    Would like my money back
This app is pretty worthless. Can use my ear and get a better tune than this app helps deliver.

    Perfect
Im still learning all the features but its very nice and it really tunes very good, for who doesn’t know how, it feels like you are tuning a guitar but it’s just the drums, it just seems that you are tuning a guitar or something like it, hope you enjoy it ?? Show more

    Brilliant and game-changing!!!
As a drummer, this is the most important app on my phone! Here’s an analogy for how profound this app is: Imagine being born colorblind, and having been handed corrective lenses to see color for the first time. Then you learn the names of the colors and color theory! Like me (prior to using this app), most drummers probably equated “tuning” to evenly tensioning the lugs and then playing around until the drum sounds “good enough”. This app reveals the basic physics behind the interaction of two vibrating membranes: notably how the Fundamental (F0) of the top and bottom heads will will ALWAYS be extremely close (+/- 1 Hz). So it’s not that either batter or reso are higher/lower than one another, it’s more about understanding overtones. This app teaches you to understand the truly important interplay between batter and resonant heads to control the First Overtone (F1). So the knowledge I gained about tuning is probably the most important part to me. It’s like an electrician using a multimeter for the first time: “Oh, wow, you can measure this stuff?!” Approaching drum tuning with this app will IMPROVE your ears and get you thinking more musically. For example, now my toms are now tuned in ascending fourths, matching most of the open strings of the guitars/bass in my band. Now all of that said, tuning is difficult. It’s like a Rubik’s Cube or tile game; you’ll be mostly there, and then you realize that one variable is off that causes you to temporarily give back some of your progress. With practice, you’ll quickly learning to anticipate these actions and reactions. I probably spent as much time tuning my first tom as the other four combined. Once I got the hang of it, I became a better informed drum tuner and used the app as a validation tool (again, like a multimeter to an electrician). What I like about this app over a similar stand-alone (and far more expensive product) is that iDrumTunePro gets you thinking in terms of F0 (Fundamental) and F1 (First Overtone). So both may get you there, but I feel this app empowers the user far more. Ultimately it’s F0 we’re after, but that interplay with overtones is critical to understand and, you can use it to shape your sound so much! This has seriously opened up my drumming world! Show more

    Super inconsistent.

This is def what you are looking for
I would have paid $6 just for the tuning explanation alone. Works great. My three toms including floor do not have resonate heads. Tune different for non res TOMS ? Show more

    Not user friendly
Can someone explain how I can tell what each lug is currently tuned to? It takes a reading once then it doesn’t change so I don’t know when it’s tuned correctly! This app is disappointing for the price. Not user friendly. Show more
