    Best way to learn!
This has been better than any video or other app I’ve tried so far. I love it! I just wish that I could get it for free because I can’t afford it Show more

    Amazing App!!
20 years of wait to try to learn how to play! With this app everything is so smooth and you learn from zero, and from the beginning you will play lot of riffs that will make you feel awesome! Great! Great! Great!!! Show more

    Great when you forgot stuff
I had not picked up a guitar in 15 years and while I flew through the first 3 levels, level four started working on 7ths which I was never great at. The exercises are clear and good enough even I remember them. Show more

    Beginner, lefty
I’m obviously not thrilled about it being as pricy as Hulu, which can be used by an entire family, regularly. Still, it’s a really good product, and makes me focus on good technique. The teachers are great, and the visuals are perfect. Show more

    No too shabby
I’m really enjoying the app. The lessons are short and sweet and there’s plenty of song to learn.

    Huge price increase
Last year I paid $89.99 for a year of Fender Play. My membership ended 09/2022. No notification letting me know my year was ending. Opened app today (09/14/2022) to find that to re-up for another year will cost me $149.99 for the year. Sorry Fender gonna have to pass at that price Show more

    Okay, But Some Problems
You learn a lot, which is good. I don’t like that the acoustic and electric rock courses are identical. What I mostly don’t like is feedback mode. On an iPad there is a serious latency issue, especially with playing chords as opposed to single notes. I knew I was nailing the tempo on an exercise but when I played it back it showed I was a quarter beat slow. So to test it I hit the first beat where the exercise indicated the fourth note should be played. Sure enough I scored perfectly on tempo. Not good, not reliable. Fender should catch up with Yousician and have this work on a desktop with MIDI connections. Anyway, when it comes to tempo, you just have to trust your own ears. Show more

    Great app, great learning materials
I don’t write reviews often but this app made me want to do it. As a software engineer by day, I have to say that this app is well made and it’s so rare to see a non-tech companies having really good and easy to use mobile apps. Bravo, Fender Play team! As a beginner guitar player, I love lessons the app provides, they give you structured knowledge that you can transform into skills with great practice modes following the lessons. The process of learning guitar is so enjoyable with Fender Play. Additionally to that I really love their live streams which help you to immerse yourself into the world of guitar playing. Show more

    Great place to start
Joined Fender Play a year ago. I have always wanted to play the Guitar but no time for lessons. Fender Play has been terrific for me!

    Great App, Awesome for Learning
I love all the content on this app. One suggestion: if you could put more classic rock songs and some more pop on here, that would be amazing. Thank you team Fender for making this great app and listening to your customers! Show more

Taught me a lot that makes learning easy
From music theory to basic lessons that don’t seem that difficult but seriously help you gain better control of your fingers and gain finger strength this app really does help you become much more proficient far faster than learning on your own. It also has entire songs as well as riffs to them you can play. So if the entire song is too difficult they you can at least learn the main riffs to them. When they teach you a full song they actually start with the basic set ups for it all. Including amp set ups, pedal settings, and more to actually get the same sound as they use for the song. I’m learning a lot so when it’s finally time to upgrade from my squire Stratocaster I’ll absolutely be buying a true Fender! I’m seriously loving how easy this app is. I feel like navigating to certain parts of the app can be difficult but if you’re willing to look they have just about everything you’re looking for. They also have a wide array of songs for all kinds of players. Jazz, metal, even Taylor swift if that’s more up your alley. Definitely recommend it to anyone learning to play. If you’re worried about playing too loud fender actually offers an alternative to a basic amp with a blutooth capable plug (also accepts basic headphones) that that will replicate using an amp even with basic effects right to the head phones in their online store. So if you want to really shed on the guitar with a song you just learned without waking anyone you can absolutely do so! Show more

    Adult learner
As an adult learner I have found the fender app/website to be extremely useful. I can play it on any device i have and the video/audio quality is never subpar. That means i can take my guitar anywhere and play lessons from my phone, which is helpful when I have a bit of free time in between the events in my day. The instructors and instructions are clear and I like the fact they show a variety of camera angles when teaching chords and techniques. Best of all, I can revisit each video as many times as a need to, work at my own pace, and move ahead when i feel new information might be helpful to mastering previous techniques or to add variety. Overall, excellent job Fender. One MAJOR request that I have since I am coming from previous experiences playing piano and vocals, is that you provide lessons on how to transpose music from standard notation to tab and back again so I can use the music book i have collected over the years to play the songs I love. Thanks again Fender! Show more

    Portable Practice Buddy
What I like most about Fender Play is it’s always available with warm ups, lessons at my level, and songs I like whenever I have time to practice. Great tips on how to get the most out of my practice, too! I use the warm ups. Better to have FP than a file cab full of music books, especially when I’m traveling. Show more

    Helpful but needs work
I like what I’ve learned so far on the app, but since I play on my phone, it is so hard to read the tabs while I’m trying to play in feedback mode. If I don’t already know what I’m playing I’m a bit of a lost cause trying to read it. Show more
