Does not find duplicate files in a large library. Duplicate files window remains blank.

Tried to remove duplicates, selecteed the correct ones (no way to set auto selection as others describe), continued to work on deleting files, after 2 hours it unexpectly quit (what iOS described). so made it simple and selected 1 duplicate, spinning wheel of death for the next 45 minutes, then a pop up sayin complete. Nothihg deleted, nothing done, absolutely just takes your money. Would give negative stars if possible, one star suggests that it may possibly work, this app does absolutely nothing it describes. Will be asking Apple for a refund. Show more

Initially, this app worked on one of my small iTunes Libraries with 2500 songs. It worked, but I had to repeat the process several times, and it found the same songs each time each time I ran the app… AFTER I had tossed the duplicates to the Trash. It would not clean my larger libraries of 5,000 or even a larger one with 33,000 songs. I am a professional DJ and was looking for a heavyweight app to remove duplicates… this ain’t the app I was looking for. Needed something that worked. Show more

There's no cascading settings like "keep the better samping rate" or "keep the oldest" etc. Just matches exact copies and picks one to delete. Not terrible, but certainly not ideal.

First, its clear that most of the bad ratings are rooted in user error. Within minutes i was cleaning the first batch of duplicates from my 18,000+ song iTunes libray. I left the duplicate limit at to default 2000 songs an It took about 10 minutes but it worked like a charm! Continuing with more as soon as i type the period for this sentence. Show more

Asks for permissions to write to my music folder. I point it at the right location, and then it asks me again in a loop from hell. I just want the dupes gone. Show more

i have asked for a refund. we’ll see what happens. it doesn’t say befoe downloading that you have to enable access to a home file. i don’t have a home file on my computer that is for itunes. my itunes is stored on an external hard drive. the app from the very start is not intuitive. and there is no way to redirect the app to the correct location. It doesn’t even come close to working…. Even the support email feature will get you a returned email on a dead account…. BEWARE!!!! SCAM!!!!

This program does a good job of identifiying and dislaying duplicates. It does not remove duplicates. It only spins a work-in-progress pinwheel for a long time but nothing happens. The support was immediate. Immediate in its response but non-existence in fixing the problems. I suspect there are no problems to fix. After all they do have your ten dollars. Show more

Downloaded the app and it found the duplicates but after clicking "remove selected" the app ran for 1/2 hr with no indication of the progress and no button to stop. As far as I can tell it does not work. How do I get a refund? Show more

It removes all duplicate tracks with one click which is great because on iTunes you need to select each one. A note of caution- make sure you check mark things like same: time and bitrate otherwise tracks with the same name which are totally different will be considered duplicates. Also make sure you leave the track with the best bitrate for you unchecked. One flaw that really needs to be corrected is that there is no way to tell the program which file to keep by default. For example, if you want the duplicate with the lower bitrate to be chosen by default you should be able to do that. Also things like, 'Do not remove if the song is part of a playlist' etc. Esentially there should be options. Show more

My library consists of hundreds of albums and over 10000 songs. I was going nuts with the duplicates and dead links. None of the great free tools like Doug’s Scripts allowed me to clean up both the logical duplicates in the library as well as the files on disk. This little app identified the same duplicates that iTunes itself identified (i verified it with an iTunes window open next to it!). and cleaned up the files on disk as well perfectly. No crash, no fuss. The only suggestion I have for the programmer is to add a few more metadata attributes to the duplicate detection choices at the top since it sometimes takes some more careful thought to decide what’s really a duplicate. I had a little over 3300 duplications in iTunes. This program found them immediately, and cleared them automatically. I had to run it twice to get them all, but that’s a small price to pay for saving hours of manually finding and deleting them. It also fixed the dead links, which were driving me nuts. I purchased this app to remove duplicate tracks from my itunes. Not only did it fail to remove all duplicates, but it permanently deleted a large number tracks that didn’t have duplicates or that had the same name despite being from different albums or having differing track lengths. Do not buy. Show more
