poly. Although it seems limited to 16/44.1 due to iPhone7’s limitation. Still good. However I am disappointed that it cannot store files locally for offline play, especially since the web site lists “Listen Offline” as a feature. Five stars if this feature is implemented. Show more

Loses contact daily with my media server. Only way to restore is delete app and reinstall. Needs more troubleshooting controls in app.

Easy to sync only downloaded songs

This app is great for casting iTunes music to your google home groups when it can find that group. It also has a problem syncing songs locally on your iPhone.

Works great with Chord Mojo + Poly. Fantastic sound and app.

I like the app, but when casting to my Google Home Mini, I can’t control the volume completely. After I’ve turned it all the way up on my phone, I then have to go to my Mini and increase the volume manually the rest of the way. On the other hand, the Allcast app does allow me to fully adjust the volume on the Mini, so I guess I’ll be using that instead. Show more

This app reminds of the old Apple music app which was a lot better than the one nowadays. It’s a dope app with a dope music player. Unfortunately it’s a teaser app that let’s you enjoy it for a moment and ask for $4.99 or wait 10 minutes to restart it. Show more
