Completely Unusable-diminishes value of silent piano purchase
What is the value of purchasing a silent piano with reportedly amazing DAW interface and speaker capability in digital mode when YOU CAN’T HEAR IT?!?! [and yes, I’m shouting that to be heard]. Extensive call with Apple in January to confirm that the Bluetooth functionality was working on the Apple end. The app is the “bridge” and the app is still completely unusable. Can’t even hardwire a speaker with a usb. It has literally been months. Fix it so we can make music. Show more

    Compatibility Issues.
Unfortunately my midi keyboard (M-audio Keystation49es) wasn’t recognized by the app; ..So I was unable to check out any features of this otherwise very cool looking app.

    DGX670 not supported
Why doesn’t this app support the DGX670? Just purchased this keyboard and got all the right cables, but when I plug it in to the iPad with this app, I get the message “Keyboard not supported.” Is this something that will be available in the future? Is there another app I can use that supports it? Show more

App now works with my Yamaha N3X
I’ve tried using this app before with my Yamaha Avantgrand N3X and a wireless midi dongle I got on amazon and it never worked. The app would just crash. Low and behold Yamaha updated this app recently and it now works. Now I can change perimeters via the apple rather than via pushing key combinations on the piano. Thank you Yamaha for not forgetting us. Show more

    Rename App To Frustrated Pianists
I got this app to use with my P-125 so I could save recordings I made while learning to play the piano. Things I can’t do 1 - Can’t access a recording that was made using the function keys on the P-125. 2 - Can’t upload a recording made using the app to Dropbox. It will only allow me download from Dropbox. 3 - Find good detailed manual on how to use the app. Things I can do 1 - Get quickly frustrated Show more

    Hidden Gem
Great tool to learn songs in your iPhone iTunes library, but I cannot delete a song from my favorites. Other than that, this app is a hidden gem.

An easy to use visual interface for the Clavinova series
Adds a visual interface that makes it easier to select voices (sounds) and dig deep into the various settings compared to the onboard button panel (which is good by itself). Control over settings is visual & well designed. Hints (could be a bit more intuitive) To select non piano sounds - press voices To select rhythms - press the metronome icon Recording functions could have better messaging on saving files. A way to expand song options, and tweaks to the interface could make this an even better app. Adding interactive lessons would make it perfect. Show more

    Nice app, but not straightforward
I really like the versatility of the app and am becoming more familiar with it, but there isn’t an instruction guide or tutorial which shows how to make full use of all the features. For instance, in the chord chart page when you are playing or recording a song, there are 1-4 different color designations for certain segments of a song. Red, brown, tan, and blue. There isn’t any explanation for this feature. Secondly, when importing songs from iTunes to play along with or get the chord chart for, many songs (50% or more) are not accessible thru the Yamaha app. Finally, there are some various menu items such as A@B which are not explained and they’re not user-figure-outable. Nonetheless, I like the app. I don’t sight-read sheet music, but rather, I read chord charts and play melody by ear. Great app for playing along with your favorite itunes songs. Just wish someone would explain the app or show me a user guide. David Show more

    Need to be improved
Please update the accompaniment function for P series. Also, the app doesn’t allow user to record the piano playing with background music on other app. Its always break when I hit recording button then back out to play background music on other apps. Very annoying! Show more

    Doesn’t work with the YDP103
It’s really disappointing the Yamaha claims that this app is compatible with a YDP103 but it isn’t

    There’s an error
When I connect my p125 to my iPad pro, the app glitches and loses all of the instrument sounds but the ones that are built in on my piano itself. Why is this happening? Show more

    Scoring Functions need work on
Using a CSP-170 The app is able to record MIDI as well as enabling follow lights from a midi file. However the recoding does not seem to have an easy way to tell the app where to separate the right and left hands on the treble or bass clefts. Would be nice if users could could assign and overlap more layers as well without having to record multiple tracks. Show more

How does this help you learn anything?
It literally just plays the song and expects you to know how to read sheet music like you earn 150k a year working as a musician.

No clear way to get audio off app and onto computer
The app was supposed to be able to link to drop box so I could transfer audio recordings I made in the app to my computer but as far as I can see this is not possible. All I see is an import and not an export. There really isn’t any point using this app. Show more

    Good for CSP
I have a CSP and it’s a good app for it. I wish it would sync with spotify instead of apple music, but overall, it’s ok.

Gave up on setting this up
I bought all the necessary accessories to get this to work and after days of tinkering- I give up!

    Does not work
As with others I’ve seen here. My new CLP-745 will not connect to my iPad. This needs to be patched on Yamaha or Apples end ASAP! Weak.

    Pianos missing
I just bought the p 121. From the reviews and Yamaha’s site it has so many other options. When I connected my device via USB, I can only use the grand piano. No Bosendorfer, No CFX, No Up Right, etc. they were there when the app was first downloaded and disappeared immediately after connecting. Is this a bait and switch Yamaha? Show more
