    Horrible app. Do not buy this product.
    As recommended, we installed the app and set all of the tiles/figurines up for our daughter the night before Christmas. It all seemed to work while setting it up but since she unwrapped the gift with excitement it has been nothing but frustration and disappointment. The app will not connect to the device and is simply awful. Sad that we didn’t see these reviews while contemplating the purchase. Do yourself a big favor and do not buy this product. There’s a little girl in our house today who, thanks to Jooki, has nothing to enjoy this Christmas. Show more

    Jooki speaker is great, the app is tough.
    The two stars are for the app, not the speaker itself.** The app force closes A LOT! I had to set the Jooki up about 4 times now going through the set up prompts with the app. The app tells me to restart the app to finish updates but when I do it, the app force closes and I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. It’s been frustrating so I don’t update the app. Linking tiles to Spotify is easy and while Spotify plays on the Jooki I can still watch videos from my phone and not have the video play interrupt the Jooki so that’s definitely a bonus compared to regular Bluetooth speakers. The speaker is durable and the sound quality is great! The material that the speaker is made out of is great and the tiles are a good size for tiny hands. Show more

    Worst thing ever
    I feel sorry for my sister who gave this as a present for my daughter’s birthday. I work on the technology space so my comments are purely technical. This is perhaps the worst app I have ever seen in my life. I can’t comment on the speaker because I could not get that far as to actually use it. The mere fact that it asked me to change my home password because their software does not support the $ sign is ludicrous. And it goes in from there. I tried to use the best WI FI network that has a simpler password that apparently this techno can handle (all this makes a synod sense by the way) only to find that after many reboots and retrying with the easy password I was never able to connect the speaker. So I have asked my sister who mailed this piece of junk to see if she can get her money back. The problem is that we will spend more in postage that what this piece of garbage is worth. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!!! Show more

    Not worth the price
    The idea of kids having their own tokens with playlists it’s smart but the app doesn’t work, support never answers e-mails, they don’t have a customer’s phone number,etc. if the phone is not connected properly, the speaker won’t work, and then when you connect your phone, it won’t recognize your jookie device. I highly recommend anyone buying a JBL or BOSE speaker. They work amazing and cost the same or even less. Show more

    Absolutely horrid, look elsewhere.
    I bought a Jooki second gen (and a set of 5 figurines) for my son’s birthday. I’ve had it a week and cannot get it to work. I have emailed the company with ZERO response. So I reached out on FB, and got a response. Their support team has been unable to resolve all the issues I’m having. At this point, I just want a refund and to be done with it. It’s not worth the money and extreme frustration. Show more

    Always a new problem with the Jooki
    Problems aside, adding playlists to the app is frustrating. When you tap “add a playlist,” you actually have to go to Spotify; there’s no way to add a playlist from within the Jooki app. My newest problem with the Jooki is that when I start playing a Spotify playlist, Jooki is not available as one of the devices to play the playlist on, even though the Jooki is connecting to the iPad. If there’s a separate process to sync the jooki with Spotify, it’s not clear. Other problems: Jooki isn’t showing up in the app no matter how many times I reconnect it. One token simply isn’t showing up in the app. It’s a great concept, but the development is lacking. Some of the webpages are out of date, too. You’re better off with a CD player or iPod shuffle.     Do not waste your money
    If I could give zero stars I would. We purchased this player for our daughter for Christmas. We were hesitant because of the price but wanted something she could control herself. What a disappoint it has been. The player itself is attractive; however, after many hours trying to connect it to wifi and the app, which is needed to make it work, we have given up. We have never been able to get it to work. It’s been a waste of time and money. Their return policy is also not intuitive. Show more

    Unusable app
    There is an attempt at good design but the app unfortunately makes the product unusable - we can’t even connect it for initial setup, which is ruining our gift. It seems their entire server is down (site doesn’t work either) and other reviews tell me this is likely to be a persistent issue. We will absolutely be returning it in favor of a competitor - there are a few others on the market and this sets the bar pretty low. Show more

    Wish I’d seen the app reviews before purchasing
    Jooki has overall been a horrible experience. The app is bad, the player doesn’t connect, there isn’t support for multiple devices. It needs to be set up every time you want to use it as it drops wi-fi settings. Unfortunately once you get one set up, the instructions to get the second child’s jooki setup is to turn off other jooki players. If you can’t tell already this sets off a death spiral, because once you get the second jooki up, you power on the first jooki and the process starts again. So far support appears to be automated emails with the same FAQ answers I’ve already gone through online. And don’t bother asking for a refund, apparently there’s no auto reply for that question, they just don’t answer, I’ve been asking for a month now. Great idea, but the worst execution of a product I’ve ever been subjected to. Show more

    Wildly disappointing
    It should have been a red flag that Jooki doesn’t show any reviews on their actual website. The hardware (speaker and tiles) are solidly built, though I don’t understand why (a) there’s no play/pause button and (b) they made knobs for kids that the FAQs openly acknowledge are hard for little hands to turn. The app is a dumpster fire. I have to force close it every time I open it, because it only works the first time it opens. I can’t believe I spent so much money on something that works this poorly.     HORRIBLE APP
    It bugs out constantly. Even the set up is awful! It makes you go through about 5 or 6 steps before you enter your WiFi password and if you get it wrong you have to completely reset the app and start over. Why not just let us enter it again?! So now here I am on my 5 th try to set this thing up and I’m about to just return it. It should not be this frustrating to set up a kids listening device!!!!! Show more

    Working fine
    Looks like past versions of the player and app have been quite buggy, but our experience has been smooth so far. Setup worked right out of the box, was able to associate Spotify playlists with all the tokens, and the kid has been loving it. Hopefully their issues are behind them. Show more

    Difficult to set up. Not user friendly at all
    We own the 1st and 2nd generation and while they are great WHEN they work, that only happens like 20% of the time. Really frustrating to set up and get working and not convenient at all. For the time and money we spent on this would have been better off with an Echo Dot or something of that sort. Show more

    Disappointed and frustrated
    We loved our first Jooki and waited expectantly for the 2nd generation. It arrived but on multiple attempts I cannot get the app to recognize the device. Sitting beside the router. Customer support online is not helpful for my issue. Will attempt to contact them. Likely will request a refund. Sad because they were great at communicating about the new and improved Jooki but we can’t use it. Show more

    Does anyone successfully use this product successfully?
    The jooki hardware is solid but the app is not good. It fails in basic user experience. Does anyone at the company actually use the app? - I can’t add a normal playlist. Clicking “add a new playlist” just shows a link to open spotify. - there is no way to unlink your Spotify account once you linked it. - you can’t add new tracks to an existing playlist. there just isn’t an “add song” button. I thought since I can’t add a new playlist I would at least add songs to the default playlist it comes with but I guess that isn’t possible. - Setup failed for me a lot. Installing the first update failed and then it got stuck on a loop of “search for device” but it couldn’t find the device. I held the power button for 10 seconds, restarted the app, but every time it just said could not find device. There is no factory reset switch on the hardware. Turns out the setup had actually already completed, but the app was stuck in the setup wizard. It couldn’t find any devices because it was only looking for devices that hadn’t been setup yet. I just needed to manually swipe left to exit the new device setup and then it connected to the device that was already setup. That sounds obvious but it took me an hour to figure out and I am pretty tech savvy. In the end I might have to return this product because of the failures of the app which is sad because I really want this product to work and be successful. Show more

    App works great with the update!
    We were having trouble linking tokens to my Spotify playlists, but now it works great! The Jooki team responded quickly to users’ feedback that it wasn’t working and updated it. 5 stars because it’s easy to connect playlists and it works great. Thanks! Show more

    Decent speaker. Worst app experience...Ever
    The speaker is decent enough. The system is overpriced but the idea behind the tokens is really great. However, the app will make you want to pull your hair out. I don’t believe I’ve ever written a review for an app before but this one is so frustrating that I had to share this. I’ve used terrible apps before but this one takes the cake. Crashes a lot, is really slow, clunky and to top it off, the implementation to work with new iPhones that have notch is nonexistent. The app hasn’t been updated in 11 months and I think that’s the clearest indication any prospect or current user can have that the company clearly is not interested in backing up their product. Do yourself a favor and look somewhere else. Show more
